Chapter 16
I collapsed on my bed right after de-transforming. "Plagg, I know what I'm doing for Marinette tomorrow."
"Good for you."
"I'm planning to first--"
Plagg quickly flew up and put his nubs up to my mouth. "Woah, I never asked what you were going to do."
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever, there's camembert in the fridge."
Plagg nodded. "Thank you." shortly over he flew away, I heard the fridge door open and close. What a glutton.
When I woke up the next morning, Plagg was nowhere to be seen. "Plagg?"
Silence.
I panicked a little. "Plagg now's not the time to pull pranks!"
Still nothing.
What happened? Was it an Akuma? Was it all a dream? Did Plagg never exist? Did the miraculous never exist? Did Hawkmoth never exist? Did-
"Mornin' kid." I whirled around to see Plagg phase through the fridge door.
"Plagg," I said angrily, "What did I say about sleeping in the fridge?"
My kwami scratched his head. "Uh...don't do it?"
"Yes! And what did you do?"
"Slept in the fridge."
"Plagg, I thought something had happened to you! You really had me worried."
"Sorry, kid. I'll remember next time. Promise."
I rolled my eyes. "Right."
Plagg flew up to my face. "Adrien. I'm sorry. I really am."
I sighed. "Ok. But as a punishment for making me worry like that..."
Plagg shook his head. "Don't say it..."
"No camembert for the rest of the day!"
"NO! Kid, Adrien, think this through!"
"Hmm. No." I turn away and start packing up for the school day.
"W-what if there's an Akuma attack? You--you can't starve me! You won't be able to transform! Adrien, please.
I smirked at him from the corner of my eye. "I won't starve you."
"Oh thank Gouda!"
"Gouda," I corrected. "Not Goo-da, how-da"
"Don't get me started Adrien."
I shrugged. "We both know it's actually pronounced how-da but whatever. Anyways, I won't be starving you, but you won't be eating camembert either. Instead..." I rummaged in the back of my fridge to find what I'm looking for. "You'll be eating this!" I turned around to show Plagg what I found. It's cheese analogue (A/N cheese analogue, if you didn't know, is the processed cheese that's wrapped in plastic). Plagg groaned and I smiled.
"Kid. Kid. Really? That's the least smelly cheese in the world. It's not even cheese! Where did you even find it? How did I not notice? Please don't make me eat that."
I shrugged again. "Be glad that I'm not making you eat a lemon or something."
"A lemon would be better than that--that--monstrosity!"
I shoved the cheese in my bag and headed for the door. "Come on. We're gonna be late for school."
Plagg reluctantly follows me out the door. "I'm never sleeping in the fridge again," he groans.
After I had gotten ready, I hopped into the limo and made my way over to school. When I got there, I saw Marinette sitting on the steps, most likely waiting for Alya. I made my way over to her and stood in front of her. She didn't notice me. She was bent over her sketchbook and her tongue was sticking out a little. It was adorable. "Hey Tikki," she began. "Think you could hand me my colored pencils?"
I tilted my head. "Who's Tikki?"
At the sound of my voice, Marinette instantly stood up, causing everything on her lap to fall on the ground. "A-Adrien! Tikki? Who--Who's Tikki? I, uh, s-she's bag talking Japan! Erm, what I me-meant to say was that she's my talping bag from Bapan! I named her...ha,ha."
I gave her a small smile. "Oh, ok. So can she do other things than talk?"
"Um...yes! S-she can do almost anything you command her to do? Let--let me demonstrate. Er...Tikki, move to the right." A few seconds passed and nothing happened. Suddenly, her bag slowly inched itself to the right. Marinette grinned and pumped her fist in the air. "Yes! Thank you, Tikki!"
A high-pitched robotic voice answered her. "You are welcome, Marinette."
I smiled again. "Impressive. You seemed surprised when she responded to your command."
Marinette's fist lowered and she giggled. "Um...well I--I just got her so I'm still testing her? My aunt's always sending me crazy stuff from Bapan."
I smirked. "Japan." I corrected.
"Uh, Japan. Right. Did I not say that?"
I laughed. "It's fine. Hey, um, I have nothing going on today and I was wondering if you maybe wanted to hang out? I don't mind where we go-"
Marinette cut me off. "YES! I...I mean," she coughed. "S-sure, I'd be happy to go somewhere with you?"
I grinned. "Great! So...maybe we could go to the movies? I know that the Ladybug and Chat Noir movie came out so maybe after school?"
Marinette blushed. "Oh, you mean Miraculous? Yeah, sure. I-I'll go you with. With you," she amended.
"Cool! I'm so glad that it finally came out. It took forever."
Marinette seemed to loosen up a bit. "Right? It was supposed to come out what, two years ago? It kept getting delayed! It annoyed me to pieces!"
I chuckled. "It annoyed everyone to pieces."
Marinette beamed up at me. The sight stopped my heart. "Yeah-" she stopped and looked behind me and instantly paled. "Uh...A-Alya's here. Gotta go I. I...g-go. Er...Bye!" She snatched up her things and sprinted towards Alya, almost tripping in her haste. I sighed. It's always so good to talk to Marinette when she's relaxed. Why did the moment have to end? What did I do? I looked over my shoulder and saw Marinette with her head in her hands and Alya laughed. I sighed again and trugded up the school steps. Inside my jacket, I hear Plagg snicker.
"Tough luck, kid."
"Shut up, Plagg."
