The next day, you and Catnap are out and looking for that place to work at. The fancy Italian restaurant. Catnap is still kind of reluctant about it though since you guys are in California and you'd assume once they find out you're from a different location further from where they are, you'll be deemed trash or dirt poor.

Sadly though, you and Catnap are about to reach the stage of dirt poor if you don't get this job or any job, asap. And you're running low on money after staying at quite a few hotels. You are in California and it's more expensive to live there than it is in Baltimore, Maryland. But you both had to get away to avoid Catnap being sent to prison for kidnapping.

You're both in the car right now. You're driving this time since he drove both of you all the way from Baltimore to Santa Ana, California. The car radio is playing Two Princes by Spin Doctors. You're singing to it a bit.

You're on your way to that place you've mentioned. Valentino's. Catnap says, "I still get a weird feeling about this. We could've just taken a job as diner workers." You say, "Catnap. Baby. Don't sweat it. We'll be fine. Trust me on this." 

He says, "Alright. I'll take your word for it." You smile and you continue driving. Catnap has the map to the location of the restaurant. He says, "We're almost there. Turn left on... Rockford Lane." You say, "Got it."

You get to Rockford Lane and you turn left. You look around and you spot it. Valentino's. It's on the corner. You say, "Ah, here we go. Right here." You slowly pull at the side and you park. You get the key out of the ignition and you both get out. You say, "I'll drive us back. I've got your key." He says, "Appreciate it, Kitten." 

You and Catnap walk towards Valentino's and you head inside. You see a waitress walk towards you and she smiles and says, "Hi. May I help you two, today?" You say, "Yeah, actually. My boyfriend and I were wondering if... we could apply for a job here." 

She says, "Oh?" Catnap says, "We just moved here." She says, "Okay. Come with me and meet the manager, himself. Mr. Joe Valentino." Catnap says, "Appreciate it, Miss." You follow the woman. She says, "By the way. I'm Charlene. One of the waitresses here." You look at her and you see the great figure on her.

You say, "You have a great figure there, lovey. Just pointing that out." Charlene smiles and giggles saying, "Thanks. You do too. So does he. They hired me on the spot when I showed up. I honestly didn't expect that. I was always... socially awkward." You look at Catnap and you say, "See? We'll be alright." Catnap sighs and nods. You grab his hand. She says, "I know you two sure as well will land this job."

She looks at you and she says, "We've been waiting for somebody with an accent like yours." You smile and you say, "Thank you. I'm originally from Australia." She says, "I hear it. They'll love you here. What are your names?" You say, "I'm (Y/N) (L/N)." Catnap says, "Catnap." Charlene says, "Wow. He's really cute. Just saying." You smile and you say, "Isn't he?"

She leads you to an older man with short black hair that looks somewhat shaved. He sees you and Catnap and he eyeballs you for a moment. He looks at Charlene. She says, "They want a job here." He says, "Aha... I see." He yells, "Cecilia!" You see an older woman walk in. She has wavy black hair with a bit of gray in it, a black shirt, blue jeans, etc.

She says, "New ones to work at our restaurant?" Joe nods and says, "Correct, dear. What do you think of them? Something tells me they're a bit... fit to work here." She looks at them and she says, "Hmm..." You grin. Catnap nearly sweats. You notice and you whisper, "It's alright, baby." Cecilia says, "A little check." You and Catnap look at her.

She suddenly approaches you and Catnap. She puts her hands on your sides and feels around you. She says, "Hmm... Mhm... Alright." She moves away from you and gets to Catnap. She looks at you saying, "Don't be mad at me for feeling up your man, girlie."

She does the same to him. She says, "Aha... Alright." She moves away. Joe looks at her and says, "So?" She looks at her and she leans in and whispers something to him. You and Catnap hold hands. Charlene says, "What is it, mom?" You say, "Wait. Are they your parents?" She looks at you and nods saying, "Yeah. We've owned this restaurant since I've been born. I'm twenty years old." 

Cecilia says, "Judging from what I've felt on both of you..." You and Catnap hold each other's hands. Joe and Cecilia both smile and say, "You're hired!" You look at them. You say, "W-wait. We are?" Cecilia says, "Yes. Both of you... but." You and Catnap look at her.

She leans in and smells you both. She says, "The two of you could use some washing up. You're both beautiful people and would be perfect for this job. Just be clean... Charlene." Charlene says, "Yes, mom?" Cecilia says, "Take these two into your place. Understand? Get them cleaned and prepped for this job. They're fit for it, but they're dirty." Charlene says, "Yes, mom." 

You and Catnap grin and you look at each other. He says, "I guess you were right, Kitten." You say, "See? We got it. But... I wonder why." Charlene says, "Come you two. I'll get you to my place. We'll come back so you guys can get to your car." 

You look at Charlene and you say, "Charlene... We appreciate this, lovey. We've traveled far from our place." Catnap says, "She's not lying. We got here from Baltimore." Joe says, "That's far away." Charlene says, "You two stay with me. I have a spare bedroom you can stay in."

You smile and you say, "Charlene. You're a life saver, lovey. Thank you." She says, "Anytime. Come with me and you can shower at my place. Um... Mom. Dad. When do they start?" Cecilia says, "Tomorrow." Joe says, "Yeah. Both (Y/N) and Catnap here. Two beautiful people." You and Catnap look at them. Charlene says, "Guys." You look at her. You look to see Cecilia and Joe walk away.

You look at Charlene. She looks around and she leans in saying, "Guys... The reason my parents are hiring you is that you're both extremely attractive." You say, "No matter. We'll take any job we can get. We're low on money after staying at so many hotels on our way. We did travel from the opposite side of the island." 

Charlene says, "I'll take you guys in. But trust me on this..." She looks around and she looks at you and Catnap. She whispers, "I wouldn't care how you guys look. I'm only here myself because my parents find me beautiful just like the two of you." You look at her with concern. She says, "Come on. Let's get you two cleaned up, huh? You've been through enough." You head out with Charlene.
