Chapter Thirty-Ends of the Earth

"That's it, we're done."

Norel says in confusion. I nod in approval, and Norel just sighs. "I wish that all of us could have survived, I never liked to hurt others, or worse."

Thunder crackles in the air again, and Norel is still sad. Not scared, nor prowd. Neither am I. We came so far, as to become some of the most depressed people on the rest of the planet. "Even if Django was evil, he was good in the end, and saved us."

Norel exclaims, before I step out of the mud, disappointed.

Norel sighs again, and follows me out of the muddy area. Charlotte was already gone, somehow managed to escape before Archland fell into the mud below. Norel shrugged his shoulders, clearly not wanting this as the outcome to what we did. "And John too, he was the most innocent of all, in fact he saved you Norel, he spared your life for his."

Norel looked at me with sadness. He dropped his weapons, but didn't try to get them back anyways.

Eventually we were lead to a soldier, thankful as ever, wanting to hug us, if he truly needed. Norel just stepped out of his way, before the soldier stopped him, with a hand to his shoulder. "Hey, you saved us, with Evenor, you should be celebrating. Right?"

The soldier said in confusion, trying to piece together why Norel was so sad. I stopped him before he made Norel angry. Norel started walking out, before i stopped him. He looked back to me, gloomy and unforgiving. I just waited for him to say something, before he started walking down to the fallen party island.

"Where are you going? Just one more fun time! In fact, it'll be on here, right here, and right now!"

The soldier exclaims before Norel looks back to see the soldier, begging Norel to come. Norel spits on the ground, before descending down back into the wasteland. "This is my home, the wasteland. I used to be like you, but then I built a society out of dead people!"

Then Norel walked down to the torn apart grounds of the wasteland, descending down into the hole made from the island. The soldier had his hand out, reaching to Norel. He fell to his knees, and I just watched as he walked into the depths of the wasteland. A shift in my pocket reminded me of something Django gave me before he died. A letter, of something he couldn't tell me.

I pulled it out, ready to read, it, with Norel going further into the tunnels. I started to read it, struggling to read it, due to Dango's handwriting. "

"Steward, if you're reading this, then you've survived the apocalypse, and I haven't. I need you to have norel with you, or John, and tell them to tell everyone the secret the islands have hidden for too long, long enough for them to take control. I,was apart of this, and you, are dead. You may not believe it, but you had a life before this one, and I wanted to tell you that there was a disaster that killed everyone, and you are one of many people to fall, and be revived."

"I, took the dead corpses of others, and ended their suffering and gave them new lives, as the shadow knights. Those who couldn't be helped, were the shadow creatures, who only sought revenge. Norel was a human, but like me, survived and mutated into a grotesque creature of pure power. There is more to tell, but I have little time left. After all, Norel, is god."

After the confusing and shocking text, it said his signature, and his bloodied hand. I ran over to Norel and told him the story.

"It doesn't make sense, but I was mutated. We need to find out more, and discover more, after all, it's all we can do now, since most are dead."

Norel says in acceptance, before trailing back down into the tunnels of the wasteland. I followed, and some others too. We all had something that we lost, and had. But we were all on one mission, to discover more. Norel and I leaded everyone, and we were just looking forward. Ready for anything. We then descend down into the tunnels of the Wasteland.
