Dark

The sun loved the moon with all she had and all she didn't. Everything about him radiated mystery and calm and she had always craved that. She loved how beautiful he was, with his ethereal silvery white aura. He never truly looked like he belonged from this world, but rather a different, more magical world. He was always so calm, he radiates a sense of serenity that she seemed magnetised to. But it wasn't just her.

Everyone craved the peace that the moon offers. And she loved it. She loved how much the moon means to people. How people looked to him when their souls are too weary. How he was a soothing balm to the broken-hearted. How he gave rest to those who could never rest. How he was always a constant in the lives of those who never had a constant. How he was always there. How he was a reminder to everyone that there's always a light in the dark. How he always guided people when they were at their darkest. He radiated magic and wonder, and she was addicted to it.

He was kind and gentle and forgiving. And beautiful. Oh God he was so beautiful. The sun could never truly understand why he would ever be insecure of his beauty. He glowed every night. But, most of the times, he wouldn't truly show himself. He wouldn't show just how beautiful he is, opting to only show pieces of himself. Little pieces that, while magical, never showed just how much potential he truly had. There were also times where he, in a fit of insecurity, would refuse to show himself, and she never understood him.

But oh how she loved him. Even when he was too insecure of his beauty. Even when he was silent and stayed in the background, though he deserved the spotlight. Even when he himself felt too much and nothing at all. Even when he refused the world his presence and remained unseen by everyone. Even when he felt good enough to show himself to the world, making everything around him so much more magical. Even when he got angry and turned red, making the world fear him and close themselves from everything related to him. She loved him so, so much.

She felt envious of the humans. They got to experience his silvery glow that wraps them in a hug. Comforting them when they had no one to comfort them. They got to see just how beautiful he was. Sometimes she wished she could be seen by the humans too, but she never cared. She wanted the moon to be seen, so he would know how beautiful he is.

And so she fell in love with him and knew with all her heart that she would never fall out of love with him.
