Chapter 7 (Edited)
You hear the sound of a door creaking and footsteps from behind you. You keep your eyes closed and breathing calm, to make it appear as though you are still asleep. The footsteps get louder, drawing closer to the bed. The footsteps stop and you feel the bed sink down as someone sits on the bed. You try to keep your calm, sleep-like demeanor, but it was hard to think with your heart beating fast and loud in your ears. You feel something rub across your back. You feel something cool touch the back of your neck.
"Kitten......Kitten can you hear me?" a soft voice calls out. You recognize it as Yuri's voice and remain silent and still. The cold touch that was on your neck moves its way up, until it is on you face. You feel it brush a hair away before gently caressing your cheek. You presume that the cold touch is Yuri's hand. "Fast asleep, huh? Well, I can't blame you. After all the work that you did today, you must be exhausted." You hear him sigh before he removes his hand from you face.
You feel the bed rise again, presumably from Yuri standing up. You figure that Yuri will head back for the door, but keep up your false sleeping act just incase. You hear Yuri's footsteps walking away from the door, and around the bed. The footsteps stop right next to you. You hold still, afraid to move. You feel a warm, gentle pressure on your forehead. The sensation leaves as quickly as it arrived. You hear Yuri's footsteps recede. The door creaks and then shuts with a light thump. You hear the click of a lock. You listen to the footsteps as the fade away, down the hallway. You lie still for a few moments more before hesitantly opening your eyes.
You slowly turn to face the door, careful not to make a sound. The moonlight shines through the curtains covering the window, casting an ominous lighting over the room. Looking around, you confirm that you are alone in the room. You sit up, removing the blankets from your body, and swing your legs over the side of the bed. The cool floor shocks you slightly as you stand up from the bed, surrounded by the cool night air. You walkover to the windows, still covered with the curtains. You lightly move one of the curtains aside, careful not to move it out of place or break it, and look outside. The moon was almost full, its light casting a whitish-blue hue over the trees and mountain tops. The reflection of the night sky in the lake was eerily similar, yet beautiful. based on the position of the moon, you figured that it was fairly early in the morning, as there was no signs of dawn quite yet. You release the curtain, stepping aside to let it fall back into place, before turning to look at the room.
Despite the early hour, you didn't feel tired at all, you felt refreshed. You did notice your stomach hurting, though. You sigh remembering how little you ate yesterday. As you look back upon your memories, you realize that, aside from your lunch with Yuri, you hadn't eaten anything since your lunch at school. You groan as you stomach loudly protests at its emptiness. You roll your eyes and walk over to the door that leads to the hallway. You check the handle pf the door, jiggling it slightly, before sighing in defeat.
"Of course he locked the door...." You mutter to yourself dejectedly. Giving up on your escape attempt, you remove your hand from the door knob and instead decide to turn on the lights. A warm hue of light fills the room, removing the sense of eeriness from before. As you turn to face the bed once more, you chuckle at seeing the drawings that you hand made the night before still covering the wall. In the dark, you hadn't noticed that they were there. Yuri probably hadn't either. Deciding to actually be productive instead of just standing in your room till the sun had risen, you walk over to the closet to pick out some clothes for the day.
You huff in annoyance. Upon looking further into the contents of the closet, you realized that it was filled with dresses. You scowl, walking further into the closet, hoping to find an outfit that didn't include a dress. You walk all the way to the full length mirror at the end of the closet without finding anything. You groan in defeat as you look through the last rack of cloths in the closet without much intrest. You were about to give up and just wear a dress when you saw a pile of folded clothes behind the dresses.
You take out the clothes and carefully study them, smiling to yourself. The pile consisted of five different folded articles of clothing. There was a large, black hoodie, two T-shirts; one grey and the other red, and a pair of jeans. Upon looking at the labels, you realize that it was all male clothing. You fold up the jeans and the red T-shirt, placing them back behind the dresses, before standing back up, hoodie and grey T-shirt in hand. You presumed that the jeans most likely wouldn't fit you, so you opted out of wearing them. You walk over to wear the dresser containing all of the underwear and such were placed. Opening the drawer, you pull out some (F/c) shorts, a pair of underwear, and a bra. Taking your clothes with you, you leave the closet and enter the bathroom to wash up.
You close the bathroom door, locking it just incase. You turn on the water for the shower and remove your clothes while the water heats up. After you have fully undressed you test the water before stepping into the shower. The water hits your back, cascading down your body, warming you. You sigh in content as you let the water soak into your hair. You stand in the shower, the water flowing down your body, contemplating what had happened to you. You smirk to yourself, remembering the song that you were working on for the play. You take a deep breath and start to sing.
(Mademoiselle Noir: A Tragedy, by hitRECord) (A/N: It's like a dark version of Rapunzel. Listen to it on youtube, it's really good.)
