A Day to Remember
I was wandering in the woods
Trying to catch a bait
When she came to kidnap me
Wearing a silver bracelet
She bound me in a bond
Of the fights and friendship
Always being by my side
On this wonderful trip
Just when I was enjoying it
She opened a portal to escape
Dragging me to a journey through worlds
She was a fantasy built in space
Hopefully, we did manage to survive
Came back to this land
As we lay tired on the beach of fiction
We cherished its sun and sand
To wake me up from that relaxed sleep
She sprinkled her tiny dew drops
By the time the day ended
I was left in a pool of sobs
To cheer me up
She rhymed with me
With the witches and their magic with us
We dived into the deepest sea
The sea which was full of rhymes
And a bucket full of love
When she became my pen and paper
I became her dove
Together, we sang the songs
Together, we danced to the beat
Hand in jand swaying along
Together, we tapped our feet
A little tired
A little excited
We sat on the bench
Delighted
As the day turned to night
Our thoughts turned to stars
With a bag full of poems
We went to the dreams far
I thought the world was perfect
That she was undoubtedly mine
Just then the villain showed up
The villain we called time
A battle of words followed
She used my words as a shield
I had no other option
But to run away to a field
Silence, my only companion
I was in the company of my soul
Listening to all the thoughts it had
I was trying to fill the hole
That's when she came again
Scaring the hell out of me
With a gun in her hand
She shot the flying bee
As the bullet flew past my ear
I ran from the scene
Trying to save my life
From this part-time assassin
I once again reached the town
Went straight to my home
To check the current news
I opened the Google Chrome
What I saw was confusing
A cop and a thief had grouped up
Weaving their little adventures together
They had left the city in ruckus
To clear my thoughts a bit
I decided to visit a zoo
Watching the butterflies there
Left me mesmerized too
But she didn't allow them to live in peace
She chased the butterflies around
And somewhere down the road from an oldie
I heard the, "Kids these days" sound
The look she gave was murderous
Those oldies didn't take any further risk
They knew, one more word from them
And they would unexist
Muttering, "Anything can happen here"
I started back for my home
On the streets I met a man
One with the heart of stone
Spilling his marvelous thoughts in air
He was killing all his characters
On the stage of war
He was one of the best actors
But he wasn't the only one out
There was also a homeless kid
To play the game of love
He was making his best bid
Besides him stood his friend
Drifting her words in emotions
Buying a cupcake for all of them
She was singing her lovely poems
A little down the street
When I turned another corner
The little twin kids
Were playing around merrier
As my eyes roamed around
I saw her sitting in the gallery
With a brush and a canvas
She was painting this beautiful scenery
My mood all cheerful
I finally got home
Smiles turned to a shock
There was smoke from my kitchen's dome
I hurried to the door
It was locked from the inside
Removing a key from my pocket
I opened it from the outside
Inside the air was thick
It was filled with black smoke
But what amazed me the most
Was the cake pitched to a fork
Burning on it was a matchstick
Behind it stood the duo
The villainous cook and daring helper
Shone in the light's glow
Before I could blow the flame
It burned itself out
And then the very next second
The house was filled with shouts
"Happy Birthday," they all sang
Popping the party poppers
Partying around in that burnt house
We cherished the pizza and burgers
After showing some of their wild moves
The crowd started to dispose
Left was just the happiness around
And my crazy host
Before going to the world of dreams
We had one final dance
The only thing that I could say at last
Was a gracious, "Thanks!"
Yes, that's all I can say right now. I don't know how to convey how much I enjoyed this amazing treat from all of you. All I would say is, "Thank you."
