Chapter 40- Welcome
Chapter 40
"Miss Simmons," I hear a voice call my name.
I lightly open my eyes and glance up at the flight attendant.
"Bella," I correct wearily.
"I'm sorry. Bella, can I get you anything?" She asks.
I shake my head but then rethink. Viewing her name tag, I say, "Actually, Vicki, could I have a blanket? It's kind of chilly in here."
"Of course." She gives me a smile and walks away.
We've been flying for a little over four hours now. I haven't seen much of Michael in a while.
I decide to scout for him right after Vicki returns with my blanket.
Two minutes later, she hands me a warm, folded black blanket and I thank her.
I stand and wrap it around my shoulders before starting the search.
I finally hit the jackpot when I found him at the back of the plane.
I pull the soft blanket closer around myself and lean against the doorway.
"Hey, you." I say, which causes Michael's head to snap up from a notebook that he was scribbling hastily in moments before.
When he sees me, he gives a soft smile and closes the book.
"What are you doing here?" He asks.
"Shouldn't I be asking you that? I haven't seen you in hours. What's going on?"
He shrugs. "Just writing." He clears his throat. "You want to hear?"
"Love to." I walk over and sit next to him as he opens the notebook once again. He pulls me into his lap.
"You and I were never separate
It's just an illusion
Wrought by the magical lens of perception
"There is only one wholeness
Only one mind
We are like ripples in the vast ocean of consciousness
"Come let us dance
The Dance of Creation
Let us celebrate
The Joy of Life
"The bird, the bees
The infinite galaxies
Rivers, mountains
Clouds and valleys
Are all a pulsating pattern
Living, breathing
Alive with cosmic energy
"Full of life, of Joy
This universe of mine
Don't be afraid
"To know who you are
You are much more
Than you ever imagined
"You are the Sun
You are the Moon
You are the wildflower in a bloom
You are the life-throb
That pulsates, dances
From a speck of dust
To the most distant star
"You are I were never separate
It's just an illusion
Wrought by the magical lens of perception
"Let us celebrate
The Joy of Life
Let us dance
The Dance of Creation."
I just shake my head, silent tears rolling down my cheeks.
I'm quivering in his arms. I'm so moved.
The sweet soul one must have to create a beautiful poem like this.
"It was so bad that you cried? Man..." Michael adds some humorous relief.
I slap his arm. "It was beautiful."
Michael grins and kisses my tears away. "Now you know why I hide away sometimes."
"God, take me with you." I whisper as his lips near mine.
"Of course."
His fingers wrap around my neck gently as his lips claim mine in the most intimate way.
I fist his curls and our lips disconnect and connect, beautifully, once again.
"You're beautiful." He whispers, rubbing his thumb softly over my bottom lip.
I look away to hide my reddened cheeks.
I take Michael's journal, paging through the rest of his glorious and magical poems before sleep takes me.
There's movement and bustling around me as my eyes flutter open.
"Babe, get up." Michael kisses my temple as I push myself off of his chest.
He grabs my hand and helps me up to my feet as we walk to the front of the plane.
Then a sea of fans greet us as we descend the stairs of the jet.
Michael grins and waves at them, blowing kisses.
"Wave, love." He orders.
Realizing I probably look robotic, I wave to the crowd as well.
"Michael! We love you!" The fans screech as security holds them back.
Michael looks down at me and winks.
"Welcome to Japan."
