SIXTEEN
special affair ~ the internet
"Where the hell is she taking us?" Michaela questioned in a hushed tone walking beside Laurel. "I think the point is that we don't know." Connor walked close by Wes- hands deep in his pockets, attitude evident in his voice. "Or she's just about to off us."
Annalise smirked with her hand in her daughter's, leading them to double doors. "You'd get no warning if I was gonna off you, Mr. Walsh. You've all been through hell. So have I. It's a miracle we're still standing. But tonight, we're gonna forget all about that."
Annora had no idea Annalise was speaking about the night of the bonfire. Instead she thought her mother was speaking on the long investigation.
She led them to the bar where she bought each of them a shot- her raised in the air. "To having some fun!" They all have a surprised grin on their faces as they too lifted their glasses. Annora harshly sighed as she down her shot- a burning sensation running down her throat.
She was more surprised than the others that her mother willingly let her drink alcohol. Annalise placed her glass on the bar before dancing off into the crowd.
Connor's brows rose before he also dropped the glass on the counter following her into the sea of sweaty bodies. Laurel pulled Michaela onto the dance floor with many protests until it was only Wes and Annora left at the bar.
The elder of the two glanced out towards the crowd seeing the fun they were having. She felt as if this was the only way to relieve the stress she had endured over the past few weeks. "Dance with me, Wes." He shook his head- not allowing himself to look at her as his mind was plagued with Rebecca.
"I don't dance." He huffed, taking a sip of the beer he held, as he felt her hand grip his and begin to tug him towards the crowd. Annora had a small frown on her lips as he wouldn't budge. "Why don't you go dance and I'll watch you from here."
She leaned forward between his legs- both hands settling themselves on his shoulders. His hand instantly reached out to her waist, waiting for her next move.
He gulped heavily when she began to lean in. Eyes moving down to her lips- the strobing lights shining against her skin in the dark room.
Annora parted her lips bringing them to his ear. He could feel the warmth of her breath flush against his ear, making small bumps rise on his skin. "We both know, Wes, that isn't enough."
Her lips accidentally running across his ear when she spoke softly. When she pulled back- Wes stared into her eyes before he tugged her closer to him.
Annalise watched from the crowd, coming over to the two. Wes felt the urge to run his thumb across her lips, and find the spot on her neck that makes shiver.
Though that was ruined when Annalise cleared her throat resulting in Annora stepping away from him.
"You can't turn down a woman who asks you to dance." Annalise danced in placed- smirking at Wes. She watched as Wes took his eyes away from Annora and towards Michaela's bag that was on the chair next to him. "But I have to watch Michaela's bag."
She placed her hands on each side of his face- making him look at her. "Wes, stop. You cant beat yourself up anymore." She leaned in whispering in his ear while his eyes connected with Annora's. "It's time to move on. So, come on."
Annalise removed her hands, pulling her daughter to stand in front of Wes. "Dance with her. Prove to me that you can do it."
Annora smirked- holding out her hand waiting for him to place his in her. Her brow lifted when his eyes flickered from hers to her hand.
He sighed before placing the beer on the counter and taking her hand allowing her to lead him to the middle of the floor.
When they reached the middle- he spun her around so they were facing each other. Wes hooked his fingers onto the loops of her jeans, pulling her into him. Her hands found their way to his neck, moving her body against his.
Wes moved his hand to the small of her back- turning her so his back was pressed up against her shoulders. Annora intertwined their fingers raising their arms into the air prior to bringing them down to her front. She moved his hands so they rested on the buckle of her belt.
Removing her hands from him- Annora brought them to hold onto his elbows. She allowed his hands to move against her jeans until they slid up to where her shirt had risen, revealing a inch of skin.
He resisted the urge to drag his hands up her stomach and under her shirt until goosebumps grew on her skin. Wes slowly ran his hand up her neck, holding her right under her jaw.
At the sudden action- her eyes closed and in response her head began to tilt back until it touched his shoulder.
She slowly began to open her eyes finding him staring intensely at her. She removed herself from him turning so their faces were close to each other. His hands gripped tightly onto her hips drawing her closer to him.
He brought his leg in between her making her fall into him. Wes' hand traveled back to her neck- thumb rubbing against the nape of her neck.
She bit her lip in response staring him directly in the eyes with a not so innocent gaze. He moved his thumb to her lip, watching as he slowly brought her lip from between her teeth.
His mind was racing with thoughts he had never thought about before. Beads of sweat forming on their skin but they didn't mind.
Her hands maneuvered their way to the back of his head pulling him down so he met her level. Wes watched as she parted her lips in anticipation.
That was the final straw for him- he brought their foreheads together, noses brushing against each other with every move. He brought their faces closer together. Inch. By. Inch. Until the warmth in his skin was replaced by emptiness.
Confusion laced his eyes watching her laugh as she moved away towards Connor who beckoned her over. Wes' ran hand down his face as he came to realization with what just occurred.
He stood watching her dance and laugh with Connor until he was cooled off enough to join the others.
The six of them laughed and danced for hours, growing sweaty in the heat of the crowds. For the rest of their night Annora and Wes continued to make eye contact in a way that make Wes' face heat and agitate him like no other.
In the middle of the night at the Hapstall home a gunshot rang out at the large house. Minutes later a familiar body ran from the home and onto the back lawn.
There stood Wes Gibbins, the most panicked anyone had ever been. A flash of regret crossed his face before he took off towards the woods.
