After the phenomenal succes of Poove unakkaaga ,Thalapathy was recognizable by most of Tamizhans . In fact this is the film that made him meet his love life , his wife Sangeetha . ( It's a cute arranged love story but it will be told to you in some other chap ) . Then he did few more romantic comedies making his firm on family audience even stronger . 

Then came the legendary love today .This film almost ran for 250 days . Directed by Fazil it was a love story but was really emotional and had a mature climax . The film had many strong emotional scenes and Vijay performed it with ease .His dance made his fans go crazy . Especially the signature step in Enna azhagu Yethana azhagu .  He was lauded for this by almost all the leading magazines . This time it was the youth that got charmed by him . The ending especially struck a chord in many .

After this Once more happened .It had legends like Saroja Devi and Sivaji Ganesan and Vijay's performance alongside them was well appreciated . It was a good entertainer . Well after all it is the film of India's one of the biggest entertainers !!!!! 

Then came Kadhalukku Mariyadhai , favourite film of many of his fans even now . Even though it was released along Titanic the film was one of the biggest hits and ran for  250 days . Vijay and Shalini completely lived their roles . Vijay earned a Tamil nadu state film award through the movie . Vijay even sang a song for this film under Ilayaraja sir's music . This film earned him love and respect among especially female audience .

After this was Ninainthen Vandhai which was  Family drama . Then came the trendsetting Priyamudan , one needed guts to accept and carry that kind of role . Well Thalapathy is known for his guts . This role is one of the favourites for many of his youth fans , me being one . It was gray role and he carried it with ease . Especially in the climax he steals our hearts .

During this movie Thalapathy met with an accident and was seriously injured . It dealt with disc relocation . But he didn't make a fuss or used it as a way to earn sympathy . He went through a major surgery and was advised by doctors not to lift heavy weights . Then how come he is still so young and does all those feats ?!! All kudos to his dedication and love towards his fans .

After this movie came the master piece thullada manamum thullam . The role kutty still remains favourite for many rom com movie lovers . This was the second film of the breath taking Vijay-Simran pair . Their chemistry was something above awesome . The song Inisai padi varum is still crooned by all the music lovers . 

After this he gave us the jaw dropping Kannukkul Nilavu . It wasn't a big hit but his performance in the movie was very well appreciated .

Then came the dreamy rom com Khushi .It was one of the biggest hits of the year 2000. It was a trendsetter in many ways and was remade into many other languages like his earlier movies . But none could match the swag of our Thalapathy . He rocked as Shiva .The movie had very good songs and the songs were made even more better with our thalapathy's steps . My personal favourite being "Oru ponnu onnu " .

The same year Thalapathy tasted another memorable blockbuster "Priyamanavale ." It was an emotional family drama and was remade into many langauges . Thalapathy aced the role . It had the most successful Vijay-Simran pair and the chemistry leveled up this time . This movie made the pair the most successful and happening one .

Did anyone of you know that Thalapathy's son  Sanjay was born in the same year . The intriguing fact is that Thalapathy could not attend Sanjay's birth as he had some urgent shooting to be done . His dedication _/\_!!!! As usual the media started writing rumors that he had some problems with marriage life based on this incident . The even went to the point of writing that he attempted suicide . But thalapathy cleared it in style ...

 Then he gave us the milestone "friends" and intriguing "Badri" . While he was lauded for his performance and dance in "friends" ,he was appreciated for the risk taking martial arts in "badri ." How many of you remember "Travelling soldier ."

Then he gave the emotional "Shahjahan " , the action and socilaistic "Thamizhan" , youthful "Youth " ,action entertainer "Bagavathi " and the beautiful rom coms "Vaseegara" and "Pudhiya Geethai ." they weren't hits but brought back the money put in to them . 

He was lauded and had craze but all these were just not enough to give him the Star hero or mass hero status . So what did the trick !!!!!Wanna know ??!!! Keep reading ...

Well sheeps know the facts , be it Vikraman or Fazil or Siddique , they wanted him to act in their films .  Vikraman whom you think is the life giver to Vijay himself says that he only wanted Thalapathy to act in it .
