"At last I've found yee little Thief!" I said blocking the girl's path so she couldn't escape.

"I don't know what your talking about. I'm not a thief. Please don't kill me." The girl replies.

"Why would I kill you? A much better plan I have for yee, soon my bride you will be."

"Wait. Let me make a bet with you."

"What kind of bet my Pet."

"I bet I can guess what you'd like instead of a bride. If I guess right then you must set me free."

"Deal! I'll give you three chances to appease me." I replied slightly amused.

"I'll give you anything you desire, money?"

"No. I don't need that."

"Jewels?"

"Wrong again. One more guess is all you get my Pet." The leprechaun said with a smile.

Crystal thought long and hard. There had to be something the leprechaun would want. He wants to make me his bride because my family stole his gold. "I've got it!" Crystal said with a smile. "A leprechaun loves only one thing I am told, what you want would be your gold."

The leprechaun frowned "ah while this is true you'll pay me what I'm due. My bride you shall be for you tried to trick me. You said you didn't know what I was taking about when I said you stole me gold and that's lie you shouldn't have told. Now where's my gold?!" I said frustrated.

"You'll just have to wait and see."

"Don't play games with me my pet for if you do it will be something you'll live to regret. I want me gold."

"So you've told me time and time again. I'll show you where your gold is my love. It'll be my wedding present as will be the man that stole it from you. All I request is a kiss."

"What kind of trickery is this? For my gold all you require is a kiss? You'd better not be playing games with me for I will make you pay for betraying me do you understand me my bride to be?"

Crystal nodded, "it's this way my love." she said with a wave of her hand. "After you my husband to be" Crystal said with a smile.

I looked at her warily "you take the lead, and if you try and trick me you'll bleed."

"As you wish. Your gold is in there" Crystal said pointing to a cast iron safe dangling on a hook above a lake.

"I warned yee not to try and trick me." I frowned everyone knew cast iron would strip a leprechaun of their powers. "You know I can't touch that you brat!" I said turning to my bride frustratedly.

"Time to end this game." The lad standing by my gold states.

"You think this a game? You truly are insane what happens now you only have yourself to blame."

"You want your gold then free my fiancee or I'll drop your gold into the lake and you'll have to go retrieve it yourself!" A young lad said with a cocky smile.

I sighed "why do it myself when I can have you do it for me?" I said standing next to the lad. "In fact, some insurance is needed I think" and with that I bit the boy.

"No!" Crystal screamed knowing what the bite would do.

"I warned yea lass there would be a penalty for trying to double cross me. Now get me my gold!"
The girl nods and hands me my pot of gold.

"Now it's time to pay the piper! I curse I place upon yea and your kin, as is proper the lady shall go first. The curse of the banshee shall forever haunt yee."

"As for the lad obsessed with gold he shall be and will die by the age of 40. Because you threatened me gold young lad, this curse I add to thee. I shall return before you die and take from you what you love the most!"

Crystal began to sob "Please, I'll do whatever you wish, I'll  be your bride. Please don't curse him to die."

"Your tears will do you no good for I'm badder then a gangster from the hood. What's done is done it cannot be undone" and with as evil a laugh as I could muster I grabbed my gold and disappeared into the night.
