Chapter Sixteen-Rescue
"Ok Saunty, what's your status?"
Norel checked on his walkie-talkie while him and I hide in the bushes in front of where Mr. Tall was shipping Charlotte. The place was actually harder than I thought to break into. There were lasers (obviously) , spikes, shotgun doors, and even needle walls (needles with poison moving in and out of view in walls). Though there were no guards. No nothing really. Saunty was the guy who'd crash through the iron doors, because if he doesn't happen to destroying anything, he kinda goes insane, so we gave him the destructive job.
I are the ones to actually save Charlotte, with all the doors open, and Norel is the hacker who'll help me find where she is, disable all death traps and turrets, and the one who gets us out without them finding anything behind it. "Good, but there are guards! Strong ones too! In fact, one's on my ass now! Get yourselves over here, I'm in the ballroom! Hurry!"
Norel looked stunned and rolled over, to face me. I started to get up, and started to tiptoe over to the entrance that was blown open by Saunty. There were others who wanted to join, but most weren't able to fight because of getting injured from Mr. Tall. The halls were banged up from Saunty, and the ballroom was worse. Tables flipped over and smashed glass everywhere, and Saunty was fighting a drone on the ground, punching it down as it tasered him in the arms.
"Can. You. Help me?!"
Saunty demanded as more drones marched into the room, tasers at ready. Some also had plasma cannons and artillery snipers. "Stand down, resistance is futile!"
A guard ordered in a robotic voice. Saunty growled, Norel raised his crossbow, and I raised my fists, and the bolt bath began.
I smashed a couple, smashing them with bricks across the head. Norel just picked them off one by one, as he had a crossbow so he took that chance to use it. Saunty just crushed them by stepping on their torsos and whipping them across the room. I took out the last one by taking a spear and impaling it through the chest. I heard a faint growing beeping until it began to tear apart the robot's chest, revealing a bomb I just turned on.
"Steward! Look out!"
Norel screeched as the building began to fall onto itself. A spear aiming for me came down from the chandeleur. Something stood overtop of me, something big. Blood and guts splattered everywhere on me. I looked up to see that Norel okay, but looking at the less blinding light overtop of me made me want to cry in grief. Saunty, the guy who didn't give a living crap of if you were alive or dead, was overtop of me, with a spear through his chest, and was dying over me.
¨Looks like I'm the one who helped, huh?"
He then dropped to the floor with Norel dragging me behind him. "Steward, we're leaving. Now."
Someone hovered over us, with Charlotte in one hand of a man, and a revolver in the other hand.
"Well Hello Norel! It looks like you're in a giffy!"
The man exclaimed from above us as more drones began to march towards us. Charlotte had a gag in her mouth, and she was only in her torn pants and crop-top. She was beaten like a horribly cooked turkey on Thanksgiving. The man held the gun to Charlotte's head. He leaned over the blaring light of the moon to Norel and I, to show that it was Mr. Tall.
"Boss? How'd you get that chopper?"
Norel questioned as he twirled the gun around his finger.
"Simple. The bidder gave it to me to kill you."
He then began to fire at Norel and I. When he missed, he pulled the gun towards Charlotte's cheek. "You've been a horrible servant, Norel. This is a present for your insignificance."
He then aimed at her chest and shot her. She plummeted towards the Earth like a meteor. I caught her, and Mr. Tall shot more at Norel and he just simply dodged it, shot at Mr. Tall with his crossbow, and it landed in his left shoulder. He snarled in pain, and shot again, hitting Norel in the chest. Mr. Tall cackled, then flew off, leaving me with Norel and Charlotte to deal with.
