New Problems
The next morning Bobby awoke with the worst hangover of the last years. But the night before was clear in his mind. Groaning he let his head fall in his hands. How could he have been so stupid? Their banter had been more of flirting and he even had asked the demon to stay... God, this was a disaster. When he looked up a glass of water, aspirin and other painkillers appeared out of thin air together with a little note. Reading the note, he blushed.
>>Morning Handsome! Rise and Shine! A little something for your hungover. C u soon.<<
There was also a number at the end of the paper, it wasn't signed but there was only one person who would send this. He wasn't sure what to do with this but he took the aspirin thankful.
After this incident, the king of hell didn't show up for a whole week. After seeing him any other day that felt weird. He hoped that this little incident hadn't screwed up their friendship or whatever they had.
At the nineth day he appeared early in the afternoon, when Bobby was in the middle of repairing one of his cars. Head under the body of the car he nearly slammed his head. Cursing he retreated from the car and glares at the demon. "You couldn't have called? That was really dangerous!"
Crowley nearly looked apocalyptic, but didn't say a word. He got up and leaned on the hood of the car, arms crossed. Considering of addressing their last meeting, but when he tried to name the elephant in the room a bark cut the silence. His head snaped in the direction of this sound.
"Was that a hellhound?!" he pressed between clenched teeth.
The king of hell only grinned.
"Oh no you haven't! Get this beast off my property!"
Pouting Crowley whistled and a moment later Bobby could see footprints approach and make halt at the demons side. His grin only widened when he petted the clearly big hound.
The hunter was at a loss of words.
"He is a real sweetheart. He won't hurt you", the demon tried to assure him. Taking a step forward he took Bobby's hand in his. Gulping hard he tried not to panic for different reasons.
"Do you trust me?", the other asked with an uncertain tone. The hunter was too stunned to speak but slowly nods. So Crowley mad a step back and pulled him to his hound. At first he growled a bit yet sniffed at his hand none the less. After a bit of coaxing, he let himself be pet by Bobby. It was weird that he couldn't see the hellhound, but he had soft fur and behaved just like any normal dog.
That put the hunter at ease, but he was still suspicious why the demon brought his pet with him.
He didn't have to wait long for an answer. Uncomfortable the other rubbed the back of his neck. A gesture he seemed to have picked up somewhere. This behaviour was totally out of character for him. Now I was really concerned what this was about.
"Soo... I wanted to ask if you could watch after Growley for the next two days? I have some important business to take care off and I don't want to leave him alone."
Before I could object he once again stepped forward and took my hand. Oh god this demon! He had to know what he was doing!
"Please Bobby! You're the only one I trust with him..." he pleaded. You heard me right the king of hell pleaded.. This must be really important for him.
Resigned I agreed. "Okay I do it... But you have to bring a collar or something so that I can see him! I wont let an invisible hellhound run free on my property!"
Seemingly relieved he thanked me and zapped away. My other hand was still resting on the dogs head when a collar appeared around his neck. Sighting I grabbed it and whistled lightly. "Now come on boy. Let us get in the house."
Inside he pondered how the hellhound proof the shack. He couldn't let him roam free. He could kill someone, run into other hunters and be shot or at best, he would tear sheep in the neighbourhood. He couldn't let this happen. So he secured all exits with salt and searched for a sturdy chain to use as leash. Maybe he could also enclose an area behind the house where no cars where parked for the dog to play... Realizing his line of thoughts he sighed. What has his life come to? He was a hunter babysitting a hellhound for a demon and he threatens him like any normal dog. He truly must have gone insane. But if that was the case, he wouldn't want it any other way anymore.
