Chapter 17
Wassup my dudes
ahjdlfshl oh my G0D
because consistency is something i OBVIOUSLY have PROBLEMS with, *glares at past self and threatens to punch her* i rewrote parts of the chapter to be in 1st person past tense like the REST OF THE STORY because i wrote thE WHOLE CHAPTER IND 3RD PERSON PAST TENSE IM SO STUPID
also i added different POVs because somewhere in the story i switched from adrien's pov to marinette's pov and back to adrien and im not rewriting those scenes so yeah
and if y'all like the different pov's, tell me and i'll add them to the story! ^-^
also if you notice mistakes like this, plotholes, and/or grammatical errors and stuff, PLEASE don't hesitate to tell me so that i can fix them!
Adrien POV:
Marinette and I walked out of the movie theater laughing.
"Oh, no," Marinette gasped, "That was so bad."
I wiped tears from my eyes. "Right? It wasn't accurate at all. As much as I appreciate Chat Noir, I know that he doesn't "have a voice that's been blessed by God Himself and sing like an angel."
"And Ladybug doesn't love Chat Noir. It's the other way around."
"Yeah! Even toddlers can figure that out!"
"Right?"
We kept walking and making fun of the movie until we stopped at Marinette's door.
I ran a hand through my hair. "Wow. I didn't even notice that we had gotten here."
"Same. I guess time flies when you're having fun, huh?"
"I guess."
We stood in awkward silence before I spoke again. "We should-"
"I think I'm gonna-" said Marinette at the same time.
We blinked at each other before breaking down into laughter. "As I was saying," I said, "we should do this again sometime soon. Very soon. What do you say?"
Marinette nodded vigorously. "Yes. Definitely. Absolutely." She blushed. "I mean, yeah. We should. It'll be fun."
"Very. Anyway, I'm not going to keep you here all night. I had fun. Good night, Marinette."
"Night, Adrien."
Marinette POV:
Before either one of us could turn around, sirens started blaring. The sound shook the ground and soon enough, Parisians everywhere were screaming. Hawkmoth had unleashed another Akuma. Adrien and I looked at each other in alarm. Acting purely on Adrenaline, I grabbed Adrien's wrist and dragged him into the bakery. "Maman, Papa!" I screamed. Maman and Papa quickly ran from behind the counter and fought their way through the crowd of Parisians who had run into the bakery for shelter. When they reached me they engulfed me into a hug. Once they were done, I quickly assumed my role as leader. "Have everyone in the bakery go down to the basement. I saw some people running outside the bakery. I'll go get as many people as I can and bring them here." I looked at Adrien and released my hold on him. "Go with them. They'll make sure you're safe." Before I could run back out into the chaos and transform, Papa grabbed my shoulder.
"No, Marinette. You stay and herd everyone to the basement. I'll go."
I panicked. If I couldn't get out of the bakery, I couldn't transform. If I couldn't transform, then the Akuma will destroy Paris. "Papa-!"
Papa firmly shook his head. "I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something happened to you or Sabine." With a kiss to both of their cheeks, Papa took off his baker's hat, grabbed a rolling pin, and barreled out the door.
"Papa, no!" Maman gently tugged on my wrist and shook her head. "You heard your father. Let's get everyone to the basement. You too, Adrien."
Adrien, who had been slowly making his way to the door while my parents and I were talking, froze. "Oh, no. I can't my...father. He's probably worried sick right now. I bet that he has my bodyguard looking for me. If I don't turn up soon, there will be two monsters destroying Paris."
Maman shook her head. "Nonsense. Come here. Your father will understand if he asks questions. He will appreciate if we keep you safe. Stick close to Marinette. "
Adrien POV:
Mme. Sabine turned and walked behind the counter and into the kitchen. When she emerged, she was holding a cookie sheet and a wooden spoon. She climbed onto the counter and then banged the spoon against the cookie sheet. The commotion in the bakery stopped and Mme. Sabine dropped the cookie sheet. "Attention! Everyone, please follow me to the basement. We'll be safe there. Until the threat is over, we will remain there. Parents, keep a tight hold on your children and stick close to one another." Using her spoon, Mme. Sabine gestured to where everyone should start walking before hopping off the counter and leading the way.
I leaned close to Marinette. "Now I know where you get your amazing leadership skills from."
Marinette bit her lip and gave an absentminded answer. "Yeah."
Marinette was nervous, I could tell "Hey, it's ok. Ladybug will come to save the day. She always does."
"Chat Noir, too."
"Yeah." He might not make an appearance today, though.
Once we had all settled in the basement, Mme. Sabine turned on the radio. It was dead silent and everyone listened to the crackle of static, hoping that a voice would blare through. "Hey, I'm sure Ladybug is out there kicking ass right now," I said, trying to reassure both Marinette and myself.
"...And there has been absolutely no sign of Ladybug and Chat Noir! Has this Akuma finally won? Is Paris now under the control of Hawkmoth? Where are our heroes?"
I gulped and Marinette paled. No Ladybug and no Chat Noir. Crap.
Double crap.
Triple crap.
I need to get out of here. Fast.
i blame my absence on this thing: https://www.wattpad.com/story/190212057-marichat-may-2019
