eleanor buckled herself into the backseat after eunjin got the door for her. she couldn't clearly see the woman in the driver's, but her skin was lovely and her hair was a muted shade of brown-blonde that looked fabulous with her cream sweater.

"you must be ailian!" she greeted from her seat. she turned and pushed her sunglasses up into her hair, and elly was temporarily stunned by her beauty.

"yeah, yes! ailian or eleanor, whichever you prefer!"

lin smiled, revealing straight teeth behind her pink lips. "you can call me mengyue, if you want. it's my real name, but lin is easier for my brand," she said in chinese, and ailian immediately lit up. it was her first time hearing someone that wasn't her family speak it in korea—even chenle stuck to strictly korean when they met.

"okay, mengyue! that's a lovely name," ailian replied in chinese, and the conversation was kept brief by eunjin's dramatic sigh.

"no fair! how do i know you two are talking shit about my hair?"

mengyue reached over to pinch eunjin's cheek affectionately. "aw, don't worry, beautiful. your hair is lovely!"

elly secretly admired the laughing girls from the backseat. she couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy as she watched them, desperately wishing she had close friends like that.

"so, elly!" eunjin called while turning around in her seat. "we pulled a few touristy destinations and few hidden treasure spots. which do you wanna hit first?" she handed her phone to ailian, and the girl gaped as she scrolled through all the highlighted destinations.
