Jack found himself fighting Brenda's goons in the back of the place where Bobby was getting married. He and Jerry had found out that Brenda was planning on poisoning Bobby so she could get his money and his will. And now here they were trying to stop her.
Together.
Jack roundhouse kicked one of the men in the face, sending him crashing backwards and flipping over a table. He and Jerry had taken down five so far but there were at least eight more and Jack wasn't giving up. He never gave up. He wasn't going to let one of his idols get killed because this woman wanted to get money.
The day he ever gave up would be the day that Jack lost everything.
Jack took two on and drop kicked the one on his left before he jabbed the one on his right in the gut. Jack punched another in the face before he flipped backwards, kicking him in the face. One of the men came up behind him and grabbed him from behind, lifting him off of his feet.
"Jack!" Jerry yelled.
The man slammed Jack against a wall and picked him back up, so he was facing him. Jack kicked the man as hard as he could and struggled to get free but the man was so much stronger than he was.
"Get off me!" Jack shouted and began to kick and struggle more but it was no use. He yelped when the man slammed him against the wall again and brought out a needle. The man inserted the needle into his neck and Jack began to lose consciousness.
"Jack!"
💫💫💫💫
Jack woke up tied to a chair back to back with Jerry. His head hurt and he was sure that he had a concussion. It probably wasn't serious but that could be because he isn't feeling sick to his stomach or throwing up at the moment. Jack craned his neck, trying to see if Jerry was awake or unconscious. Turns out he needn't have for Jerry shifted and turned his head halfway.
"You okay Jack?" Jerry asked, worriedly.
Jack nodded, causing his head to start to pound a bit. "Yeah...I'm okay. Are you-"
"I'm fine." Jerry said.
Jack sighed in relief, unable to imagine how he would feel if Jerry was hurt and not okay. He didn't think his heart would be able to take it. As relieved as he was that Jerry was alright, he noted that the situation that they were in was a bad one and they needed to escape as soon as possible. They still had to stop the wedding and warn Bobby.
A door to his left opened and Brenda entered the room with two of her big bubbly goons standing guard outside the door while one of them followed her inside. Jack's eyes followed her every move with watchful alertness and careful observance. He didn't want her springing any undetected moves he can't see coming.
"Well, we have ourselves a predicament don't we boys?" Brenda asked.
"If you consider this a predicament lady, you should take yourself to Phil's restaurant," Jerry said. "Now there's a predicament for you."
Jack secretly adored Jerry's lack of ability to be serious in situations like this. It kept Jack from feeling really vulnerable and helpless. So if Jack cracked a small smile at Jerry's remark, no one would know.
Brenda rolled her eyes. "Listen to me. I don't want to hurt you boys but this wedding between me and Bobby has to be done." She paused before continuing. "I need money and this is the best way to get it it. Besides...who's really going go miss Bobby Wannabe?"
Jack scowled at her. "It's Bobby Wassabi and what you're planning to do is murder an innocent man."
Brenda eyed Jack in a manner that made him feel nervous and scared. Definitely not a feeling he ever wanted to feel again. Ever.
"It's not murder if it's ruled an accident. Or if it's ruled he died of natural causes like a heart attack." Brenda says. "And I am not going to waste this big beautiful diamond. I will marry Bobby Wannabe-"
"Wassabi!" Jerry and Jack proclaimed at the same time.
"Whatever. And no one will prevent this marriage. Not even you two meddling brats!"
Jack could feel Jerry fighting to undo his bonds on his wrists and he knew when Jerry had succeeded when he felt a hand on his own wrist, working to undo his ropes as well without drawing attention to their hands.
"You do know that even if we don't stop you, our friends will right?" Jack said glaring at her. "Brenda your plan is going to fail and when it does, you're going to prison for the intent to kill, attempted murder, assault, fraud, and conspiring to commit a crime. You'll be in prion for a long time."
Brenda stared at Jack for several moments before she moved to stand in front of Jack. Without a warning her hand lashed out, striking him across the face and sending his head snapping to the side. Jack could taste blood in his mouth and blinked back tears as his cheek began to sting. He heard Jerry suck in a deep breath and pause what he was doing as Brenda grabbed a handful of his hair and yanked his head back.
"Listen to me, Jack Brewer. I know all about you and your friends. I've been watching all of you for a while now. I know how each and every one of you act and what you do." Brenda leaned closer to him and whispered in his ear. "I won't get caught because you won't be around to tell anyone the truth."
