Chapter Eighteen-Encounter
"So, what do we do now? We lost our source of power. We have only us, and our source of information is also lost."
Norel questioned as rain at all poured over us, adding a sense of confusion in the air. I didn't talk the whole time, due to wanting to pay respects to the now dead Charlotte. I gestured my shoulders in a confusion, knowing I wouldn't say anything anyways. "Well, what are we going to do?"
Norel questioned again.
Thunder and lightning started to ring and strike down in the location around us. Norel and I looked up, somewhat startled, and exhaled out as we were near shelter. Norel looked to me, clearly thinking about something. Rain is pouring down on the both of us, and neither of us are cold. I look to the ground, at my bare feet. I looked back up in sadness.
"Norel, I don't know. Really, the only thing I can think of is to kill this guy, but what he did to Charlotte, could tear me to shreds." I gestured to my bare stomach and chest. "If, that does happen, kick his ass down to hell, while you? For me?"
Norel nodded.
We both ran inside, having the other freaks get drinks for us. A hot chocolate (that actually wasn't hot, just a couple days old), and a jug of rum. Norel looked at the old mug, and pushed it to me. I looked at the rum and cringed to see Norel pouring it on his head, like it was a teenager party after high school ended. I sat in this royal chair, dusty as hell, and Norel sat on the edge of an old bed frame, looking painful, I asked if he wanted me to sit there instead, he just waved me off to discard it, so I did.
One thing I couldn't get off my mind, was the name Django Du-shea. I don't recognise it, but it sounds like a tribal name. A name came to mind.
Ex-zarlouss. I remember now. They were the people called grimlords, who rebuilt civilization by fuel it with the corpses of the dead people who failed to survive the multi-disaster. It was when something bad happened with the environment, like a disaster, and it repeated with different variations of the disaster. This crumbled thousands of people's lives and their things, their homes, and the landscapes that their houses stood on. Grimlords built the three sectors, and made Shadow Knights to protect what was left. But why would they tear down the one thing they made?
I couldn't think anymore and got up, and wandered to the mirror near Norel's bed. I needed to tiptoe past him, or he'd be wondering why I was up, and would stay up himself. I was successful, and quietly shut the door behind me, sealing me off from Norel. I looked at myself. My pants were staying on, despite there being pretty much nothing keeping it up. My arms were bruised in multiple places, and my head was just covered in dirt. I felt a tense feeling in my stomach, a cramp. I looked down at my stomach, to find it was clenching. I rubbed it hard in the spot it hurt the most. After it felt way better. I exhaled, left with only a trench coat, and a revolver.
I was wandering for hours now, feet hurting from all the metal I slipped and tripped over, also from bending and all the materials I've been on. I covered my eyes from the sun to look in the distance to find, a hut. Not a royal one, but a hut. I glanced around to see if anyone was home. Nobody came through the cracks of the house. Or even in the distance, coming back from a hard day of traveling or foraging.
I trotted closer and closer until I reached the main porch. I knocked on the door, and peaked in the mail slot. Nobody home. I looked under any crevices in the house's lining, still, nothing and nobody to be found. I smashed the door with my hand, and it hurt, but the thing I was paying attention on was that the door smashed through it's own hinges, and broke down onto the floor. Dust came smoking in and out from all the dust inside. I scanned the inside of the hut, and it wasn't as small as it looked when I found it from a distance, it was actually pretty big, like it was bigger on the inside than it was on the outside, like a police box.
I coughed a couple times before continuing on with my inspection of the area. There was a bookcase with a crack behind it, and dust flowing through the crack. I shifted the bookcase onto it's side to find that it had a hole with an overloading back hall that looked like it was ripped straight out of a sci-fi movie. Walking on the cold and untreated metal made the pads under my heels and toes relaxed, at least it wasn't rusted. A sliding door opened revealing a bunch of monitors, beds with people on them, having wires strapped to their chest, and one gigantic statue. It read on a sign under it reading
Django Du-Shea:The Master Assassin of the Ex-zarlouss clan
My heart nearly stopped as a song started to ring in my ears, something I've heard before in a vision, from someone trying to kill me.
"Django, Django, Du-shea.
Django, Django, Du-shea."
"Come on, kid You know the lyrics!"
The man then continues to sing.
"I'm your worst nightmare, I'm your worst to compare
to your mother, your father, your brother and sister
all because I'm the guy you don't wanna meet on the flipside of things.
Django, Django, Du-shea.
Django, Django, Du-shea.
I'm the one you'll want to meet if you need someone to kill.
Kill them as fast as you can."
As strong as you can.
As secret as you can, I'm that kind of guy.
"I know you have it in you! Stop hiding it inside of you!"
The man then goes even further by pulling his gun out on me and begins to fire out on me. I quickly throw myself into cover. He continues to sing, in a menacing way now.
"Django, Django, Du-shea.
Django, Django, Du-
Shea!"
He shoots again and runs out of ammo. "God dang it! You know, weapons like these could use upgrades, they're currently crap! Just an ammo upgrade! That's all I asked for!"
He throws the gun at me in anger. I grab the gun and find a stick that fits into the barrel. I chuck it at the man, presumably Django Du-shea. He screams in pain and agony, I take that couple seconds to run. He thows it back at me, and I kick it back with my foot. I groan in pain and continue running. Running as fast as possible, to get away from the madman on the chase for my head.
