It had been a couple weeks since Rogers brought Tilly home. Things were going great her and Kassidy were getting along wonderfully. Rogers had taken leave from work to make sure Tilly was adjusted and he was returning today, so Kassidy would have Tilly by herself for a few hours when Tilly got out of school.
"And you are sure you are ready for this?" Rogers asked.
"Yes. I think so I've got her routine memorized and its not too cold today so I am taking her to the park after school." Kassidy smiled.
"Good idea, let her burn off some energy." Rogers smirked and then looked down at Tilly.
"You'll behave yourself for Kassidy correct?" He asked.
"Yes Daddy." Tilly smiled.
"Good." Rogers said. "Let's get you to school. Kassidy will pick you up and take you to the park after okay?"
"Okay!" Tilly beamed and hugged Kassidy "See you later Kassi." She said.
"See you later kid." Kassidy smiled down at the girl. Rogers leaned in and kissed Kassidy.
"Visit me for lunch?" He asked.
"That's the plan stan." Kassidy winked.
"Who is stan?" Tilly asked confused making both Kassidy and Rogers laugh.

Kassidy sat in her usual spot at Roni's.
"I missed you coming in every day. I'm glad you are finally in a good place." Roni smiled.
"Me too Roni." Kassidy smiled.
"I don't think I've ever seen you smile like that Kass in the 4 years I've known you."
"I'm just happy Roni. Things are great with Rogers and I and Tilly, she is amazing. I spent so long trying to push everyone away because I was afraid they would all leave eventually that I didn't realize that this is what I wanted all along. Stability. A family, people who are excited to see me when they get home."
Roni smiled.
"I'm happy for you." She said.
"Thanks Roni." Kassidy replied. "I do feel like I should be doing something though, with Tilly in school all day, and Rogers at work..there's only so many times I can clean the house." Kassidy laughed.
"So you want a job?" Roni asked. Kassidy shrugged.
"Just something to keep me busy for a few hours while Tilly is at school."
"I could use a little help around here if you are interested. It's only part time but it would give you something to do."
"Really? Work here?" Kassidy asked.
"Why not? You are here nearly every day, you know the customers and the menu I can't let you make drinks but you can work tables."
"That would be great!" Kassidy beamed. "Thank you!"
"Of course, you can start tomorrow, just come in around 10." Roni smiled.
"Great. I will thanks!" Kassidy said and stood up.
"Where are you off to now?" Roni asked.
"I'm going to go see Rogers for his lunch break" Kassidy grinned.
"Have fun." Roni winked.

Kassidy walked into the precinct with lunch for her and Rogers. She walked into his and Weavers office he looked up from his case file and smiled.
"Hello, love." He said.
"Hey." Kassidy smiled and put a togo box in front of him. "Your rabbit food." She laughed.
"It's not Rabbit food, it's actually good for you, you should try it." Rogers said
"Nope, I'll stick to my tacos, greasy, delicious, bad for my health, good for my soul." Kassidy giggled and sat down beside him.
"Where is Weaver?" She asked.
"Questioning a lead for our case." Rogers replied
"Ooo new case." Kassidy smiled.
"Yep. Right back into it." Rogers grinned. "What have you been up to today?"
"Oh I finished some things around the house and then I went to see Roni and I got a job." Kassidy said. "Just from 10-2 starting tomorrow so I'll be able to get Tilly from school in the afternoons."
"Oh that's great! You didn't need to get a job though. You do enough at home and helping with Tilly."
"I wanted to, It will get me out of the house for a couple hours a few days a week."
"Okay if it's what you want then go for it. Whatever makes you happy love." Rogers said. Kassidy leaned in and kissed him and pulled away.
"That makes me happy." Kassidy smirked and bit her lip raising her eyebrows at him.
"Mm that makes me happy too,don't tease me while I'm at work you siren." Rogers said.
"Technically you are on lunch. Off the clock." Kassidy shrugged "And you are fun to tease." She winked.
"You are going to get yourself into trouble Cole." Rogers smirked.
"Don't threaten me with a good time detective." Kassidy said making him blush.

 Kassidy led Tilly towards the park after school. 

