Chapter 11: Christmas dance

((Me: I'm gonna make this chapter the Christmas party because something has to be in sync with Celestial:ORIGINS

Kuro_Pixie: what could be so important that you must have this chapter go up now?

Me: wait and see ;)

Kuro_Pixie: You can't have a Christmas chapter two weeks before Christmas! That's madness!

Me: Oh yeah? WATCH ME!))

As I pulled my blue jeans up, and my green jumper over my head, I thought about Christmas.

'December 25th. It's been just over one year since my mother became ill... And here I am, about to have an Christmas party...'

"Hay! We're all downstairs now. You gonna stay in your room for the entire party?" Scorpion called fro the other side of the door.

"She's probably just worrying about her mom. It is Christmas after all..." Zander replied.

"Celeste. We know that you miss your mother. But it's not like she's dead. I'm sure she would like you to enjoy yourself instead of worrying about her." Conner tried to assure me.

But they didn't know...
None of them knew...

*********Flashback*********

My phone rang. It was my mother's house phone.

"Hello?" I answered the call and waited for my mom to go though our usual call routine...
But that didn't happen.

Instead I was greeted by the voice of the doctor that worked with my mother.

"Miss Starr." He acknowledged.

"What's wrong?" I asked. Usually my mother would be on the other end of the phone. But it seemed that was not the case this time.

I started to pace back and forth subconsciously in my room as I waited for an answer.

"Your mother's condition... is getting worse. She has an average of one month left to live. If she keeps fighting as hard as she has been previously... then she could over pass that time by one month." He stated.

My heart sank.

My mother had given me one thing to do.

Find the Zodiacs.

And I couldn't even do that for her....

Tears started to form in my eyes.

"T-thank you for letting me know." I whimpered.

"You might want to come and see her... before... she goes." I could tell it was hard for him to tell me.

"I'll book a flight as soon as I can." I replied, then hung up.

'I'm 18 now anyway...'

Hot tears streamed down my face.

'My mother. The woman who raised me, told me everything was going to be alright when dad moved away for work. My role model who nursed me back to health whenever I had a cold and held my had when the doctor fixed my dislocated knee...
The woman who taught me right from wrong and taught me everything I know to this day.

She was going to die...

And I couldn't do anthing about it...'

I fell to the ground in despair. Curling into myself like a ball as my tears fell silently.

I didn't need to make everyone else worry by being too loud...

I stayed on the ground for what felt like an eternity untill there was a knock at my door.

"Celeste? Are you in there? Everybody is starting to come downstairs now... I'll see you soon right?" Scala asked from the other side of my door.

I uncurled myself. I needed to put on a brave face. I didn't need to ruin everybody else's mood by being sad.

I cleared my throat and replied "See you soon" as I walked into my bathroom.

The clock on the wall read 6:32pm. I'd been on the floor for roughly half an hour.

I looked in the mirror at my puffy red eyes and tear stains.

'Time to look presentable.' I thought sadly to myself.

****************************

I opened my door to face Scorpion, Zander and Conner.

"I'm ready to go." I attempted to smile at them; and it seemed like they were persuaded.

We walked down stairs to see Ryan, Scala, Aqua, Leo, Aura, Rico, Vira, Tarey and Gemma in the dining room/ kitchen.

The brown sofa and armchairs from the receptionist area were moved into the dining area and say on one of the armchairs, talking to the childhood foursome, was the girl with the brown hair.

'So she fits in with them?' I deduced.

As I made my way over to her Vira pulled me aside.

"So how have you enjoyed your time here so far?" Vira asked me.

"Oh. It's been really fun. I'm glad to have met all of you." I replied.
"Speaking of all of you... who is-"

"I have had fun spending time with you aswell. As long as you don't go after Scorpion, we could be very good friends... just like everyone else in the d-"

"-don't talk to me like that!"

"I'll talk to you however I want to!"

Just as Aura was talking about everybody in the dorm being friends, a argument between Leo and Scorpion broke out.

"Who do you think you are?" Leo yelled.

"I didn't do anything to you! All you did was start telling at me with your idiocy!" Scorpion replied.

"Leo. Calm down." The brown haired girl tried to console him.

"No! He needs to learn that he can't go around during every girl he sees! Especially when he has one of his own!" Leo yelled.

"I wasn't eyeing her! All I did was look in her direction!" Scorpion yelled.

They were both face to face now. Seconds away from a fight breaking out.

"Scorpion doesn't eye other girls!" Aura stepped in, standing beside Scorpion. "If anyone was to do that... it would be you." She accused.

"Leo doesn't eye other girls either! He just has a flirty personality!" Aqua replied, standing beside Leo.

"I thought everyone got along?" I questioned openly.

"I thought you studied astrology?" The mystery girl asked me.

"I do." I replied.

"Then why would you think that everyone got along? Leo's and Scorpio's don't get along. Aquarius and Taurus don't get along. Lots of star signs don't get along." She replied as if it was obvious.

And it was... I just didn't realise it.

I didn't realise... that they were all... Zodiacs.

****************************

"SILENCE!" I screamed.

Everybody froze. Leo with his hands around Scorpio's neck, Scorpio with his hands grabbing the neck of Leo's shirt- lifting Leo off the ground a little- along with Aqua and Aura who had their hands in each others hair.

"You all have to listen to me!" I begged.

Everybody still in schocked silence from my earlier outburst shuffled to a seat and sat down. All eyes on me.

"You all need to listen to what I have to say." I spoke loudly, trying to hold back my sobbs.

"I got a call earlier today... My mother...... She is going to die is less than two months."

I heard small gasps and 'no's throughout the room.

"You are fighting for no reason, during a time when my mother is fighteing for her life. You are fighting during a time that we are all supposed to be happy and United. You should be ashamed of yourselves. I'm booking a flight to visit my mother and I would very much appreciate it if you would come with me. I would like her to meet the people who became my friends. The people who welcomed me into their dorm with open arms. Not the people who I am seeing right now." I announced, tears prickling at my eyes.

"Celeste. I'm sure we would all be willing to go with you, to support you during this tough time..." Vira began.

"But why do you need all of us?" Zander finished.

The tears then began to fall.

I couldn't tell them why... they wouldn't belive me.

My mother could make them belive. She could make anyone believe enough to at least act. After all. That's what she did with me.
