Why am I here?

Because I just wanted a place to train where my uncle wouldn't find out, I've been going out in the palace.

And the forest near that child's house happens to be a perfect place for it. Surprisingly, Celestia is actually the daughter of the first ranked guardian of Zacharia.

It seems like her mother is powerless so she became one too, but it doesn't really matter.

I just found out yesterday when I secretly snucked into the emperor's palace. I heard that Xavier Claude Rogue is in the palace, yesterday after defeating a really strong monster.

He is said to be the one who saved me and my mother by sealing my power when I was born so I got curious what he looked like.

I was surprised, he is actually that child's father.

And since this land is owned by that man, then my uncle wouldn't find out that I am going here.

Iyon lang ang naiisip kong dahilan kung bakit ilang araw ko ng gustong magtungo rito, mula noong mailigtas ko ang batang iyon.

I looked around with my usual empty eyes without any emotion visible in my face. It's a Beautiful and peaceful forest, different from my cold and dark palace. But I cannot seem to appreciate the beauty of it.

I just hid behind the tree as I watched the child. Should I reveal myself? she said we were friends right?

"Friend..."

I mumbled.

I don't know why, but thinking of it, bring my heart, warmth. After being cold for the longest time, it's new to me, but I don't hate it.

"Friend..."

I again mumbled, I don't know why I feel this overwhelmed. They say that friends are important to each other... does it mean that I am important?

I am important to someone now? I don't know what to feel or do, I never had friends.

But she didn't tell me that.

What if she find out who I am? then she won't have me as her friend anymore?

I thought I'm already numb, but that thought, kind of gave me the familiar feeling of pain.

"What am I thinking?"

I whispered while looking at her. May dala dala siyang lalagyan habang naglalakad sakanilang bakuran.

"Right...I'm just here to train."

I said then turned my back.

"Aziel!"

I heard her voice making me stop then looked behind. Mukang natanaw ako nito mula sa malayo at ngayon ay patakbong masayang masayang lumapit saakin.

She has the brightest smile, I've ever seen.

Nanlaki ang mata ko nang makitang mapapatid na ito kakatakbo. Kaya naman ay agad akong nagtungo sakaniyang direksyon upang saluhin siya, ngunit pareho na kaming nahulog sa nagkukumpulang mga dahon.

"Okay ka lang?"

Tanong ko, napakurap pa nang bigla syang humalakhak na inihagis sa hangin ang mga dahon na sumalo saamin.

"Aziel!"

Masayang masayang sabi niya sabay mahigpit na inipit ako gamit ang kaniyang mga kamay na nagpatumba muli saamin. Nanlaki ang mata ko roong hindi makagalaw sa pagkabigla dahil baka masaktan ko siya.

"Akala ko hindi ka na dadalaw ehh."

Nguso niya nang harapin ako, ako naman ay nanatiling tulala.

"Is this some sort of attack? are you mad at me for not visiting?"

I asked, but if this is an attack, why do I like it? I like how warm she is.

Nangunot ang noo niyang taka akong tinignan.

"No, this is embrace, don't you know what an embrace is?"

She asked confused.

"Embrace? Never heard of that attack before."

I shrugged, napatampal ito sakaniyang noo.

"Ay boplaks! yakap nga yon, di yon pag atake."

Nakasimangot niyang saad.

"I don't get it."

I said, napakamot ulo siya.

"Well it's not an attack but you do it to show someone how special he or she is to you. When you want to comfort that person and make them feel better or when you were simply happy to see them."

She explained making me froze.

"S-s-special?!"

I asked shocked, I never knew there is such a gesture. No one ever held me like that before.

"Ay paano yung gulat?"

Ngiwi niya.

"Yes, of course you were special to me! you're my first friend!"

She giggled.

"I am?"

I asked, tumango tango siya roon.

"Paulit ulit naman eh, maglinis ka nga ng tenga po."

Napakamot ulo ito.

"You're the first friend I made, hindi kasi pumapayag sila papa na lumabas ako ng wala siya, dahil delikado daw."

Nguso nito.

Well that's understandable since her father is the first ranked guardian who made a lot of enemy and she doesn't even have any mana to protect herself.

"Then why are you outside that time when I saved you?"

I asked.

"Ehh kasi naiwan ni papa yung lunch niya non, tapos may sakit si mama, kaya ako na ang pumunta. Malayo na ako nung narealize ko na hindi ko pala alam kung nasaan siya."

Nguso nito dahilan upang magsalubong ang mga kilay ko.

"Idiot."

I hissed, sinimangutan niya ako.