Jack inhaled sharply and stared up at her, fear written all over his face. Did that mean she was going to kill him and Jerry?
"You won't kill us." Jerry spoke suddenly. "Do you want to know why?"
Brenda released her grip on Jack's hair and took a step back to look at Jerry. "Why won't I kill you?" She said, her tone suggesting that she was only humoring him.
"You don't wanna have anymore blood on your hands than you'll already have when you follow through with your plan to kill Bobby Wassabi." Jerry answered confidently.
Jack watched Brenda's reaction to Jerry's statement and realized that by her body language, Jerry was right. She wouldn't kill them when she already had to kill Bobby. In her mind, murdering one person was enough.
"So what are you gonna do if you won't kill us?" Jack demanded, dreading the answer.
An evil smile spread over Brenda's face. "I have ways of making people disappear." Brenda nodded to the goon in the room and he started forward.
Jack had never been so relieved when the ropes binding his wrists were removed and with a nod from Jerry the both of them jumped up, swinging their chairs at Brenda and the bulky bodyguard. They both knew that they would never be able to take on all three of Brenda's bodyguards so they sprinted for the door they came through earlier.
Jack heard Brenda screaming for her guards to stop them by any means necessary and he pushed himself to run faster. In truth Jerry was faster than him even though Jack used to run track and Jerry never had the training but that did not matter right now. Escaping to the reception room and warning Bobby was the only thing that mattered.
Jack and Jerry burst through the doors of the reception room, slamming the doors behind them. The reception room was empty except for Bobby, Rudy, Kim, a food server and Brenda's mother and father. They all turned to look at them with wide eyes and Jack realized that they must look like bats out of hell.
"Bobby, you can't marry Brenda! She's gonna kill you so she can get your money!" Jack told him as he pushed away from the door, knowing they didn't have much time. "She was gonna make us disappear because we found out the truth."
"I know the marriage seems too soon but she loves me and I love her!" Bobby exclaimed.
"No! Bobby, you don't understand! She-" Jerry tried.
Jerry was cut off by the doors slamming open and four of Brenda's goons and herself striding into the room. Jack took four steps back from the door so he was standing well enough from reach.
"Bobby you can't believe a word she says! She's lying to you!" Jack exclaimed.
Brenda glared at him, anger flashing in her eyes. "I am this close from killing you myself you little brat." She hissed.
"Brenda," Rudy starts. "What's going on? Is what Jack and Jerry said true?"
Brenda smirked and said, "I'm afraid it is. And now you two are going to have to pay the price for ruining my plans. Maybe before I wasn't going to kill you but I sure am going to now."
Turning to her goons, Brenda gave them an order. "Get them. Bring Jack to me though. I have plans for him."
One of her goons started toward Jack who backed away, knowing he couldn't take him on. Especially not in the condition that he was in at the moment. The man kept coming and Rudy stepped in to try to stop him by throwing a punch to his gut but it barely fazed the guy. Rudy was thrown to the side and Jack grimaced in sympathy.
"Brenda think about what you're doing! You don't want to hurt a child!" Brenda's father said.
Jack picked up a chair and decided to stand his ground. Shooting a quick glance at Jerry, who was locked in a evade and avoid dance, he knew he had to try something. When the man was close enough Jack swung the chair as hard as he could at him. He didn't even get the chance to follow through with the swing for the man grabbed the chair and wrenched it out of his hands, flinging it to the side.
The next thing Jack knew, he was being punched so hard in the gut that he doubled over, falling to his knees on the floor. Wheezing for air, Jack struggled to get the fuzzy dark spots in his vision to clear. The man grabbed him, making him stand but he struggled to get out of his grasp.
The man lost patience and swung his fist into his stomach once again and kicked him when Jack doubled over, causing a pained cry to escape his lips as he sank to the floor, cradling his stomach. Jack's chest rose and fell at a rapid speed and he fought to control the panic attack that was surely coming.
Looking up, he saw the man raise his fist to hit him again but before he could move his arm an inch, someone came crashing into the man, taking him to the floor.
Jack tried to stand but he could not with the amount of pain he was in. He hated being so vulnerable and helpless. Just as Jack collapsed onto his side, Jerry finished with the man. Seconds later Jerry rushed to his side, checking to see if he was still breathing. Seeing as though he was, Jerry sighed in relief but still pulled his phone out to call for an ambulance and the police.
Jack had been right about one thing. Brenda was going to jail for a very long time and she wouldn't see the light of day until she died.
