This isn't Middle Earth anymore.

Ella was unconscious, and she knew it but doesn't know why. She felt a rough fabric under her. She squinted her eyes to look around her but her head ached from something that hit her hard, she held her hand and asked "What happened?"

But as she opened her eyes and saw clearly, her blood ran cold. Her eyes widen and it scanned the room trying to find anything that was familiar to her. All she saw was a picture frame of her, her parents, Ally and Grandfather.

She took a good look around the room and she stopped breathing once she noticed that she was in the modern world. Her heart beat increased almost too abnormally. She quickly ran to the window opening the curtains seeing New York.

"No!" she whispered as she backed away from the window. She quickly touched her ears and found out they weren't pointed anymore. She quickly felt tears whelming in her eyes. Then she went to the mirror and found out she looked different,

Her eyes were back to green, her hair was golden blonde and it came to her shoulders, in short she looked like her human self.

Ella thought 'This can't be, I'm human again even my eyes are pale green' she was panicking until she heard a door opened and as she saw it was a girl she didn't know her. Ella screamed making the girl jump.

"Woah! Ella! What has gotten into you?" the mysterious girl said while rolling her eyes holding a plastic of McDonald's take out. "Who are you?" Ella asked as she back to the corner. The mysterious looked at Ella as if she has just lost her marbles.

"Ella, stop playing games and come eat your lunch. You lazy ass." the brunette girl said as she set the plastic on the small table not far from the bed. Ella tried to calm down to figure everything out. "Okay, this might sound weird. But I can't remember anything and I am definitely not joking." Ella said as she came near to the table.

"Ella..." the girls groaned but as the girl looked up to Ella and saw her crying. She knew her friend was dead serious. The girl quickly got up and checked Ella's temperature. "What have you've been doing when I was gone?" she asked. "I just woke up from a sleep, I was knocked out cold." Ella replied.

"What do you mean knocked out? Someone came in here?" she asked worried. "No, I was out and..." Ella stopped, the other girl waiting for her answer. "If I told you everything then you would think I'm crazy." Ella said frustrated on how anyone is going to believe in her.

"Try me." the other girl said while folding her arms. "I'm an elf from another world, and I have no knowledge on how I got here on earth." Ella said squinting her eyes. "Ah! Ella it's all in the past... you have to move on." the other girl said, and Ella was surprised with her statement.

"What do you mean its all in the past?" Ella asked as her head throbbed from all the confusion. "Ella on your 18th birthday. Your grandfather told you about all the stories he told you are true but you rejected the offer to go and you went straight here in New York. You're sister became the chosen one of Middle Earth." she said.

"Wait! How did you know about Middle Earth?" Ella asked, curious. "You told me and also your grandfather did too. He said it was strange because you were the one so interested in all his stories but you were furious when he told you." the girl said.

"Who are you? And why do you know my grandfather?" Ella asked. The girl groaned. "Ella we have been best friends for 6 years for God's sake." she said while putting her hands up in the air and she sat down at the edge of the bed.

Ella could feel pain for her, because apparently Ella has been her best friend for 6 years and she woke up one day forgetting about their friendship, and she realized it was gonna be hard for the both of them.

Ella sat next to her on the bed and put her hand on the girl's shoulder and said kindly "If you're my best friend, then you have to believe me on this one. I can't remember anything of my life here. All I remember is my life on Middle Earth. I could use a best friend who could help me out right now."

The girl smiled and whispered "Okay." While she dried the tears that was threatening to fall. "My name is Summer Adams, we have been best friends for 6 years ever since you were 18. we meet at Starbucks because we both worked there and now I am a Journalist while you are a model and is performing in broad way." Summer said.

Ella smiled and asked "How old am I then?"

"24, I am 26. I am from the state of California who came here with a dream of becoming a famous Journalist. You on the other hand already got your dream job." Summer said.

"What has happened over the years? My family? Grandfather? How did you know grandfather?" Ella asked. "Woah there, cowgirl! Slow down, we have plenty of time. It was simple, me and you. Going out to shop. We agreed that there will be no boys and we just fooled around. You took me to your photo shoots sometimes... Ella, your family died in a fire. Your sister traveled to Middle Earth to be the chosen one. Your grandfather hasn't visited you because when he tried to, you ran out of the building refusing to ever see his face again. That's when he talked to me that all the things you said were true because for a moment there I thought you've gone mad or something." Summer explained.

Ella looked down to the floor, soon she realized how she missed Legolas and her son, Thalion. Tears started to pour from her eyes. Summer came close and hugged her friend and said "I believe you now, because in all the years we've spent together I have never seen you with sorrow or with tears you were either happy or mad. Tell me what happened?"

Ella looked up and said "I wish I have remembered our friendship. You are such a good friend. But at the same time, I wish this has never happened. I was happy." Summer smiled and said "Then tell me how happy you were."

"I was the chosen one, I was thrilled to know Middle Earth was real." Ella said with pride as she continued. "I have journeyed with Grandfather and Arwen, my best friend there. I fell in love with Middle Earth and it's beauty. There was evil there and my destiny was to stop it. In the end it shall claim my life, Arwen and I spied on the secret council that was supposed to be the deciding on how to destroy the ring."

"Yes! Your Grandfather told me the story of the one ring and this Sauron guy." Summer said very interested in the story.

"There was this particular elf that caught my eye his name was, Prince Legolas son of King Thranduil of the Woodland realm. Ever since the night we have danced he promised me to always protect me. As we journeyed I had to block my feelings to protect him. In the end I almost died, but I didn't. I came back, later on... I married Legolas just about a year ago, We had a Son. I just gave birth to him 3 days ago. I was at the grave of my parents who died because my sister Ally betrayed me and the others. She worked for Sauron. I killed her myself for she killed our own parents. I heard foot steps and ran next thing I knew everything went black and I woke up here." Ella said trying to calm herself.

"Somehow I believe you." Summer said, Ella's eyes lit up. Ella soon embraced Summer. "But... if it's true then how are we gonna bring you back?" Summer asked while pulling away. "There is only one way and that's through my grandfather." Ella replied.

"But you haven't spoken to him in years, how is he gonna believe you?" Summer asked. While getting fries from the table. Ella had no appetite to eat, she wanted to go home, go home to Legolas and her son.

"He's our only hope." Ella said while she looked down again and tears started to fall again, Summer felt sad. "Then we shall try, we had fun over the last few years but maybe it's time to change. Maybe this life isn't real, and if you go to Middle Earth then I shall go as also." Summer said as she tried to put some hope on Ella's sad face.

***

Years have passed and there was no sign of her grandfather visiting, Ella grew more and more sad. If she was still an elf she would already have faded in grief.

Summer just couldn't take it anymore, she thought Ella would be happy again but she was wrong. Every night she had to listen to her best friend cry herself to sleep. Repeating over and over again "Legolas, Thalion. I will be home once grandfather comes. Please Lady Galadriel. Help me!"

Summer saw her best friend sitting on her bed just looking at the blank view of their wall. Summer then stood in front of her view and Ella said "You are standing in front of my view Summer." And over the years Ella grew more and more grumpier.

Ella was already 27. "Look! Nothing is gonna help us okay! Why don't we go on a vacation? You have been saving up for us to go to Paris or Bahamas. But if you want to go to like a Forest or mountain climbing or any of that stuff. We could." Summer said, Ella's eye lighten a bit and she replied "I do miss the trees, yeah. Maybe a hike in the forest might be good."
