"Wait... So Jack's mom was a Supernatural?" Cole reiterated as we sat on one of the beds in our room. "Does that make him one of us?"

I gave him a 'seriously?' look. "Does one of your parents have powers? Grandparents?"

He scratched at the back of his neck. "Well, no..."

"However we're made, it's not directly hereditary or dominant, so no. Jack is not a Supernatural. You can see that in his eyes. But it does lead me to think about the facility... He mentioned that everyone was here by choice, yeah?"

He stared at me as if he didn't understand what I was getting to. "Yeah...?"

"And the government doesn't want humans to know about us, right?"

"Of course."

"So I think everyone who works for this branch has a past like him or something similar. Their parents or someone close to them had powers and they were exposed to it, making them candidates for this position. If not, think of all the people who have kids when they have powers? They would have to use them at some point then their kids would know and blab about it to the whole world. There needs to be some place for humans who were exposed to our world, yet still be secluded to keep it a secret, and this is it."

"So they're in a prison just like us," he concluded, making me think about it a bit more.

"Yes... No... maybe. I think it all depends on their past. I can see someone like Jack being interested in this work to get back at the Catchers for killing his mother."

"You know, Brain..." He scooted closer to me, a smile on his face. "You're a bit smarter than I give you credit for. Everything you say makes sense. Maybe you should get into Jack's head again and see what else he has up his sleeve."

"I don't know how to do anything else but get into withheld memories..." I admitted. "But if you wanted, I could practice on you--"

"Ha, funny. You're not getting into my head that easily."

"I told you, I have no desire to know your dirty little secrets."

He gave me a snarky grin. "Well, they are dirty--"

"Cole!"

"Kidding!" he laughed, engulfing me in a giant hug that pushed us both over onto the bed. "There are some... scandalous things on my mind though."

"Like what?" I inquired, now leaving the hug but remaining on my back so I could stare up at the blank ceiling.

"Our kiss."

I groaned, throwing a pillow over my face. While I knew this conversation was coming, I was planning on holding back on it as long as possible. "Cole--"

"Hey, don't 'Cole' me, You know we need to set things straight about what happened because, to be quite honest, you're not too clear about your feelings about it and I thought it was really good.. Great even--"

I quieted him by sitting up and placing my hand over his mouth. His cheeks were just the faintest bit red and his eyes were silently thanking me from stopping his rambling. "I loved it. Does that answer your question?"

I pulled away only to find a huge smile waiting for me. "Yes and no. Yes, I now know that I am a great kisser, but no in the way that defines what we are."

"We're Caylor," I mumbled, looking down at the sheets. "Isn't that enough?"

"That doesn't really answer the question I had in mind."

I finally met his eyes as I thought back to the letter Galen had left me. Following that, Sophia and I passed out the others' and I wondered if his said anything similar to mine.

'Distractions can cost you your life. In the battle, you must focus on your teammates and yourself, not solely on each other. The Big Six is a group effort and while you two make a great pair, any feelings will only hurt you eventually in battle.'

I wanted to ignore her, but she wrote this letter in case she died which proves that this, being her last words to me, is very important to her. Her reasoning makes sense despite me not wanting it to be true. Finally, I took a deep breath and said, "At this point, I think we have too much going on and I don't think either of us should focus on something like that..."

He grin left his face, but he nodded. "I agree... But we're still Caylor, yeah?"

I rested my head on his shoulder. Being a Fire, he was very warm which was appreciative in his air conditioned room of ours. "Of course. That's not going anywhere."

"Are you ever going to admit that you actually have feelings for me?"

"Are you?"

I felt his chest reverberate with the vibrations of his laughter. "Touché."

We sat like that for a few minutes in silence until I brought up what happened earlier again. "Do you think Jack's going to hate me even more now?"

He thought about it for a bit, forming his answer in his head. "What can he really do? Kill you? Imprison you? He does that and we're all screwed. He must want to kill Katherine and the Catchers as much as the rest of us do, so why would he hurt that process?"

His words made me feel better and looking at the clock, I knew it was time for us to go to bed in order to be up and ready for training the next morning. Despite sleeping in my own bed for the past couple nights, Cole didn't let me go and, to be honest, I felt more relaxed and comfortable in his embrace than I have the entire time we've been here. It didn't take long for me to finally fall asleep, something that seemed for foreign to me recently.

I woke up well rested and a smile on my face. While I got up from the sound of our alarm, Cole definitely slept through it.

"Up, up, up!" I bounced, earning a groan out of his while he rubbed at his eyes.

"Okay, you're cute and all, but not when you're trying to wake me up. Just come back down here, Little Miss Sunshine, and let's sleep the day away."

I laughed at him and got up, starting to get ready for the day ahead. Cole failed to move, so, using my powers, I threw the covers off and pushed him off the bed. He landed with a swear word escaping his lips, making me smirk as I picked out which attire I would wear today. I heard him grumbling to himself while he did the same.

Soon enough, we were ready for our day and once we got to the training floor, we went our separate ways. We would be continuing with our training with our personal trainers today just as before.