"So how was school?" Kassidy asked.
"It was great! I made a new friend. Her name is Margot, with a T but on the end not at the front." Tilly smiled.
"Oh nice, thats great! Maybe Margot with a T can come to the park with us next time Til." Kassidy said.
"Yes!" Tilly beamed and got excited seeing the park across the street she started running.
"Wait!" Kassidy shouted stopping Tilly in her tracks.
"Hold my hand. You can't just run out into the street Tilly." Kassidy said.
"I'm sorry." Tilly frowned and put her small hand into Kassidy's
"Its okay, you just scared me kid." Kassidy said and led her across the street to the park.
"Can I play now?" Tilly asked.
"Wait, I brought this so you can have a snack before you play" Kassidy said sitting down on the bench. Tilly sat beside her and Kassidy pulled a sandwich in a little ziplock bag out of her bag and handed it to Tilly.
"Marmalade?!" Tilly asked excitedly
"Yes. If your dad asked it was carrots." Kassidy winked.
"Got it." Tilly grinned and opened the bag digging into the sandwich which she nearly inhaled.
"Can I play now?" She asked
"Yes, Go play just stay where I can see you okay?" Kassidy asked.
"Okay." Tilly said and hurried off to the playground.

Another woman sat down beside Kassidy chatting with her for a while.
"So which one is yours?" The woman asked.
"Oh. Its actually my boyfriend's kid.. But she is over the-" Kassidy stopped short not seeing Tilly. She stood up and walked over to the playground.
"Til?" Kassidy called. There was no answer.
"Tilly??" Kassidy called again. "If you are hiding this is not funny! Come out right now!" She said with panic in her voice.
Tilly was nowhere to be found. Kassidy pulled out her phone and dialed Rogers he was going to kill her.

Rogers was in the middle of interrogation when Kassidy was calling him so he didn't answer his phone, and when he was done he got caught up with Henry and forgot to check his phone.
"So, Kassidy and Tilly are getting along?" Henry asked.
"Oh the two of them are thick as thieves." Rogers smiled.
"Thats great, I know Kass doesn't think she's great with kids but Lucy loves her. She looks up to her. Although i'm still trying to clean slime from the front entrance after Kass showed her how to rig a bucket up to fall on my head."
Rogers chuckled.
"Thankfully she hasn't taught Tilly that yet." He said.
"Give it time, the two of them are going to gang up on you Rogers." Henry smirked.
Rogers went to reply but was cut off by the doors opening and Tilly running into the station crying followed by an officer.
"Tilly??" He asked
"I'm sorry Daddy!" Tilly cried.
"Sorry for what? Where is Kassidy?"
"I found her around the block." The officer said.
"What happened Tilly?" Rogers said.
"I saw a kitty at the park and I followed it and I got so far away from the park I didn't know where I was." Tilly cried throwing her arms around Rogers neck.
"Where was Kassidy?"
"She was on the bench talking to a lady but she was watching I didn't mean to go so far. She's going to be so mad at me." Tilly sobbed.
Rogers pulled his phone from his back pocket noticing the 20 missed calls from Kassidy.
"Oh she must be going out of her mind." Rogers sighed.

Rogers had called Kassidy to let her know Tilly was safe and it was about 30 minutes later when Kassidy nearly flew into the precinct. Her cheeks were stained with tears and mascara and her eyes were red from crying. She ran into the office and crouched down to Tilly holding her tightly.
Both of them crying now.
"Don't be mad at me Kassidy." Tilly cried.
"I'm not mad. I was just so scared. Why did you run off?"
"I saw a kitty." Tilly frowned. Kassidy sighed and looked up at Rogers and looked back down disappointed in herself.
"I looked away for one second." She said.
"Its okay Kass..these things happen. I've made the same mistake. Tilly knows better than to walk away." He said glancing at his daughter sternly.
Tilly nodded.
"I'm sorry." She pouted.
"Its okay I am just glad you are safe you scared the hell out of me kid." Kassidy said pulling her close again before pulling away. "Don't ever do that again. Got it?" She asked.
"Got it." Tilly said and nodded.

"Whatcha doing?" Rogers whispered as he walked up behind Kassidy who was leaning against the door frame to Tilly's room watching her sleep.
"Just watching her.. After today I don't ever want to take my eyes off of her." Kassidy sighed.
"Kassi, love I get it, I do but she is okay and I'm not mad at you. You looked away for a second. It happens and Tilly is mischievous, I'm sure you did that to your parents too."
"Oh All the time... and now I understand why they were so mad. I have never felt so scared in my life. I thought she was gone and she wasn't coming back and I would have never forgiven myself." Kassidy said and wiped tears from her eyes.
Rogers pulled her close and kissed her on the top of the head.
"Its going to be okay. I think It scared Tilly enough to where she wont do it again." Rogers said and smiled.
"God I hope not. I'm too young to have a heart attack." Kassidy sighed.
Rogers took her hand leading her down the hall.
"What are you doing Rogers?" Kassidy asked with a laugh.
"You didn't think you were just going to get away with teasing me on lunch did you?" He asked.
Kassidy bit her lip
"I wouldn't dream of it." She said.
