i'm in love with max joseph aight.

QOTC: do you think it's actually patrick that pete has been talking to?

"I didn't know any of this.." Pete says after Nev and Max explain the whole thing about Patrick not being completely honest with him. "He told me he was fully gay and had only dated one woman in his life, he had no kids, and that he was in a no name band. He never mentioned a thing about a solo album," Pete continues, putting his head in his hands. "You guys don't think that he's actually Patrick Stump, do you?" Pete has to know. He has to. These guys have been doing this for long enough to know whether or not this is Patrick or not.

"There's a chance it could be him," Nev says. He always tries to be positive. Max shakes his head.

"I, honestly, do not think so. He's lied about way too much," Max says. Pete drops his head. "But Nev is right. There's always a chance that it could actually be him," Max says. Pete picks his head back up.

"So there's a slim chance but probably not?" Pete concludes. Nev and Max share a look.

"Basically. Sorry, kid," Max pats Pete's back. Pete just sighs. "You wanna be alone?"

"I appreciate you not filming this, dude," Pete tells Max. "Yeah, I wanna be alone, if that's cool with you guys,"

"No problem, Pete," Nev smiles warmly at him before grabbing his hot chocolate and following Max out of the door.

"Damn," Max says. "Why do people do this shit to begin with?" Max asks. They reach their shared hotel room with Max swearing under his breath.

"It's okay, Max. It's going to be alright," Nev smiles again. Max almost forgets everything when he sees that beautiful smile. Almost.

"No, Nev, it's not. A bitch did it to you, and now a bastard is doing it to Pete! He's a nice guy, and even if he wasn't, no one deserves to be treated like that. No one deserves to fall in love with an idea! With someone they don't know,"

"Max-" Nev gets cuts off by Max slamming down his hot chocolate.

"Stop telling me it's going to be okay! It's fucking not, okay? It's not!" And then he rolls his eyes at Nev's surprised face, grabbing his hot chocolate. "I'm going for a walk," He mumbles before he's gone.

"Jesus," Is all Nev mumbles. He's extremely glad that none of the crew were in here when that little outburst of Max's happened.

He lies on the bed for who knows how long just thinking about Max.

There's a knock on the door that breaks Nev out of his thoughts. He visibly shakes before going over to the door.

There stands Max with tears streaming down his face. He engulfs Nev in a hug.

"I'm sorry," Max whispers in Nev's ear. It only makes Nev hug him tighter.

"It's okay, Max, it's alright," They stay in the hug in the doorway of their hotel room until the wee hours of the morning.

"Nev, I have something to confess," Max says suddenly. They break apart and come in, shutting the door. They both have tear stains on their faces. "I love you," He looks away shyly.

Nev's whole world stops. He doesn't breathe for several seconds. Max tries to search his face for anything other than shock.

"Say something, Nev. It took a lot of courage to be mmph," Max is cut off by Nev leaning in and kissing him. Max is shocked for point one seconds before he respondes and tangles his hands in Nev's hair.

"I love you, too, you idiot," Nev whispers before their lips reconnect and Nev is pushed down on the bed with Max straddling his hips.

Let's just say that the extra bed in the room that was supposed to be Nev's went unused that night.

--

"I see you've finally come to your senses, correct?" Pete asks, grinning wildly at their joined hands. Nev blushes and tries to pull away, but Max just holds his hand tighter and nods.

"We have," Max smiles. "Now Nev's going to call Patrick, if that's cool with you,"

"I'm cool with that. I just want to meet him. I don't care who he is. I know we have a connection," Nev smiles at Pete's words, squeezing Max's hand. Max sends a reassuring squeeze back before they both let go so Nev can dig his phone out of his pocket.

After typing in the numbers, he takes a deep breath and hits the call button. It takes three ring for a smooth and deep voice to pick up.

"Hello?"

"Hey, man, this is Nev. I'm a friend of Pete," Nev says. The other side goes silent before the voice speaks again.

"Nev Schulman?" Patrick asks. Nev just laughs.

"That's me. Look, I was wondering if you'd be up to meeting Pete, Max, and I? He seriously is in love with you and wants to see you," Nev explains. The other side goes silent again.

"Sure," Patrick says finally. "I haven't been completely honest with him, but yeah, I'll meet up with him," Patrick agrees.

"That's great. I'll text you later after I book our flight. I'm sure Pete will be ecstatic to hear that," They exchange goodbyes before Nev hangs up and turns back to Max and Pete. "He said he'll meet up with us. Boys, pack your bags. We're going to Chicago,"
