"PLEASE, TAKE ME BACK?"

"Hey, Baek," Taeyeon muttered shyly.

"Tae-Taeyeon?" Baekhyun stuttered. "Wh-what are you doing here? I mean, not that I'm unhappy to see you it's just . . . We broke up. Didn't we?"

Taeyeon smiled sadly and nodded. "Yes, and that's what I wanted to talk to you about. Baek, I— Well, I . . . I still love you. And I know, I screwed up by sleeping with that random stranger, but I had just been so upset and I felt unwanted by you. You ignored me or shied away from my touch, and I couldn't understand why . . ." Taeyeon trailed off before continuing.

"But now, looking back on everything I guess I should have noticed. I believe I chose to ignore it though, simply because I was in love and I'm still in love with you. Could you— I mean, do you think we can try again? I don't want to lose you, Baek. You've been mine for so long now it just wouldn't feel right without you by my side. So please, can you think about us again?"

Baekhyun didn't speak, he couldn't really. What would he even say to that? Taeyeon had come back to him saying she wanted to try again, while at the same moment she was baring her feelings Baekhyun had his current lover in his apartment. It was so fucked up.

"I— Can you give me a moment, please?" Baekhyun asked. Taeyeon nodded, and with that, Baekhyun immediately scurried out of the room. He ran into Chanyeol around the corner, and would have fallen on his butt if Chanyeol hadn't of caught his wrist.

Chanyeol righted him up while he quietly muttered, "Who's here? Is that your ex? Taeyeon?"

Baekhyun nodded and placed a hand over Chanyeol's mouth as he hissed, "Please, stop talking. My head already feels like it's going to explode and I don't need you throwing questions at me right now."

Chanyeol furrowed his brow and with his lips pursed into a straight line, he grabbed Baekhyun's wrist and pulled him further into the room. He dragged him into the bathroom and closed the door behind him, spinning them around until Baekhyun's back was pressed firmly against the closed door.

Chanyeol hovered above him, his body pressed against Baekhyun's and his face dangerously close to his, so close that when Chanyeol spoke, his lips grazed Baekhyun's. "Please, tell me what you're thinking?" Chanyeol breathed.

Baekhyun gulped and weakly muttered, "I–I can't think. You're too close."

Chanyeol sighed and took a half-step back as he muttered, "Is this better?"

Baekhyun shook his head and croaked, "No."

Chanyeol sighed again and dropped his forehead against Baekhyun's as he murmured, "Please, just tell me you're not actually considering her request?"

Baekhyun's eyes widened and he gasped, "You heard?"

Chanyeol nodded sheepishly and replied, "I'm sorry. I tried not too, but I . . . got curious."

Baekhyun sighed. "Next time, have a little restraint, please?"

Chanyeol didn't respond to that and just asked, "Are you going back to her?"

Baekhyun stuttered and blinked, gaping at Chanyeol in bewilderment before he managed to say, "Are you serious? I literally turned gay for you and you're asking me if I'm going to get back together with Taeyeon? For having a college degree, you're not very smart, Chanyeol."

Chanyeol pouted and caressed Baekhyun's cheek. "You're so mean. And good, because although I haven't known you as long as Taeyeon has, the thought of losing you to her is crushing," Chanyeol admitted before gently kissing Baekhyun.

Baekhyun softly smiled. "Don't worry Chanyeol, I like you too much. Now, I need to go back out there before she gets curious and starts looking for me," Baekhyun said before pecking Chanyeol's cheek a quick goodbye. "Just stay in here for now," Baekhyun hissed as he shut the door behind him.

When Baekhyun got back into the kitchen, Taeyeon was hovering over the pot of noodles, poking it with a spoon. Baekhyun cleared his throat and muttered, "Um . . . What are you doing, Tae?"

Taeyeon jumped and dropped the spoon into the pot as she spun around to face Baekhyun and cried, "Jesus, Baek! You scared me. Oh and I hate to tell you, but it looks like your noodles are ruined," Taeyeon muttered as she pulled out a sticky glob that had stuck to the spoon.

She grimaced and muttered, "You never were much of a cook."

Baekhyun laughed despite himself and walked towards the stove, peering inside with a sigh as he mumbled, "Pizza it is then." (A/N: kittyxn I used that "pizza" suggestion. 😊)

Taeyeon giggled and placed the spoon down, and then unexpectedly she grabbed Baekhyun's hand. "So, since your dinner is ruined. Do you maybe want to have dinner with me? My parents are in town . . . Maybe you could say hello? What do you say, Baek, can we have one last date?" Taeyeon asked hopefully.

