Chapter 2
Near the end of the show, Becky returned backstage after her match against Natalya. They put on an entertaining fight for sure as the build-up to Fastlane was rising further. Three more weeks until the Pay-Per-View, but the fans already knew it would get interesting sooner rather than later. It really didn't surprise Becky a lot when she saw Y/N talk to some people of the production crew while wearing something simple, yet stylish.
Becky:" This guy really understood the business already...He's something."
It was a thing that had her attention for a while at this point because knowing the ins and outs of pro wrestling wasn't everyone's game. Yet, Y/N did it with barely any trouble while only having been in the WWE system for a little over six years. He learned really fast by the looks of things as his general wisdom was shown over and over again. Once the conversation with the production crew was dealt with though and Y/N noticed Becky, they smiled and greeted each other with a friendly hug.
Becky:" Look at you, wise guy. You're earning your share around here."
Y/N:" I just do what I can. If it means discussing ideas or safety at the workplace, then I better step in somehow."
Becky:" You could be a coach at the Performance Center with that attitude."
Y/N:" I got my retirement plans set and they don't involve coaching, sorry."
Becky:" May I ask what your plans are?"
Y/N:" They will be revealed in time. Meanwhile you're causing a ruckus out there, huh?"
Y/N referred to a very spicy promo Becky held right after beating Natalya. She was aiming high for sure and promised to reclaim what was hers, but the problem in the way were other contenders along with Ronda Rousey of all people being champion. Yes, Becky has beaten Ronda before, but the landscape has changed quite a lot. And she knew that.
Y/N:" Just saying, Ronda hasn't let herself go."
Becky:" Neither have I."
Y/N:" Yeah, but she's got MMA experience."
Becky:" It won't always save her, Y/N. I know a lot of her weak spots by now and I will exploit them, if I have to."
Y/N:" You're a tough nut to crack, y'know?"
Becky:" Thats what you get when you're friends with me, buddy."
Y/N:" And I wouldn't change a thing about that."
Becky:" Good answer. You were really close to getting your ass manhandled."
Y/N:" You also know that I'm not scared of you though."
Sharing a soft laugh with each other, the two bumped fists and then parted ways for a moment since Becky needed to shower and change while Y/N just watched the last match of the night which was Seth Rollins vs Baron Corbin. Strange booking decision, but it wasn't his duty.
---------------------------------------------------------
Half an hour later and the two friends were picking up some stuff from McDonald's. They were hungry and the hotel food wasn't of their preference right now. Of course others would say the two should keep an eye on their diet, but everyone had a cheat day once a week. Becky dug into some Chicken Nuggets while Y/N sipped from his vanilla milkshake before continuing the previous conversation.
Y/N:" You really busted a door out of boredom?"
Becky:" Yeeeaah, it was in an abandoned building. There was no one around and I needed something to do."
Y/N:" And that was your first idea..."
Becky:" At least we didn't wreck our teacher's car like you did."
Y/N:" He had it coming. Racist and homophobic asshole. He was just asking for it."
Becky:" Isn't he in prison by now?"
Y/N:" Yep. And he'll stay there."
Becky:" If I didn't know you any better, I'd think you do stuff like that every day."
Y/N:" There are things I haven't told anyone about. All of us gave some skeletons in the closet at one point."
Becky nodded with a smile on her face as she looked at Y/N. She knew he wasn't a pure soul by any means, but knowing that he was more of a troublemaker than first expected really caught her off guard.
Driving through the suburbs towards the hotel was a different experience for the eyes because of graffiti everywhere, billboards and storefronts being covered in posters and a few spare car parts lying around. Definitly not an area anyone would like to walk through in the dark.
Y/N:" I hope areas like these will get cleaned up again sooner rather than later."
Becky:" Same. They put down some of the beauty for the rest of the city."
Y/N:" Not only that, but-...okay, nevermind."
Becky noticed that Y/N was getting a tad more serious there, but the way he avoided an apparently more personal topic made it feel like he didn't want to talk about it. Only he knew what the reason for that was because Becky wouldn't dare to press into sensitive matters that didn't concern her. She just put her hand on top of his to show that she would be there for him, no matter what. Thankfully they made it to the hotel soon enough and didn't hesitate in getting to their floor. Saying goodbye to each other, Y/N couldn't help himself but to signal for Becky to call him sometime before entering his room.
Becky blushed a little, but made a mental note about it. She knew something was up in the air at this point and Y/N didn't have many people he could actually trust. Their friendship was something else entirely as the irish lass now thought everything through.
