Prologue 3
Author's Note: The third and final part to Catty's Prologue. I've been working on a secret project that I've had since October last year. It's mainly rewriting and small editing cause I'm proud of it and want it to read good.
Don't get me wrong though. I enjoy writing this story and the rest of the Mightyverse, but I wanted to experiment with a new way to tell a long story. I don't be submitting this new story for a while though. I want to make sure it's at it's best before I post it.
With this story though, I'm just posting when I have a good cushion of parts done before I submit anything. We're starting to get into the good stuff with the story though. This part marks the true beginning to the conflict of this story.
I do hope I can get this story done.... I have so many ideas that I want to get through in the Mightyverse, but I guess it does let me plan things out better and delete what needs to be deleted.
Anyways.
Enjoy!

Grian's POV:
I spotted Scar waiting for me at his grand entrance. Upon noticing me, Scar quickly changed back into his wizard hat with a grin.
My feathers ruffled as I landed on the dirt ground and folded my wings behind my back. I fixed my glasses and looked up at the grand arch that was covered in multi-colored flags.
Scar waved his hand for me to follow, " We're going to start at one of my favorite places." he started, " The Wizard's Tower!" as Scar told me the name of the building, he waved his hand in a grand gesture.
My wings flapped as I looked up towards the crooked building that reflected the afternoon sunlight. On top of the building, I swore I saw the cat again.
I shuddered and looked towards Scar as he tilted his head, " Are you alright?" he questioned with a tilt of his head. I crossed my arms, " I thought I saw the cat again." I told him as my feathers ruffled.
Scar crossed his arms, " How can an untamed cat follow us that quickly?" he questioned with a tilt of his head. I shrugged my shoulders, " There's something weird about that cat, Scar." I told him as he nodded.
Scar frowned slightly, " Now you're making me kind of nervous, G." he uncrossed his arms and looked up towards the tower. I did the same and narrowed my eyes.
The cat was on the tower; however, it was now crawling down at a quickened pace. My wings flapped, " Let's uh, Let's go and visit your farms." I suggested as Scar nodded, " Yeah, sounds like a good idea."
The two of us walked away from the tower and towards the wheat farms. When we got there, the two of hopped onto the stone wall that Scar originally used to protect his villagers: Sadly, it didn't work too well.
My tail feathers swished as we sat on top of the stone wall.
" So, how long did it take you to do all this?" I motioned to the field then patted the wall we were sitting on. My wings flapped as Scar fixed his hat.
" Almost an hour. The farm was easier to do than the wall." Scar softly laughed as he looked around then frowned when he spotted something in the distance. My eyes widened slightly; please tell me he didn't see the cat again.
The hermit stood up and walked along the top of the wall and towards what looked like a hanging lantern that had been knocked down from its post.
I let out a sigh of relief.
The hermit frowned as he hopped down from the fence and picked the hefty, blue thing up. Scar looked over at me, " Do you think you can help me rehang this thing? The wall's too lopsided to balance a lantern on, and I can't jump up again with it in my arms."
I nodded and walked over to the pole of the lantern. My wings flapped, " So, how'd you get the lantern up in the first place?" I questioned as Scar handed me the lantern. I let out a small 'oof' as I held the unreasonably heavy lantern. Scar shrugged his shoulders, " Uh, I built the lantern before I built the wall." he answered.
With a small flap of my wings and a deep breath, I heaved the lantern upwards and onto the post's hook. After the lantern was stabilized, I looked back at Scar then up towards the field of wheat that Scar was standing in.
The cat!
" MREOOOOW!"
" SCAR LOOK OUT!"
In one quick motion, the strange cat pounced towards Scar with its teeth bared. In another, quicker motion, I got in between the two of them and received a sharp bite to where my neck connected with my shoulder.
I crashed to the ground and tumbled until I was on my stomach and holding onto the bite. Scar let out a loud gasp as he hurried over to my side and helped me to my feet.
" W-What the heck, Grian?" Scar spoke in alarm as he gently shook me. I let out a strained squawk and tried to shake the dizziness off. It took a few shakes, but I managed to recover. Well, no, I didn't recover completely.
I think I landed wrong.
My entire shoulder hurts, and there's another kind of pain that's making me feel sick to my stomach: I was desperately trying to ignore this pain though; I had bigger things to focus on anyways. The cat that I knocked off course from biting Scar was on all fours and shaking as well.
I blinked a couple of times as the cat started to hiss at the two of us and sharply turned its head in our direction. My wings spread out as I turned to wrap them around Scar.
The cat's tail thrashed as the hiss turned into a weird giggle of a high-pitched child. Scar and I both flinched as the cat slowly turned into a woman.
Everything started to burn as the cat changed. I looked down at my hand as yellow and white fur started to grow in large patched. I let out a pained squawk and looked back at my tail feathers as they started to fuse together as the bones seemed to grow.
I grabbed against Scar as my ears started to grow out and gain fur. The b ite.... The bite is doing something to me. I leaned further against Scar as he moved my arm around until it was on his shoulder, " I've got you, G-man." he whispered as I nodded.
I looked back at my newly formed blond tail and twitched it. Slowly, the tip of the tail turned a deep purple color much like the feathers at the end of my normal tail. I furthered leaned against Scar as my legs started to change too.
Scar shifted how he was holding me until I was up in his arms. The hermit looked up towards the woman as she fixed her gown, tail, and ears.
" It's a shame that this stupid curse still leaves me with some of these featuresss." She hissed as she looked up at us. The woman's angry demeanor soon changed when she saw me.
" Though, it seems like the bite worked well. I wanted the lanky wizard, but I guess that the prey to catkind works too." the lady purred at her remark. I let out a small hiss mixed with a squawk.
I looked up at Scar as he let out his own sort of growl, " You won't get away with this." he told the lady as she rolled her eyes, " Oh sweet stupid little hermit, " she mused as she held up-
" MY COMMUNICA-MEOW!" I yelped as I tried to point with my changing hand towards my communicator. The woman looked at my device, " Oh is that what this is? I thought it was one those teleportation devices that that mistake-of-cat made..."
The woman let out an annoyed growl and chucked the device back towards us. When it hit the grassy ground, a bunch of smoke came off of it; a kind of smoke that quickly filled the magical village.
I could hear the woman laughing as she disappeared into the distraction she created. Once the smokescreen cleared, the two of us looked around then at each other, " What do we do now Grian?" Scar questioned with a frown.
My now fully formed ears twitched as I looked down at my paws. We need to get help. We need to get Xisuma.
" Mrreowwww...." I opened my muzzle and tried to speak but only a meow came out. My ears lowered and so did my head. Scar narrowed his eyes, " Hmmm, I have a pretty good connection to cats, and I know how you think...."
Scar looked behind him and out towards his Nether portal, " So, my idea is that you want me to seek out one of our fellow hermits to help us stop this cat menace." he smiled at me. I nodded and meowed again.
The hermit nodded at me and moved his bag until it was against his chest. I gave him a confused look as he opened his bag and slid me into it along with my communicator and clothes. Afterwards, he zipped it up to where only my head poked out. I looked up at Scar as he adjusted his elytra and took out a rocket.
" Let's go!" Scar yelled as he jumped into the air and flew towards his Nether Portal.
