Ch. 32: Catnap Receives a Letter

The next day, back in L.A. You and Catnap are up. So are Huggy, Charlene and Kitty. Kitty is now living there, too. Charlene didn't mind, though. She welcomed her. Anyone struggling, she'd help as much as she can because unlike her own parents, she herself is a saint.

And Kitty is still in her new apparel. The grungy look. Her true side she had always wanted to let out. She's been shopping at this place that sells clothing like it called Rad Attack. She felt like she was in heaven when going in there. She got at least five to six articles of clothing.

Charlene informed her that she'd help get her more to embrace her true self. Kitty thanks her. Kitty is currently wearing a white Hole shirt, blue shorts, Vans shoes, etc. Just expressing herself, now that she has that chance.

Catnap is in the kitchen, sitting at the table. You're in there with him after getting dishes washed. You look over at him and you say, "Catnap? You alright, love? Something seems to be on your mind." He looks at you and he says, "I sent a letter... to Baltimore." You say, "Come again?" You walk over and you sit next to him saying, "To who? Is it Dog Day?"

He says, "Yeah. I just... I couldn't hold it back. While you were asleep, I was up and writing the letter. I went downstairs to put it in the mailbox to be sent just a couple of days ago. Please don't be mad at me?" You say, "Catnap. Why would I be mad? I understand, darling... You miss your friend. I miss my family."

He looks at you and he says, "Sometimes I wonder if we did the right thing by leaving." You say, "Baby. You would've been arrested if we didn't. We both know this. And Huggy, too. He did worse than you did."

He says, "Heh. I didn't know anybody was up the other night and he was in the kitchen, butt naked and raiding the fridge. He didn't either." You stifle a laugh and you say, "Really now? Too funny." He says, "Meh. All that was on my mind was Dog Day at that moment. Huggy lives here now, anyways. He's with the owner of this penthouse."

There's suddenly the chime of the doorbell and you and Catnap look over. Charlene walks over and says, "I got it!" She opens the door and the keeper of the keys is there. He's got a letter in his hand and he says, "Uh, hey dudette. I got this for you. It's a letter from someone named..." He looks at it saying, "Dog Day." Catnap hears this and he sits up. His cat ears perking up a bit, as well. You say, "My god. He wrote back to you, love."

Charlene says, "I see. I have someone here who knows him." She takes it and says, "Thanks, Trevor." He says, "Anytime, dudette." He leaves and Charlene shuts the door. Kitty happened to have seen him and she smirks and says, "Ooh, wow. That's your keyholder? He's cute." Charlene smirks and says, "Don't press your luck, sweetie. He's taken." Kitty says, "Damn. Oh well."

Charlene approaches Catnap and gives him the letter. He takes it and he looks at it. He sighs and he says, "I didn't expect a letter back." You say, "Babe. If you want time to read it, head for our room." He stands up and he says, "I'll be right back." He walks off. You sigh.

He gets in yours and (Y/N)'s room and he shuts the door. He says, "Oh man. I wonder what he had to say. I won't be surprised whether it's good or bad but... I just need to hear from you, Dog Day buddy." He opens the envelope and he gets the letter out. He unfolds it and reads it.

"Dear Catnap,

I got your letter. I read every bit of it. I have to tell you... It really struck me. Right in the heart. I didn't think you'd ever respond to me, again. Not gonna lie. Trust me. I regret calling the cops. I had to because of the kidnapping. You did take our friend. But YOU have always been my best friend of all time, Catnap. I hate that things went to shit for us afterwards. I know. But I know you knew something about me for years."

Catnap sighs and says, "This has to be about Darla." He continues reading it.

"About my sister... Darla."

Catnap says, "I knew it." He continues reading.

"If you told (Y/N) about her, it's okay. She has to know, anyways. I've been hiding that for so long because it would break me if I spoke out about it. She was my baby sister. And that day when Mommy's piece of shit of a mother kidnapped her and murdered her... it was the worst day of my life. I hope one day you come back and give Mommy Long Legs what she deserves since you can't with her mom anymore, now that 'she' is gone."

Catnap says, "Believe me, buddy. It's my main goal. She's a manulative bitch, she's threatening US, she felt no remorse for what her mom did to your sister. When (Y/N) and I come back... Mommy's through. Through to join her own mommy in Hell where she belongs." He continues reading.

"I have so much I want to say to you, but for now I can only do it by letter. I've been through a lot of depression since you and (Y/N) left. And it's MY fault. I drove you away, buddy. I'm so sorry. I wish you had it in you to forgive me. I did it because I thought about my own baby sister being kidnapped... and never coming back to us, again. She was so little and so innocent. And that old cunt killed her. Mommy is just like her. A remorseless, conniving, evil wench with no regards for anybody's feelings. I know about her recent intentions, too. I found out recently after seeing her at a bar while Vicky and I went for a couple of drinks. She was telling herself about her plan to be rid of (Y/N) and to have you to herself."

Catnap says, "Holy shit. He knows that?" He reads more.

"(Y/N)'s lucky to still have her own little brother around, today. Be careful coming back, buddy. I feel as though you'd rather deal with the police if they see you than to deal with what Mommy has planned. I don't want anything really horrible happening to you. When you come back and you see me, I've got your back this time. I can't stand being separated from you any longer, Catnap. I love you too much, my feline friend. My brother from another mother. You get it. Please come back? You and (Y/N). Huggy as well if he can. I want us to reconcile.

Sincerely, Dog Day."

Catnap sighs and he drops the letter. He says, "Oh god, Dog Day. Why are you doing this shit to me right now?" He puts his hand up to his face and he grits his teeth. He whispers, "F-fucking hell." Tears start to develop in his eyes. He hears a knock on the door and he hears you yelling, "Catnap! You okay in there, sweets?"

You open the door and you look to see him looking away. Hand up to his face. Letter on the ground. You walk over and you bend down to pick up the letter. You read it and you gasp. You set it aside and you pull Catnap in for a hug. He wraps his arms around you and he holds you close. He starts to sob out of control, letting out his emotions.

You rub his back and you say, "It's alright, lovey. Just let it all out. I know you really miss Dog Day. Shh shh. It's alright, now. I'm here for you, Catnap." He says, "D-don't ever leave me, (Y/N)." You whisper, "I never will, baby. Your Kitten's right here, yeah. I love you so much, darling. So very much." You kiss him on the cheek and you comfort him the rest of the time.
