Chapter 3

Saturday night has come around and the plan was to go out and have fun. Y/N has always been a fan of parties, dancing and everything related to it, so he immediatly agreed to come along when he was invited. His preparation was minimal, consisting of just a shower and a mint for fresh breath. The young man had dinner just an hour ago and brushed his teeth right after, so dental hygene was taken care of. He, Becky and Seth arrived together at the club, meeting with a few of their friends.

It was no surprise when the women were the first ones on the dance floor, making the guys chuckle.

Y/N:" They're always up for fun, huh?"

Seth:" Oh yeah. Not a week goes by without going somewhere."

Y/N:" Fair, but I can't blame them. This place seems like a lot of fun to be honest."

Seth:" Are you joining them?"

Y/N:" Maybe later. I gotta find my groove first."

Seth smiled at that and put his jacket on the back of his seat while Y/N let the music rumble through him. He needed a certain vibe before actually getting in on the fun, but that wasn't a problem. They had the whole night ahead of them.

Watching their friends while Y/N got mentally prepared, Seth kept an eye on everything. He knew how everyone could be when partying, but some sketchy things could still happen sooner rather than later and he didn't want that. It was good though to ignore work for a bit and just have a good time. Soon enough though, his focus was broken by Y/N who seemed to be ready to let loose now.

Y/N:" Alright, I'll be on the dance floor if ya need me."

Seth:" Enjoy yourself. And keep an eye on the others too. I don't want anyone to get in trouble."

Y/N:" I got this, buddy. Just relax, maybe get a drink."

Nodding, Seth just watched his friend disappear into a sea of dancing people. It was strange: one day Y/N could be a real party cannon, another day he'd be isolating. Seth didn't understand that completely, but he respected Y/N enough to let his choices stand on their own.

A good while went by before everyone took a bit of a break. Dancing was fun, but also very exhausting for some people as Y/N took a seat across from Seth who chuckled at his sweaty friend.

Seth:" You're going all out, huh?"

Y/N:" Someone has to. But it's great. I haven't moved this intensely in a long while."

Seth:" I see that. You should be the one taking it easy for a bit, man."

Y/N:" That's my plan. And hey, Bex is calling to you."

Thinking this was some joke, Seth laughed it off at first before he actually saw Becky wanting him to come closer.

Now the bearded man knew it was serious, so he patted Y/N's shoulder and then went on to dance while Y/N shook his head in amusement and took a sip of his drink. Yeah, he enjoyed himself a lot and nobody could take that away from him right now. Hell, the place was packed, the music was good and the people  were great, so what more could he wish for?

Y/N:" I shouldn't overdo it though. Last time I did that, I had back problems for a week."

He wasn't old by any means, but sometimes Y/N pushed himself too hard. Many others told him to be careful, but he wouldn't listen most of the time. So while relaxing right now, Y/N was suddenly joined by Cathy Kelly.

Cathy:" Hey Y/N. You really know how to dance."

Y/N:" Thanks, Cathy. I have years of experience on that."

Cathy:" I can tell. People were watching and making videos of you."

Y/N:" For real?"

Cathy:" Yeah! Don't be surprised when your phone blows up from the notifications."

Y/N:" Lord help me."

Cathy giggled and ran a hand through Y/N's hair. Along with Seth and Becky, she was one of the closest friends he had and they appreciated each other a lot. She also knew a few things Y/N didn't tell anyone else, like his intense liking to Becky. It was a secret for long, but why didn't Y/N confess to Becky?
Well, first off: there's Seth. He and Becky were married and had a child, so getting in between them would've stirred up some serious trouble.
Second: things would spread through the business like a wildfire. And what would that do for Y/N?
And third: rejection. He valued the friendship a lot and if Becky rejected Y/N, things would get really tense and awkward.

Taking to his drink as Cathy joined the mob of dancers again, Y/N had a lot to think about. On one side, he wanted Seth and Becky to be happy together and keep their family together. On the other hand, he wished to be in Seth's place. What did he get himself into?
