Reunion
"KAY!" Shinju screamed while grabbing the kunoichi in a tight hug. "Ok! Ok! Loosen...can't...breathe" Kay managed to get out and Shinju let go of her with a quick "Oh!" "So, kiddo, tell me what I've missed" she said smiling.
Sitting in a cafe with empty plates and tea mugs around them, Kay leaned back in her chair, chewing on a dango stick. "So, you mean to tell me that since I've been dead you've linked up with Kakuzu and Hidan, traumatized a young man, went on a murder spree for contracts, seemingly joined the Akatsuki, made Hidan your pet and you still hate Kakuzu. Am I caught up?" Shinju nodded. "You're a complex woman" Kay laughed, shaking her head.
"How did you, you know, come back?" Shinju asked. "Hmmm? Oh, Orochimaru revived me with some jutsu. It seems I have unfinished business with this 'Madara' and I'm thinking your Akatsuki could help with that".
Shinju stood up and gathered the dishes neatly on the table. "We've got a long trip back so we'd better get going". Groaning at having to move, Kay got to her feet and dropped the chewed stick. "Move!" Shinju commanded, prodding the other woman into action. "Alright alright! I'm going!" She complained as they left the small village.
After a week of taking the scenic route and stopping for food and supplies, Kay and Shinju finally made it to the Land of Rivers and the Hidden Valley Village. They booked a room and Kay flopped facedown on the bed when they got into the room. "Leave me here to die" Kay sighed. Shinju glared and smacked Kay upside the head. "Ouch! The hell?! Too soon?" Shinju ignored her and was looking at the pamphlet of services the inn offered. "...yeah too soon" Kay muttered as she rubbed where Shinju smacked her.
"They've got massages, manis and pedis, different mineral soaks, a hot mud bath that is supposedly good for your skin..." She trailed off looking at Kay. "What are you looking at me for?" She asked, suspicious of Shinju's motive. "I want to get all this pampering-" "Then do it" Kay cut in, "-but I don't want to go alone". She turned her soft brown eyes at Kay, widening them a little, pouted a little. Kay saw and sighed. "No. I'm not getting fucking girlied up. Not happening! NO!" Shinju approached her with a dark look on her face, weaving signs for her chains.
"I still don't understand how mud is supposed to be beneficial. It's wet dirt. The stuff we're told to not eat as kids" Kay ranted. With her hair in a towel and cucumber slices on her eyes, "Shut up and enjoy it" Shinju said while reaching for her mimosa.
The sun broke on the horizon and painted the sky in pinks, reds, yellows and purples. The feeble sunlight cast over the two women as they left the village and headed towards their destination: the Akatsuki hideout. Kay folded her arms behind her head and huffed. "What can I expect from these guys?" Shinju thought a moment before speaking.
"They're a bunch of S-rank criminals who do missions for Pein who is the leader, and some chick named Konan helps him. Zetsu is a weird man-plant-thing that does the spying, Hidan and Kakuzu you already know, Sasori who is a literal puppet, Deidara who I allegedly 'traumatized', Itachi-" "Don't you fucking say it!" "-does missions with Kisame". Shinju finished. A light blush appeared on Kay's face at the mention of the shark-man and Shinju smiled smugly.
"We're here!" She chirped. Kay kicked the boulder that served as the door to the hideout. "Well, open it. Might as well see my new temporary home" she said and Shinju stepped to the seal, made a sign and placed her chakra on the paper. With a loud rumble the boulder moved aside. Kay looked down into the dimly lit corridors saying "nothing screams 'you're gonna die here!' and 'serial killer!' like a crappy lit hallway".
She followed Shinju down the corridors and to her room. "Pein won't be back until tomorrow so you'll have to bunk in here. Unless you want to sleep on the couch and be at the mercy of a bunch of men" she snickered. "As tempting as that sounds I'll have to pass on this occasion" Kay said as she reached for her backpack and began rummaging through it.
"Or do you want to be in a specific man's bed?" Shinju cooed and Kay tensed up. "Nope. Right here is fine" she replied, patting the floor. "Are you shy?" Shinju teased. "Pfffft yes," Kay said rolling her eyes, "he's only a sweetheart with a body to die for!" Shinju laughed at Kay's discomfort saying "you'll run into him soon".
Pein called a meeting when he returned and all the members, including Shinju, attended. They gave their reports and Pein nodded, pleased that the missions were going well. "I have an announcement" he stated. Everyone looked at him, waiting to hear what the next task would be. "We're moving to phase two. We're going after the jinchurikii to feed the Gedo statue".
Blank faces met his. "That's it?! Just fucking kill the jinchurikii like it's a fucking walk in the fucking park?!" Hidan ranted. "If you can't handle them then stay behind. Let the better skilled members go" Kisame teased and grinned when Hidan turned red and began yelling at him. "I will hand the missions out later. Dismissed" Pein spoke while leaving the room.
Shinju started walking to her room but Hidan grabbed her wrist, pulling her to him. "How about we ditch these losers and spend some time together?" He asked, wiggling his eyebrows. She smiled and gently pushed him away. "Sorry, not feeling well" she said as she ducked into her room and closed the door.
Kay looked up from the book she was reading. "Well? What's up?" She asked. Shinju sighed, "the jinchurikii are the next targets. And I had to turn down Hidan's advances". "Yeah yeah, poor you, two men who love you. So tragic! Which team is assigned to which jinchurikii?" "Pein will hand out the missions later. For now, everyone is on standby".
Kay was awake and staring at the ceiling. She was thirsty but didn't want to leave the comfortable bed. Groaning softly, she left her warm cocoon and made her way to the kitchen.
Rounding the corner she saw the most delicious sight in front of her. Kisame was leaning against the counter, dressed only in a pair of black pants, as he waited for his tea to cool. Green eyes wandered over his body and she pressed her thighs together, already getting wet at the sight. She leaned against the door frame and crossed her arms. "Hello handsome" she said softly.
Kisame opened his eyes and looked at the doorway. "This has to be a genjutsu," he thought, "she's dead". He continued staring at her, taking in the curves revealed by her tank top and blushing a little as he noticed she was only wearing underwear.
She walked over to where he was standing and put her hands on his chest, feeling his muscles tense under her palms. She looked up into his eyes and smiled. "Did you miss me?"
