Chapter Eleven-Wasteland
Fog. Acid Fog. The worst kind of fog, surrounding my blurry vision and warming me like a blanket in the winter. Though this fog, if stuck in it long enough, you will boil down to the bone if not careful. I couldn't move, must've hurt my back on the fall. Surprised I'm not dead too. From being hit by Archland off a train, I should've died. Though I didn't, so I can't give up now.
I tried moving, but didn't, which was very bad, because I was covered in Acid fog, which would burn me if in the same spot for any longer. I rolled myself onto my stomach, which only made it hurt more. Then I located solid ground to push on, that won't just collapse if I just push too hard.
Once those locations were found, I pushed myself onto my knees, which also hurt, but only because of moving after my body being asleep. I then brought one leg in front, planting my foot in the ground. Pushing in harder, I began to get back to my feet. Then a pop came from my back and I stumbled back down to the ground.
After many attempts to get back up, I succeeded before my flesh over burnt and peeled right off my bones. Now I needed to find a way out of the fog, which was easier said than done, as I was crippled. I was practically dead, walking with only skin and muscle to protect me.
The cloth I was wearing would do nothing to protect me from the sharp tip of a blade. My bones were jelly too, making it hard to even lift my leg up off the ground. I would only limp a bit of a distance, then falling to ground only to get up and do it again.
After multiple attempts of limping to safety, my body completely gave out, leaving me to melt in the acidic fog. My blurry vision turned into a black screen, then I fell to the ground, helpless of what was happening. I felt the acidic fog burning my skin off. After being in the fog for only ten minutes, my cloth shirt has already decayed fully.
I wasn't able to see anything dark or something with regular lighting, though I was able to see anything that was really bright, and a bright red dot came into aim right beside me where I was laying. A steel grapple arrow came down perfectly where the red dot was.
I heard someone zip down with the grapple arrow, and then they hoisted me onto their shoulder. They then shot another grapple arrow, launching us onto the mountain top. The strong winds and altitude made me sick, because when you're low on the ground, then get plunged back into midair, you get vertigo and become very sick.
I wasn't able to see, but I knew from the hard cold hitting my back, that we were in the middle of a snowstorm. That didn't stop the guy from treading through the snowstorm. "Who are you and why are you saving me, if you are to begin with?"
I quivered in shock.
The guy then replied with a scratchy voice that sounded more like a X_HORITTIE then just a guy. "Sorry pal, but I'm not supposed to be talking' to you. I'm instead supposed to knock you out, but because you're clearly exhausted, I'll leave you to fall asleep yourself. "
My vision came back, only to reveal a lighten-up, decaying building that was multi-colored, like a circus, though at a time like this, why would there be a circus running? Either way, I passed out completely before I could think about it more.