"Don't do that again, you just got lucky I came, what if I didn't?"

Inis kong saad.

"Wag mo na nga akong pagalitan, napalo na nga ako ehh pagagalitan mo din ako."

Celestia frowned, I just shook my head on her.

"Play with me instead!"

She giggled.

"I can't."

I said, bumagsak ang balikat niya roon.

"Why not?"

She pouted.

"I-I just came here to train."

I looked away.

The truth is I don't know how, then she might not want to be my friend anymore if I said that.

"But it's the first time I would play with anyone other than mama and papa. Please Aziel?"

She pleaded, napakamot ulo nalang akong hindi alam kung anong isasagot.

"Fine, but just for ten minutes."

I said with a stoic face, ngumuso siya doon.

"Hmm..sige na nga!"

Ngiti niya saka hinawakan ang kamay ko para dalhin ako sakanilang bakuran.

"Huwag kang gagamit ng mahika ha! madaya ka!"

Sambit niyang nagpatango lang saakin.

"I won't."

Kibit balikat ko.

We started playing games that she taught me. We ran around played, I didn't even notice the time, it's already noon.

Did I had fun? what is this feeling? This is new to me.

"Aziel!"

Ngiting ngiting saad ni Celestia na ikinagulat ko.

"What?"

I asked then blinked, confused.

I asked, tumango tango sya doon.

"Yes! you've been smiling ang laughing since we started playing."

Ngiting ngiting sambit niya habang ako ay nanatiling tulala.

"Why are you so shocked?"

Tanong nito.

"It's the first time I smiled."

Napahawak saaking batok na saad ko.

"Thank you Celestia."

I smiled at her.

"Celestia?"

A gentle voice called her name. Kasabay nito ay ang paglabas ng kaniyang ina. Ngumiti pa ito nang makita ako.

Will my mother smile like that towards me, if she wakes up?

Celestia, introduced me to her mother earlier. She's kind and warm, but she feels odd.

She doesn't seem like a normal theian.

"Kain na kayo nak, nagluto na ako ng tanghalian."

Ngiti nito, natigilan pa ako ng hawakan ni Celestia ang kamay ko.

Her hand feels warm, I don't hate it.

"Tara Aziel, masarap maluto si mama!"

Excited na sabi niya saka ako hinila na papasok sa loob ng kanilang tahanan.

Unlike my cold palace, their home is simple but feels warm.

Napatitig lamang ako sa magkahawak naming kamay.

It feels good to be held like this. I wish I could just stay in this warm home...

"Ano po uwam?"

Masayang tanong ni Celestia saka umakyat sa upuan upang makita ang laman ng lamesa.

"Kain ka Aziel, sinarapan ko talaga itong luto ko."

Hagikhik nito, habang ako ay tahimik na napatango tango. I've never smelled food this good before.

I cried? but I don't feel any pain.

"Aziel? anong problema? okay ka lang ba? may masakit ba sayo?"

The lady asked concerned, umiling ako doon.

"No...It's just that, I've never tasted food this good."

Sambit ko saka malapad silang nginitian.

I never knew, food tastes better when you're eating with someone.

I like this home...

"Wag na ikaw umiyak Aziel."

Ngiti ni Celestia saka yumukong pinunasan ang luha ko.

We had a great meal, I don't want to go home, I just want to stay here...

Where no glaring eyes looks at me, where I don't feel alone, where I feel like I am being embraced with comforting warmth.

I don't want to leave.

"Hindi ba mag aalala ang mga magulang mo saiyo?"

Tanong ng ina ni Celestia, umiling lamang ako roon habang nasa living room nila at namamahinga matapos kumain.

"No...they won't."

I said after being quiet for some time, napatango tango siya doon.

"Just wait for Celestia's father when he comes home Aziel, para sigurado akong ligtas kang makakauwi."

Ngiti nito.

She's worried about me?

My uncle doesn't even care about me, he just wanted to pass the throne as fast as possible so he could be finally free since he hated the royal family but got no choice but become the emperor when my father died.

"Okay, thank you."

I answered.

"Does that mean I can play with Aziel more?!"

Celestia stood up and jumped, muntik pa tuloy siyang madulas na agad kong napigilan nang hawakan ko siya sa braso, matamis ako nitong nginitian.

"No, you should take a nap first, hindi ka lalaki niyan sige ka."

Sambit nitong nagpamulagat sa mga mata ko.

No way, I don't take an afternoon nap since no one tells me I should. Is that why I still couldn't reach my uncle?

But I am a lot taller than other kids my age, since mana also affects growth. Is it because she has no mana?