The promise that Jack and the rest would come by this morning to judge Sophia's training skills was broken because it was only her when I arrived. She already looked annoyed the second I walked in.

"Look," I started, throwing down my stuff against the wall. I knew I was seconds away from another rant from her about my 'manners.' "He's been pushing me this entire time we've been here and he totally deserved it--"

"I know... I don't blame you. To be honest, it gives more answers too."

While I was surprised, I gave her a small smile, happy that she was actually agreeing with me for once. The mention of answers brought me back to my conversation with Cole last night. "Hey, have you looked at the papers that were in Galen's office?"

She shook her head. "No, not yet. Why?"

"I'd like to see what else I could find related to all this, so could I go through them during my lunch break?"

She thought about it for a few moments before shrugging. "I can't see why not. I'm not going to let you into the prophecies because that needs to be a group effort, but the informational parts are all yours."

In all honestly, I was surprised she said yes so I trained extra hard as a thank you. By the time lunch rolled around, Sophia brought in a box of all the things I could look through and left to take her own break.

It took me a few moments to gather my bearings amongst the hundreds of papers in front of me. While I was looking specifically for information on Jack, the others, and the Supernatural branch, I found myself caught up amidst the personal information of all the students.

After being made fun of for months, I immediately flipped through until I reached the T's, pulling out the folder labeled Trainor, Cole. A large, mischievous grin spread across my face and I knew I shouldn't have this kind of power.

It said basic information, height, weight, hair and eye color. It had family information and also the signs of having powers. Reading through that, I found myself cackling at one of the bullet points listed just as he walked in.

"Hey! Sophia said you were back in here--"

"June 4th: Trainor is caught walking home intoxicated by an officer after attending a graduation party. Authority claimed that he kept calling himself, 'Fire Lord Cole' but no attempts of using his powers were made," I read off before falling into another fit of laughter as I watched him scramble over to grab the papers from me.

"Hey! That's private!"

"No, this is gold," I emphasized. However, I decided to respect his wishes and put his down. This time I flipped through the other folders to find mine under Buckley, Taylor.

I have always been curious to know just how much of my past Cole knew. What did they catch onto? What was the first noticeable usage of my powers? Reading through, I discovered that a very low suspicion, which put me on their, came from the accident as no normal person would have been able to survive what I did radar. After that, it was mostly Catchers being around the area having sensed my power that came from my visions. I never used telekinesis or time manipulation on purpose but when I did, it definitely alerted our enemies that were around.

However, looking through my information I found one thing missing.

"You're such a liar!" I accused, pointing my finger at Cole. His only response was a raised eyebrow and confused expression. "There's nothing in here that even hints at my bra size!"

And that's when he was the one who was dying of laughter while I sat back angrily. For weeks, months even, he has been teasing me about that detail being on my record and today I come to find that he's been joking about it this entire time... figures.

"I knew you'd be fun to mess with since day one, Blondie," he winked, making me shake my head at his ridiculousness.

After my own personal desires for information were soothed, we began searching through for any information regarding this place or something that could actually give us some answers.

"Huh," Cole mumbled before holding out a stack of papers. "Look at this."

I expected something about Jack or something like that, but instead I was handed a page of scientific findings. Confused, I skimmed through the data to be greeted with an answer to a question I've always had.

"So we're products of mutations," I concluded from the paper. "One gene malfunctions and it creates our powers."

He nodded. "Apparently. Makes sense, doesn't it? It also states that the mutated allele might be passed along throughout generations but it won't give anyone powers until both parents have the positive gene, which is pretty rare. They don't have enough evidence for that completely, but it really makes sense."

I bumped his side. "Look at you sounding all biological."

He gave me a wide grin. "I barely passed any of my science classes but at least I can understand that part. The rest is a mystery to me."

We continued looking through the papers but failed to find anything that gave us information on Jack, the Supernatural branch, or anything in between. While I'm a bit bummed about that, I'm happy to finally have an answer as to why we were like this and why it's so rare for Supernaturals to be born.

Sophia came in and shooed Cole away to his own training. She began stretching a little bit as she watched me put away all the papers.

"Did you find anything interesting?" She asked. "I've never gone through any of that stuff."

"I figured out that Cole's a dirty liar..." I mumbled, earning a confused look from her. "Never mind... But yeah, there's some stuff in there that's pretty neat. Not what I was looking for, but good to know."

She nodded once. "I guess I should start looking through all that and the other stuff. Galen left behind a lot of information, but also a lot of papers that aren't. It'll take a long time to sort out what we need and what we don't."

"You have all of us to help out with that," I told her, now joining in the stretches.

"Can I even trust you in helping determine what's important and what's not?"

I gave her a pointed look. "You're going to have to trust me in more ways than one, Sophia."

"True," she stated, now standing up to shake out her limbs. "But I don't know how well I trust you and your attention to detail. Let's face it, you don't even realize that Cole is crazy about you. You're just so oblivious sometimes."

And with that, she smirked at my embarrassed, blushing expression, and began training just as we left off.
