"Yuuji! What are you doing here?" Megumi asked. "I thought Sukuna said you couldn't come?"

Yuuji scratched his head. "Yeah, to be honest I really shouldn't be here. If Sukuna spots me here he's really going to beat me up." He looked around, anxious to see if Sukuna was anywhere near them, although he was probably still inside.

"Come on, we better get out of here before he sees me." Yuuji grabbed Megumi's hand and hoisted him up. "After all, you promised me that we would hang out for my birthday right? Well, it's my birthday, so let's go hang out!"

Megumi smiled. Maybe today wouldn't be so bad after all. "Yeah, let's go! Wherever you want. Lead the way."

Yuuji and Megumi ran away together, hand in hand, away from the venue. Yuuji didn't have any particular idea of where to go, so he just made random turns, letting the cool breeze lead his path. Finally, Yuuji spotted a park.

"Here! It looks like a good place for us to celebrate!" He said. "We can just use our cell phones for more light." He suggested. It wasn't too dark out, but Yuuji took out his cellphone for some extra light.

"Hmm," Megumi looked around. "Hey doesn't this remind you of last time? We ended up dancing together using music from our phones," Megumi remembered.

Yuuji walked across the sand box and sat on the nearest swing. Megumi followed and sat beside him. Yuuji made circles in the sand with his feet.

"Yeah, actually that's why I came in the first place. I had a feeling Sukuna would do screw up and do something to make you mad, so I wanted to be there for you just in case," Yuuji admitted.

Megumi turned to him. "You were there for me. Once again. Thank you," he smiled. A small blush crept on Yuuji's cheek. He wasn't used to being appreciated, and it felt even better coming from Megumi.

"N-no problem," he stammered the words out. "Really, I'd do anything for you Megumi." And then he got even more embarrassed. "Wait does that sound weird?" He asked.

Megumi laughed. "Not at all. It's actually really sweet. And cute."

Cute. Megumi called me cute, Yuuji thought. He felt butterflies rising up in his stomach.

And then Yuuji remembered. "Oh yeah, I got you something! It's a return gift for the valentine chocolates." He reached to his left and took something out from a small bag.

It was a mug. A hand painted mug. He handed it over to Megumi.

Megumi took it graciously. It was painted blue, Megumi's favorite color, and he painted an owl and two dogs on it, one black and one white. Megumi was touched. And he was also amazed at how pretty it looked.

"This looks amazing!" Megumi said. "But why did you get me something for your birthday? Shouldn't it be the other way around?" Megumi wondered.

"It's supposed to be a return gift for the chocolates you gave me on Valentine's day." He explained. "You gave me something homemade, so I wanted to give you something I made personally as well. I feel like homemade gifts really are more special."

Megumi looked at the mug appreciatively. "Thank you. It really means a lot. But I don't have anything for you right now." He said guiltily.

"That's okay," Yuuji brushed it off. "Just knowing the fact that you like the mug is enough for me."

But Megumi still felt bad. "Are you sure?" He asked.

"Yeah!" Yuuji confirmed. "I'm just glad I can be here and cheer you up a bit."

Megumi smiled. Yuuji really was always there for him. He was always the one that made Megumi happy.

He really is the one I want, Megumi thought.

"Actually I do have a gift for you." Megumi said. "Make sure you close your eyes." He instructed him.

Yuuji closed his eyes. "Hmm okay, but why-"

And then Megumi leaned in close, and kissed him.

"Happy Birthday, Yuuji."