"Eh nabasa ko lalaki ka daw kapag kumakain kang mabuti---"

Pinanlakihan siya ng mata ng kaniyang ina na nagpanguso lang kay Celestia.

"Sige na nga, eto naman gagalet agad."

Nguso nitong nagpailing nalang saakin.

In the end I also decided to take a nap with her in their living room while waiting for her father. Her mother on the other hand went to their backyard to clean.

"Aziel."

Pabulong na sabi ni Celestia sa tabi ko.

"Your mother will be mad."

Pabulong din na sabi ko.

"I can't sleep, pano ako lalaki niyan?"

She frowned, nagmulat ako ng mata dahilan upang makita ko siyang nakaharap saakin habang nakihaga kami sa kutson na inilatag ng kaniyang ina kanina.

"I can't sleep either."

I also whispered.

"What do you usually do to fall asleep?"

She then started singing, and the moment I heard her voice, I felt my heart pounding fast in the familiarity of it.

I feel like I already heard it before.

It's fascinating to the point that I feel like it's eases all my pain, hearing that beautiful voice feels like all my worries and sufferings were fading.

It calms my heart...

I don't know what will happen in the future, she might not want to be fmy friend anymore when she finds out what kind of monster I am.

But I will cherish this lovely memory...

Ni hindi ko namalayang tapos na siyang kumanta.

"Pain pain go away."

I heard her say while I'm about to doze off.

"I know you're not okay, But I will be here for you."

That's the last thing I heard as I fell asleep with a smile on my face.

TWO YEARS, it's been two years since I met Celestia, a faint smile formed in my lips, remembering that memory. I'm currently nine years old, the people still look at me the same, they still think of me as a monster.

But it doesn't pain me anymore, just thinking of my friend eases my mind.

She and her family is the warmth that keep me from cold, the hand that held me and I don't think I could ever let go of.

"Ang gwapo niya talaga! sayang at may asawa na."

Narinig kong hagikhikan ng mga katulong sa malapit habang patago akong naglalakad lakad sa palasyo ng emperor.

"Who?"

"Wala ka kasi dito kanina, pero nandito padin ngayon si Wind guardian Claude. The emperor called him after he stopped an SSR ranked leak and managed to close it."

Natigilan ako roon, that is my friend's father and also secretly, my teacher.

Gumuhit ang ngiti saaking labi nang mapag alaman iyon saka sinubukan siyang hanapin.

For two years, he taught me a lot about controling my powers and physical fighting, Celestia also joins us, so she could still defend herself.

Though I hope, she will never need it. Then I will sure to come and protect her.

Napawi ang ngiti ko nang makaramdam ng pamilyar na presensya.

Mukang ginamit nito ang teleportation bracelet na bigay sakaniya ng kaniyang ama para lamang sundan siya dito imbest na gamitin iyon sa tuwing kailangan lamang dahil isang beses lang iyon magagamit sa isang araw.

Napatingala ako sa gawi nila na nasa veranda ngayon ng ikalawang palapag.

"Stay and hide here, while I talk to the emperor."

Pabulong na sambit ni teacher rito. I can still hear then even with a barrier that strong because of my strong mana, above anyone else.

Unless it's someone who's as strong as my mana or stronger, I wouldn't be able get inside their barrier or hear them.

"Why can't I see the emperor?"

Celestia asked inocently.

"Because you're a half human, and when he finds out that your mother and I had a child that survived, we'll be in trouble."

That made me stop.

A human? a theian and a human's child? is that why Mama Marissa doesn't feel like a theian?

I read in a book that Earth is the parallel world of Mytheia but unlike us, it's not a world filled with Mana.

A every hundred years, A portal opens between the two worlds that might bring a human to Mytheia or a theian to Earth.

Is Mama Marissa one of those?

But it says that Mana are poison to humans and they can never have a child with a theian, it will kill them.

I'm worried.

I don't care if she is a part human, I just want to see her happy and fine.

"Sorry po, papa, gusto ko lang namang makita itong pupuntahan niyo."

I heard Celestia.

"Okay, but please don't do this again next time. Baka nag aalala na sayo ang mama mo. Bibilisan ko nalang ito. Hide here, okay?"

"Okay."

"I love you."

That made Celestia giggle.

"I love you too, papa!"

"I'll be back, stay here."

I heard him said as he left for a moment.

Alam niyang naririto ako, kaya panatag siyang iwan si Celestia. He even glanced and nodded at me before he left.

Tahimik ko lamang na binantayan ito. And Celestia being a little trouble maker is here to summon her inner devil again.