Baekhyun internally wept while on the outside he smiled semi-awkwardly and muttered, "Tae, that doesn't seem like—"

"Please?" Taeyeon pleaded again, cutting Baekhyun off. She reached for his hands and clutched onto them tightly as she murmured, "Please, if all I can get is one last date with you it'd make me so happy. Please, Baek?"

"Aish! Tae! Don't do this to me!" Baekhyun cried as he held her hands just as tightly. Taeyeon continued to plead with her eyes, knowing just the steps she had to take to break him down.

Baekhyun groaned and dropped her hands with a whine, stomping his foot as he cried, "Damn it! Alright fine, one last date.and that's it!" Taeyeon grinned widely and threw her arms around Baekhyun's neck as she jumped around excitedly.

"Thank you, Baek! I'll make things right with us! I promise!" she gushed.

Baekhyun didn't hear her last words, and if he had, maybe things wouldn't have turned out the way they had.

"Tae, I'll be right back. I . . . have to get a jacket," Baekhyun mumbled before quickly leaving the kitchen.

Baekhyun slipped into the bathroom to find Chanyeol sitting on the toilet with a furrowed brow. Baekhyun sighed and took a step towards him as he muttered, "You were listening, weren't you?" Chanyeol didn't say anything, but his silence was enough to answer Baekhyun's question. Baekhyun sighed and his heart became heavy as he gently pushed Chanyeol back and climbed onto his lap. "You know it doesn't mean anything, don't you? I love you, Chanyeol. It's just one date saying goodbye. That's all, I promise."

Chanyeol glanced at Baekhyun sadly. "I trust you, but tonight was suppose to be our date night. Not you spending it with your ex-girlfriend," Chanyeol replied bitterly.

Baekhyun grimaced. Chanyeol's words hitting him right in his heart because he knew he was right. Baekhyun was abandoning their date night to hang out with Taeyeon. He felt a tear fall down his cheek, and now it was Chanyeol's turn to feel bad as he gingerly wiped it away.

"Baek, please, don't cry. I'm sorry. I just wanted it to be us tonight, that's all. Please? An if it gives you closure to go with Taeyeon, then I'll support you."

Baekhyun smiled thinly and leaned closer to softly kiss Chanyeol, who tangled a hand into Baekhyun's hair to hold him closer for longer. Baekhyun sighed when they broke the kiss and he dropped his forehead against Chanyeol's chest. "I love you, Chan. And thank you, I'll do my best to come back to you as soon as I can."

"I'll be waiting," Chanyeol softly replied before tenderly kissing Baekhyun's lips.

"Baek! Are you ready yet?" Taeyeon's sudden voice called from the living room.

Baekhyun sighed and stood up from his boyfriends lap as he called out, "Yeah, I'm ready now! Be right there!"

And then Baekhyun smiled sadly at Chanyeol and softly said, "Okay, I'll either see you later tonight or tomorrow. I love you, Chan."

Chanyeol smiled and replied, "And I love you, Baek. I'll see you."

And with that Baekhyun walked out to Taeyeon, shrugging on his jacket as he said, "Alright, are you ready?"

——

They drove in silence for awhile, Taeyeon finally breaking the quiet when they arrived at her parent's house. "So, Baek, I called my parents while you were getting ready. I told them we were coming for a visit and they were so excited to get the chance to see you again." Baekhyun smiled lightly, but then Taeyeon's next words had that smile slipping away. "And they're also under the impression that we're....still dating."

Baekhyun jaw dropped and Taeyeon grimaced and cried, "I know, I know! But before you yell at me, let me just explain that I told them about us before our break up and when I was talking to them earlier they never gave me the chance to correct them so.... So what I guess I'm saying is, do you think . . . Do you think we can pretend?"

"What!?" Baekhyun cried.

Taeyeon cringed and held up her hands, quickly saying, "I know! I'm so sorry, but I didn't want to upset them. They were so happy when I told them that we were coming for a visit and I just couldn't do it. But I promise, as soon as I take you back home tonight I'll tell them the truth. I just need you to pretend for me for tonight. Please, Baek?"

Baekhyun sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. "And you didn't tell me any of this before why?" he asked.

"Because I knew you wouldn't agree to come with me," Taeyeon quietly muttered.

"Well, you were right," Baekhyun murmured almost to himself.

Taeyeon sighed and turned to Baekhyun, grabbing his hands as she said, "I'm so sorry and I swear, this wasn't my plan."

