The contract is broken?

When Maurice returned home Crystal was anxious to hear what had happened.  "So? Did you find the leprechaun King?"

"Yes." Maurice replied.

"Did he vow to make things right? Are we going to get out little girl back?" Crystal asked.

"No. Unfortunate He can not help." Maurice replied.

"What do you mean he can not help?" Crystal asked confused and also a little irritatedly.

"He has no power over this leprechaun. Evidently the leprechaun who took Catherine is his nephew and only his father can undue our daughter's deal."

"So let's find his father then." Crystal replied.

"His father is dead. No one has any authority over him. His deals are binding and no one can undue them except him not even his Uncle the leprechaun King." Maurice replied.

"Then it's hopeless. We've lost our daughter forever." Crystal replied slumping into the chair.

"No, all is not lost there is yet a glimmer of hope. He told me that based on what I told him that his nephew never fulfilled his vow. If Catherine realizes that he never fulfilled his end of the bargain then the contract is voided."

"Just how is she going to realize that?" Crystal asked.

"I'm not sure but I'll figure something out." Maurice replied.

Meanwhile, back at the rest home Catherine watched as her husband paced back and forth. "Sweetheart, what's the matter?" She asked placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Tis nothing my dear now leave me alone." Jareth replied shrugging her hand off and continuing to pace.

"I know somethings bothering you. You haven't been acting the same since my grandfather mentioned sending my father in search of the leprechaun King." Catherine replied.

"Will ye just shut up lass! I need to think." Jareth replied glaring at her.

Catherine was taken aback she didn't know what was bothering her beloved and he seemed reluctant to tell her. In fact, he was being down right mean. "Have I done something wrong?"

"I said keep your mouth shut!" The leprechaun replied using his magic to hold her in a choke hold. Next time do as I say I Don't like it when you disobey. Do I make myself clear my dear?"

Catherine swallowed "yes."

"Yes what?" Jareth asked a hint of irritation in his voice.

"Yes my husband."

"Thats the wrong answer my pet respond wrong again and it'll be something you'll live to regret." Jareth replied.

"I do not understand why have you stopped loving me my love?" Catherine replied between gasps for breath.

"I do not nor have I ever loved thee. You are not my bride you are my property." Jareth replied.

Catherine eyes filled with tears and she looked away from Jareth momentarily. "Jareth, why are you doing this to me?"

"As I said you mean nothing to me. You are my property and that's all you'll ever be." Jareth replied

"Does this mean that I am free? Can I return to my family?" Catherine asked lowering her eyes slightly.

"No. Your mine and mine you will stay. From this day on my slave you'll be now and forever throughout eternity." With that Jareth snapped his fingers and the necklace he had given her disappeared and the golden choker reappeared upon Catherine's neck. As soon as it did Catherine was able to breath once more.

Catherine let out a sigh of relief but it soon faded. "What have I done that I no longer worthy of your love?"

"That's none of your concern and not to question me is a lesson you must learn." Jareth  replied snapping his fingers causing the collar around her neck to tighten"Being married to you is too much of a bore. A beautiful lass is what I long for. Now follow me my slave and speak to me no more."

"Yes Master." Catherine replied gasping for breath. "Master please."

"Please what?" Jareth demanded irritatedly

"Let me breath." Catherine replied gasping for breath between each word.

"Tis true, Your no good to me dead." Jareth replied snapping his fingers allowing Catherine to breath once more. "Now since I've spared you from the grave I shall remind you of the pledge you gave that now and forever you'd be my slave. Now help me find the girl that I'll wed."

"Yes master." Catherine replied with a sniffle looking down at the ground and following him. Her gaze turning into a snarl of hate. How dare he toss her aside "leprechauns of old hear this vow I make today. Help me make my husband pay no one else shall be his bride it's time he learns to swallow his pride." Catherine muttered underneath her breath as she followed him to their cave.

"What was that you were saying me lass?" Jareth asked turning to her.

"Nothing."

" I know that's not true now tell me the truth before you turn blue. I may have spared you from the grave but that doesn't mean you should lie to me my slave. Your being dead or alive makes no difference to me forever more my slave you'll be." Jareth replied.

"I was recalling the day we made our marriage vow. Why didn't you just kill me instead of toying with me?"

"Prey tell, what vows do you speak of my slave? Do you truly wish that you were in your grave? I'll grant that desire if you don't behave."

"I am talking about the wedding vows we took. Those vows were Eternally binding thats what you said. Yet, now you claim I was never your bride. If that is indeed true then it means that you lied. Which means that you must have lied about freeing my family once I became your bride."

Jareth smiled evilly. "Yes ''tis true I lied to you. You were never meant to be my bride. Yet, forever you shall be by my side. I shall never let your family be for they stole what's precious to me."