I saw the little psyco who seems to loose some screws in the head again, climbing into the railings amazed with the view and seems to be curious if she could reach the butterfly flying around.

I heard her thought, she wanted to eat it, because of it's peculiar appearance.

This moron is at it again!

Mariin akong napapikit saka nakapamulsang malamlam ang matang tinitigan siya habang nakaapak ito sa railings na akala mo ay kaya niyang lumipad.

Stupido!

She does look a lot like Mama Marissa but She got too much of teacher's personality, it's annoying sometimes.

And just as I thought, the idiot slipped and fell. Nanlaki ang mata ko roon nang magkasalubong ang mga mata namin nang mahulog ito.

I felt my heart raced, a foreign feeling, I've never felt before as I extended my arms and made sure to catch her.

"Are you an idiot?! what if I didn't catch you?!"

Kunot noong sambit ko nang makabawi sa pagkakatulala.

"What?! you're just gonna stare at me?"

Iritable kong saad habang pinagmamasdan niya lamang ako.

"Hehe pogi."

Sambit niyang ikinatigil ko, doon ko lamang napagtantong nasa tunay kong anyo ako ngayon..

"Este salamat! ano ba yan, mas pogi ka lang pero loyal kaya ako kay Aziel!"

Hagikhik nito saka bumaba na nagpamulagat ng mga mata ko kasabay ng pag iinit ng pisngi.

"Anong pangalan mo?"

Kyuryosong saad nito, ngunit hindi ako sumagot roon saka hinalikan siya sa noong ikinamulagat ng mata niya.

"Hey! bat ka nanghaha---hakdog"

Huling sambit nito saka tuluyan ng nawalan ng malay na mahinang nagpatawa nalang saakin habang buhat buhat siya.

"Let's go home."

Ngiting sambit ko saka nagteleport pauwi sakanila upang iuwi na ang makulit na ito.

Every second I spend with her is the happiest memories of my life. Napatitig ako sa pendant ng kwintas na hawak, kung saan ko inirerecord ang lahat ng ala alang mayroon ako.

Teacher Claude, told me that there is a possibility that the seal will erase my memory once it's broken.

So I am saving my memories in this necklace, just incase.

I don't want to forget them...

All the happiest memories that my mind might forget, but will stay in my heart forever.

"Thank you for taking her home."

Teacher sighed, I looked at him weirded out.

"I will even if you don't tell me."

I shrugged.

"You never say thanks, what's up with you?"

I asked, umiling lamang siya. Usually he would just smack me in the head playfully, but it seems like something is bothering him.

"Hey little twat."

Ngumiwi ako doon habang pinaglalaruan ang buhok ni Celestia.

"What?"

I frowned making him smile.

Something's not right.

"Promise me to protect my family when I'm not around, ikaw lang ang mapagkakatiwalaan ko sakanila."

Sambit niyang nagpakunot ng noo ko.

"Why? you're going somewhere?"

I asked, ginulo nito ang mahaba at kulay pilak kong buhok na ikinasimangot ko.

"Something like that."

He said.

"Matatagalan ba? It's fine with me to stay here, I'll just let my clone act as me, in the palace, if you're that worried about Mama Marissa and Celestia."

Seryosong saad ko.

Nakita ko ang lungkot na dumaan sakaniyang mga mata. Napabuntong hininga ako roon na ngumiti at yumukod habang hawak ang kamay ng natutulog na si Celestia.

"I offer myself to Celestia Strella Rogue. I will shield your back and keep your counsel and give my life for yours if need be. I swear it to the two Great gods and the creator."

I declaired as my eyes glowed while giving her an oath.

Mukang nagulat pa doon si teacher.

"Giving your oath is a heavy and a very important responsibility."

He said with a serious expression.

"I see knights doing this as a form of absolute loyalty. I am doing this right now to ease your worries and even if not now, I will still give it to her and Mama Marissa soon, sincerely."

Seryosong sambit ko.

"That's a relief."

That day, I never expected that it will be my last conversation with Xavier Claude Rogue.

"Your majesty! please listen! I confirmed that Claude really had a child with Marissa and it's a half human! Something that never happened before."

I heard, one of the councils said in their meeting making me froze.

"How sure are you that it's really their child?"

They found out about Celestia and they also found out a crime that will lead to teacher's death.

"I'm begging you... please, please for my sake, don't let Celestia, loose her father."

I begged on my knees infront of his majesty. I don't want herto suffer from that pain.

The only thing I want to se in her eyes is how it shines with happines. I want to hear her laughs and not her cries. And I don't want to lose, teacher, too.