A man came across this old tower one day.
It was straight like from a book he once read
He lifted his head up and saw this young lady
And here's what the lady said:
"Moi je m'appelle mademoiselleNoir
Et comme vous pouvez le voir. Je ne souris, ni ris, ni vis."
Et c'est tout ce qu'elle a dit
The man was so scared he could only run away
He ran to the town and then said:
"I just saw a lady with the longest dark hair
And I think she's a living dead!"
The people, so scared, took their guns and their swords
They ran to the tower and then
They saw the pale lady and felt a great fear
When they heard how she said it again:
"Moi je m'appelle mademoiselle Noir
Et comme vous pouvez le voir. Je ne souris, ni ris, ni vis."
Et c'est tout ce qu'elle a dit
The people, they knew what this all was about:
She was clearly a demon from hell
They decided to set her long hair on fire
In the end it would burn her as well
But the lady was no demon she was a lonely soul
Just like in that book they once read
Still waiting for her prince while her hair was on fire
The one last time she said:
"Moi je m'appelle mademoiselleNoir (My name is Miss Black)
Et comme vous pouvez le voir. Je ne souris, ni ris, ni vis." (And as you can see: I don't smile or laugh or live.)
Et c'est tout ce qu'elle a dit. (And that was all she said)
By the time that you had finished singing, you had also finished washing your body and hair. Turning off the water, you step out of the shower, grabbing a towel. You dry off your hair and body with no particular haste before changing into your new outfit. You walk out into the bedroom and see sunlight peeking through the drapes. You walkover to the panel on the wall and press the button that opens the curtains. You lose your breath as the beautiful colors of dawn painted the sky. Smiling to yourself, you walk over to the window and place your hand on the cold glass pane. You lean your forehead against the window and sigh to yourself as you relax. As the sun painted colors in the sky, it also painted you heart with the hope that you could escape.
Looking towards the door, you steady yourself, preparing for what is to come, before you walk over to it. You hesitantly lift your hand and are about to knock on the door when you hear the lock click. Startled, you lower your hand and step back. The door swings open and Yuri walks into your room.
"Good morning, my dear. How did you sleep." He asks as you walks towards you. Yuri stops in front of you and lifts a hand to your hair. He delicately grabs a piece and gingerly kisses the tip of it, causing you to blush deeply. You hesitate, wondering if you should tell him that he had woken you up earlier, when your thoughts are interrupted by your stomach growling loudly. Yuri smirks at you, looking from your stomach to your eyes before chuckling lightly. "Hungry." He asks you, a playful undertone in his voice. Your blush deepens as you break eye contact with him, looking to the side. You nod once.
You hear Yuri click his tongue before he drops the strand of hair that he was holding and grasps your chin, forcing you to meet his gaze.
"That won't do at all. I expect you to answer me it's your words dearest, and you best do so now." He says in a harsh, demanding tone, glaring at you slightly. You return his glare before stepping out of his grasp defiantly.
"I don't recall asking you for your opinion on how I should live my life. And remind me again when you proposed? Because I seem to have forgotten." You snap at him sarcastically before looking down at your ring finger. "Oh, pity, I seem to have lost the ring already, silly me." You say, feigning surprise. You look up at him with a mask of sadness before you start to giggle hysterically. "I hate to break it to you honey, but I ain't no one's wife." You then dodge around him and dash through the open door and into the hall. You can hear Yuri shouting at from behind you, calling your name. Not bothering to look behind you and see if he's in pursuit you continue to race through the halls. Turning left and right and left and right and right again and left again until finally you find the spiral staircase that would lead you into the dining room.
You run down the stairs taking the steps to at a time until you reach the bottom. You run towards the door that Yuri had left through yesterday. However, right as you reach for the handle a strong hand grasps your arm yanking it behind your back painfully.
"Gah!" You gasp in pain, struggling to get free from the hand. You look behind you angrily to see Luke whole holding your arm. You glare at him sharply before continuing your attempts of escape. After a few more moments of your struggling you hear the sauce topping of shoes coming down the stairs. Terrified, your attempts double or as you trust to and fro struggling to break free. The footsteps grow gradually louder until the stop right in front of you. Luke releases your arm but before you can escape you are pulled against a solid chest.
"Now now, Kitten, lets not be to hasty, shall we hmmm?" Yuri says in your ear, words laced with malice as you push against his chest, trying to detach his body from yours. "Oh Kitten, surly you didn't think that it would be that easy to escape, did you?" You refuse to reply to Yuri's question as you continue to struggle. You hear Yuri sigh deeply before the pressure of his ams increases, crushing you to his chest.
