Chapter Thirteen-Ghost Stories
"Norel, what are you doing?"
"Doing what's right, surface dwellers don't belong in the wastelands. They are home to us, get out before they come too."
"Wait, who?"
"The rest of your friends who want us dead!"
At that moment, my head started throbbing, like it was going to explode. A little guy with two MP15's tiptoed out of the shadows. He wore an 80's dress, with no sleeves or bow on the front. The MP15's both had silencers on them, and acog scopes. The midget had a helmet on that was sending brain waves to me, and like a pound of C4, it blows up.
"Listen to him kid, or you'll die at the hands of freaks."
There came out fifteen other crazy-looking people, except for the boss.
There was a faint laughing sound, from one of the freaks, and the pumping and bolting sound of shotguns and rifles.
"Listen, I know this sounds crazy, but the shadow knights don't exist anymore."
"The hell! He's lying! The piece of crap is lying!"
Everybody started to gasp in shock, but I started to sweat.
"How do you know that?"
Norel questioned.
The guy with MP15's screamed in anger, clearly not wanting me out alive.
"How do you know?!"
The midget stopped his anger dead in his tracks. He clearly was frightened about Norel, due to him starting to sweat and shake.
"How do you know?!!"
Norel questioned again, making the midget drop his weapons, and he shot his hands up, as a show of surrendering.
Norel started to glow in his eyes, in the missing skin he has, and at the ends of his fingertips. Energy soared around him, then a blast came from those spots.
"HOW DO YOU KNOW!!!!!!!"
The midget was then blasted to bits, organs and fried pieces of skin hitting the ground, and his head with his eyes popped out of their sockets hit the ground beside me. I dropped to the ground, my heart racing from the save Norel did for me.
"You didn't lie, right?"
I breathed relaxed because I was safe. I knew it because Norel, the guy who started this completely, saved my life because one of his family had no reason to kill. "I will ask again, you didn't lie?"
"No, I didn't. Everything that I knew about the Shadow Knights fell apart. Most of my friends died in the first battle I had, as the enemies had been underestimated. Then my friends became monsters, and now my greatest friend slapped me off a train to here. To rot in either acid fog, or in an inescapable circus of killer mutants. "
"You aren't the only one that had it hard."
Norel noted."In fact, all of us had it hard. It's why we're here. With a killer who's confiscated with 55th degree murder."
I was shocked by what he'd said. That they are hanging around a person who's committed genocide multiple times, not caring for others or having remorse for anything he's done.
"Wait, if he's killed so many, who's he targeting?"
Norel shot up, as if he realized something terrible.
"Wait, you said you're a Shadow Knight?"
I noded in reply.
"He's killed loads of everyone, but he's killed Shadow Knights more than anyone else."
I felt the hair on my neck stand up and a shiver roll down my spine. I'm a target?
Just then, as everyone is shocked as ever, scared as ever, someone knocks at the door.