Baekhyun sighed and pulled his hands back. "Please don't, Taeyeon. I'm not going to touch you unless it's absolutely necessary and I want you to do the same. I'm sorry. And I'm also sorry because I don't love you that way anymore. I probably haven't loved you that way for awhile now and I just never realized. I'm in love with someone else, so please, don't do anything to ruin my relationship with him. If you want to hate me, go ahead, but I can't change my feelings just like I can't alter the past."

A silence settled over them, and then Taeyeon was muttering, "Don't worry, I love you too much to hurt you."

"Thank you," Baekhyun whispered, tears prickling at the back of his eyes.

Taeyeon nodded and forced a smile before saying, "So, shall we?"

Baekhyun nodded, and both of them climbed out of the car and began to walk to the front door.

Taeyeon's parent's house was extensive and just as beautiful as Baekhyun first remembered. There was a gorgeous walkway lined with flower dotted shrubs on either side, and beyond that, a well manicured lawn with perfectly trimmed trees and other shrubbery. The house was also just as grand, with slim cement pillars sculpted with the most precise precision to hold the overhanging awning above. Baekhyun smiled as the memory of his last visit resurfaced to the forefront of his mind.

Taeyeon glanced back at Baekhyun before ringing the doorbell, and she was about to open the door when it was pulled open from beneath her hand by a middle aged woman who resembled her daughter.

Mrs. Kim smiled at the pair and ushered them inside as she cooed, "Oh, Baekhyun dear, it's so good to see you again! We've missed you so much! How have you been feeling? Taeyeon wasn't able to tell us much."

Baekhyun smiled and said, "It's good to see you too, Mrs. Kim, and I've been good. School is great, and I've been well. Thank you." Baekhyun bowed.

Mrs. Kim chuckled and lightly grasped his shoulder as she muttered, "Oh child, there's no need for that. You're family!"

Baekhyun smiled thinly in response; while Taeyeon nervously bit her lip and fiddled with her fingers. Baekhyun sighed and asked, "So, what amazingly delicious dish have you prepared this time, Mrs. Kim?" Baekhyun asked with a smile as he followed Mrs. Kim further into the house.

——

"Oh my God! Mom, that was so good!" Taeyeon gushed after they had finished their dinner.

Mrs. Kim chuckled and responded, "You know, if you came home for a visit more than once a month you could eat like that all the time."

Taeyeon smiled and lightly laughed before responding, "Good point, mom."

"Honey, should we serve dessert now?" Mr. Kim asked.

Mrs. Kim rolled her eyes with a smile and said, "Yes dear, you can have your sugar fix now." Mrs. Kim chuckled before standing up and politely excusing herself to go into the kitchen with her husband.

Once Baekhyun and Taeyeon were left alone, Taeyeon immediately exhaled a heavy breath and grimaced. "Oh my God! How are you so good at this? You've charmed my parents effortlessly!" she hissed.

Baekhyun smiled thinly and replied, "It's probably because I've been pretending to be someone I'm not for most of my life," Baekhyun said bluntly.

Taeyeon's brow puckered and she murmured, "Yeah, sorry about that."

"It's not your fault," Baekhyun softly replied.

Taeyeon sighed heavily and pushed away from the table, standing up with a huff as she exclaimed, "How can you still be so nice to me!? I'm practically using you right now and I still have the audacity to say, 'I love you'? If I were you Baek.... I'd punch me right about now!"

Baekhyun chuckled and stood up to. "Stop moving around so much, your shoelace came undone. You could fall," Baekhyun muttered.

Taeyeon froze in place and glanced at Baekhyun in bewilderment as he bent down on one knee and proceed to retie her shoelace. She continued to gaze down at him, her jaw ajar in surprise and fondness. She really didn't deserve this. Baekhyun was too good to her. But she also noticed that it was more of a brotherly love than anything else. He always seemed to take care of her, even now.

Taeyeon didn't realize she was crying until she felt Baekhyun gently tugging on her hand. "Hey, don't cry," he softly muttered as he stood up and gently brushed his thumb over one of her cheeks.

Taeyeon couldn't help herself and just continued to quietly weep. Smiling sadly, Baekhyun kissed her forehead before pulling her into a hug, bring her cheek to rest in the crook of his shoulder while he soothingly rubbed her back and murmured reassurance into her ear.

And neither of them were aware.

They didn't notice the two people standing just out of sight while they watched the scene before them, tears of happiness running down their cheeks. They didn't notice the flash of the camera and they wouldn't know about the pictures or the problems they were already being to create.

They were both too blissfully unaware while wrapped inside their own bubble.