"Let go of me," You growl at him, hopelessly trying to struggle out of his vice like grip. He tuts at you before starting to walk with you still in his arms. After a few steps, Yuri sits down at the table, dragging you into his lap in the process. Yuri wraps one arm around your waist tightly to keep you in place and reaches for the food in front of him with the other, leaving your hands free. You immediately take action and try to punch him in the face but, before your fist can make contact with Yuri's face, Luke swiftly catches it. Holding onto your hand tightly, he grabs the other one and holds them by the wrists. He then takes his free hand and removes his tie from around his neck. In one swift move Luke has tied up your hands, rendering you defenseless against Yuri's "affection".
You pout, glaring at Luke harshly as you sat on Yuri's lap. You swore to yourself that as soon as you got out of Yuri's hold, there would be a dead body that needed a funeral. You close your eyes and take deep breaths to center youself when you hear an annoying buzzing sound. Your eyes open but they swiftly narrow when you see Luke approaching Yuri, and you, with a phone in his hand.
Still watching Luke as he approaches you, you feel a hand settle lightly onto your head. Confused you look behind you to see Yuri smiling at you in amusement, one arm around your waist and the other resting on your head. He slowly starts to caress your head, causing your eyes to widen in surprise, embarrassment, and slight horror as you struggle to escape it.
"Now now, Kitten. You should learn to behave and stop looking at Luke like that. You resemble a cat even more when you do that. Keep this up someone might actually mistake you for one!" Yuri chuckles at his own words as he continues to pet your hair, causing you to pout and look back towards Luke who had almost reached the chair. Ready to scratch his eyes out, you start to literally growl at him as he grew closer. Luke's eyes widen in surprise at your actions, causing him to stop. He didn't wait for long however, and swiftly stepped around you, handing Yuri the phone and stepping away before you had the chance to attack him. Letting go of your head to grab the phone Yuri looks at you sharply, before answering the phone. Rolling your eyes at him, you turn on his lap to face the windows, looking through them in awe at the wonderful view of the water front.
You sigh happily as you look out at the water as the light breeze barley stirs the surface. You are so entranced by the water, you don't hear Yuri end the phone call.
"Sorry, my love, but I must get ready for some guests that are arriving soon. Luke, take her to her room once she finishes her breakfast." Yuri tells you as he stands up, removing you from his lap, and untying your hands. He looks at you expectantly, before he continues to speak. "I expect you to eat it all. Oh, and don't try to escape or I will have to punish you. Please, dearest?" He says sweetly, kissing your cheek, and stepping away from you. He turns on his heel and heads up the spiral staircase leaving you standing in the dining room with Luke. You look over at Luke to see him looking at you intently, clearly ready to stop you should you attempt to escape. You sigh in defeat and sit down in the chair that Yuri had previously occupied, looking at the food in front of you.
You eat slowly, taking small bites of the fruit and toast that sits in front of you. As you eat, you glance over at Luke every now and again, to find him still watching your every move. 'Creepy.....' You think to yourself as you eat your toast. You look out of the floor to ceiling windows and sigh in frustration, finishing your last bite of toast. You turn to look at Luke with a bored expression.
"Can I go outside?" You deadpan, looking him strait in the eyes with an unamused expression. His eyebrows hop slightly in shock before he schools his features once more and answers.
"The Master has given me strict orders that you are not to leave this house unless under his supervision." He tells, smirking triumphantly at your defeat. Not even bothering to argue with him, you ask another question.
"Well, can I go sit by the windows then?" You avert your gaze from Luke's and instead look out of the window. You can see a light breeze moving the leaves of the trees out side as the sun rays pour in. The room grows silent as Luke hesitates to answer.
"Master said that you are to finish all of your food, did he not. You should finish your food before I return you to your room, wouldn't you agree?" He inquires, causing you to sigh in exasperation before pushing out your chair and standing up anyway, ignoring Luke's stare as you walk away from the table. You walk towards the windows, Luke's hurried footsteps following you. "Miss, I really must advice against this. The Master told you to finish your food, it would not be wise to go against him."
As you continue to ignore Luke, you sit down on the floor next to the window, staring at a blooming cherry tree sitting just outside. Still trying to get you to reconsider, Luke continues to try and persuade you.
"Please, Miss. If you don't finish your food than I will-" Luke starts to plead before he is swiftly cut off.
"Get in trouble? Yea, that is a bonus." You tell him, not even bothering to glance behind you at him.
"B-but, Miss... I could get fired!" He exclaims frantically from where he stands next to your chair. Suddenly you glance over your shoulder, before replying.
"Oh? And what's so wrong with that? At least you won't be here to bug me anymore." Not waiting for his reaction you turn back to the windows. You gaze at the tree as you watch the blossoms fall and drift down where they land delicately on the water barley stirring the surface as you sigh in content as the room finally falls silent.