"You're an emperor right? you can stop them right?"

I begged while crying.

I a crown prince, yet I feel powerless.

"If I knew they were investigating Claude, I would've still saved him. But everyone already knew, and not only the nobles but the temple won't aprove of releasing him, it will cause us war. Just for saving one man will kill hundreds, thousands of people."

Mapait na ngiting saad nito.

"I clearly told him that loving a human will bring nothing but trouble."

Mariing saad nito.

"Stand up and don't do anything stupid, like that criminal, Draco."

Malamig nitong saad na nagpakuyom saaking mga kamao.

"Please... please don't let me lose him too. S-Si Celestia, masasaktan siya, ayoko siyang umiyak, ayokong mawalan siya ng ama!"

I said while crying, begging him desperately.

"That's what life is, we lose people when it's their time, no matter how much we held onto them."

Matigas niyang saad saka tumingin ng diretso saaking mga mata.

"Just how I felt when you killed my brother."

Mariin niyang saad saka tumayo na at nilagpasan ako. Ngunit naramdaman ko pa ang kaniyang pagtigil, marahil ay upang lingonin ako.

"You shouldn't grow up as weak as I am, if you don't want to continue losing the people to care about. Or just stop caring about people at all if you cannot be strong enough to protect them.."

"Please grow up well and be an honorable man that me and your uncle, can be proud of."

Narinig kong saad niya.

"No! how is Celestia! How's Mama Marissa?! Don't you care about how they feel?!"

Sigaw ko na nagpatigil sakaniya saka lumingon saakin at ngumiti.

"Take care, your highness."

I was devastated, I couldn't undertand why would he let himself die when he could escape.

He has the power to escape but he chose peace of this kingdom than be with his family.

Untill the end, he is still the admirable wind guardian of Zacharia.

"I-I'm sorry I couldn't do anything right now."

I whispered.

My heart is clenching with pain as I remembered teacher.

"Kailangan niyo ng umalis rito bago pa malaman ng nakatataas kung nasaan kayo. Pangako gagawin ko ang lahat para protektahan kayo. Hindi ko hahayaang saktan ka nila Celestia!"

Mariing sambit kong nagpailing sakaniya.

"Ayaw kitang iwan Aziel, sumama ka saamin please."

She pleaded, gustuhin ko man ay kailangan ko munang siguruhing walang makakasunod sakanila.

"I will be safe here Celestia, but you and your mom are not. Your mom asked me to find you, tama sila, kailangan niyong lumayo at maging ligtas. You lost your father and if you don't leave now, I'm afraid you might loose your mom too!"

Naluluha kong saad na patuloy na nagpailing sakaniya.

"This is yours now, hahanapin kita pangako. huwag na huwag mong aalisin ito saiyo."

I gave her my necklace, my memories, my feelings with a promise that I will find her.

And a month after stop anyone from finding them, I decided I would.

Nangunglila akong napatitig sa iniwan nilang bahay.

This house used to be so warm and heartfilling, now it's no different from my cold palace.

Yet it pains me more, as it reminds me of all the memories we had in this place.

I was heading out, ready to travel and find them.

When suddenly I saw all the glowing birds flying away from the forest near their house.

"Who are you?"

Napaatras kong saad nang makita ang lalaking lumabas mula sa gubat. Ang bawat dinaraanan niya ay namamatay habang malamig na nakatingin saakin.

Nababalot ng takot ang sistema kong inatake siya gamit ang kapangyarihan ko.

Nanlaki ang mga mata ko nang bago pa tumama sakaniya ay natunaw iyon.

Sambit niya.

Tumindig ang balahibo kong itinutok sakaniya ang espada.

"Who are you?!"

Malamig kong saad saka sinalubong ang tingin niya.

The man is huge, has a bronze skin, a long golden hair and even his eyes were gold.

His bare chest has a glowing sun symbol on it, where his heart were located.

Ngumisi siya saakin dahilan upang mapuno ng takot ang sistema ko.

No, I can't die yet, I still have to find her.

"Don't be afraid, I'm not gonna hurt you."

Ngiti nito, ngunit iba ang pakiramdam ko sakaniya.

It's unpleasant, it makes me lose my breath.

"Lucian, that's my name..."

Ngiti nito habang titig na titig saakin.

Wala akong balak sabihin sakaniya ngunit tila ba ginamitan ako nito ng kaniyang kapangyarihan na hindi ko na nagawang pigilan.

He asked as I froze where I am standing.

I said bravely and honestly.

He smiled, yet his fists clenched as he walked towards me.
