10: Lyon & Gray
Lucy
I was surprised Lisanna was so serious about the whole thing with Natsu and me getting together. I called her the next morning while I was opening the package sent by the Fiore Fifa Association (the team gear) but she said she couldn't talk long because her flight is about to take off. For validation, I heard the flight attendants in the background asking for everybody to turn their cell phones off. That's when we ended our thirty minutes conversation.
Erza is going to be driving us to the next town over, to the rendezvous point outside of Mystic Town, our coach still unknown. I heard it was just a nice building owned by the Blue Pegasus FC. We've played them before, all very kind players but we never got time to sit down and talk so I might be judging them too quickly.
Natsu and I haven't spoken at all nor have I seen any sign of him. He went straight home yesterday, according to Gray who decided to spend the night with Salamander to make sure everything was indeed alright. He texted me earlier telling me that they're all ready and will be waiting for us at the end of Natsu's block.
I had two suitcases packed for the two months, each one containing everything. And a day backpack for the laptop and textbooks needed to be completed during this trip. A soft honk from outside told me the captain is here. I quickly threw on the new black warmer and ran outside, suitcases in hand.
Erza had her emergency lights flashing, with the trunk ready. It was only six AM but the sun isn't even up yet. Our flight leaves at noon but plus the hour drive as well as meeting the coach and the rest of our teammates for the next two months, this morning is going to go by crazy fast. Titania was also wearing her warmer, her own name on the back with her legendary number eleven in silver.
"You ready to go?" she asked as I walked up to her. "Didn't forget anything?"
"Nope! Got everything."
She helped me stuff my cases in the trunk (she had about three of her own already there) before we set off on the short drive to Natsu's to get the guys.
"Did he ever call you back?" she asked.
I shook my head, "I was worried but Gray's been doing a good job with keeping me informed on what's happening to Natsu."
"And?"
"Natsu's been himself around Gray all day," I said, looking outside. "Arguing and bickering the usual. He's acting as if nothing is wrong and that he didn't stop our friendship a few hours ago..."
She slowly took an icy turn leading up to Natsu's place, "You have two months, remember. Don't rush anything. He might not show it but Natsu is a very fragile guy when it comes to things like this. Or should I say, when it comes to you."
I kicked my shoes off, hugging them to my chest, "I just hope I can make him mine by the end of this whole soccer thing..."
Gray was waving at us just as we rolled up. Erza popped the trunk for him and Natsu, who was sulking probably because he's going to be stuck in some kind of transportation for a few hours. First an hour car ride with Erza at the wheel, than a ten hour plane ride so we won't be arriving at D.I.A until way after dark. I also heard that Colorado is just as crazy cold as Fiore in winter... great.
"Hey ladies," Gray was the first one in. "Mornin'."
I turned so I'm looking at him, "You excitied?"
"Pumped," he said, also wearing his warmer. "I'm ready to show up those players of the other FCs. Especially Lamia Scale."
"Who's in Lamia Scale?" I asked, trying to remember which team it was.
"Lyon Vastia," Erza sighed. "His long time rival besides from Natsu. Before Gray moved to Magnolia, he was adopted by a Lamia Scale player named Ur Milkovich. You might've heard about her."
Might've heard about her? Uh, one of the greatest wingers to have ever walk this planet! She played during the time my mom played. I remember watching her and my mom battle things out on the field than shake hands as if they're best friends afterwards.
"That's so cool," I exclaimed.
Sadly, she passed in an automobile accident almost a decade ago.
Gray's a little sad with Erza's little refresh on his memory but his excitable state returned, "She adopted me and Lyon when we were little. She then taught us some of the coolest tricks to aiming and passing. I wasn't exactly chummy with the guy."
"Makes sense," I said. It doesn't seem that any guy in Fairy Tail are chummy with old friends...
Natsu got in the car, a second later, not as enthusiastic as Gray but he did say his famous catch phase, "I'm all fired up."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The all fired up died in two seconds. So thankfully the car ride was quiet. Or at least I didn't have to associate myself with him quite yet. Gray fell asleep soon after probably because the two spent all night arguing about random crap again.
This left me alone with Erza and her K-Pop music. Hey, I'm slowly getting there. I understand who's who and I understand that if I diss any one band i.e: Exo or BTS I will get jumped by someone or something so I should do my best and keep my mouth shut.
"Oh!" I suddenly remembered. "Did you say goodbye to Jellal?"
She didn't answer, "We had our usual one hour conversation but not once did he say 'goodbye'..."
The man is hiding something, "Fishy..."
"That's what I said but I didn't press him," Erza sighed. "I guess that's his way of saying goodbye or his way of trying to forget me for two months."
"Whatever it is woah!!!" I exclaimed, looking straight ahead.
Erza looked equally shocked as she leaned forward on the steering wheel looking at the building slowly getting aluminated by the morning sunrise. I smacked Gray's knee several times to get him to wake up. And when he did, he was just ask equally shocked as the two of us.
"When they said that Blue Pegasus was the richest Fiorian FC," he said. "They weren't kidding."
"Who uses a flipping sixteen story building as a rendezvous point anyway?!"
