Chapter 34

He scoffs. "What the hell? What do you mean we're 'done'?"

"I mean just what I said! It's. Over!"

"You don't mean that shit at all and you know it." He protests.

"Michael, how many times do I have to tell you!?"

I truly don't know what I've gotten myself into.

I love him and I know that. But I don't know if us being together would be best, or if we should love each other from a distance.

I look at him. At this point he realizes that I'm being completely serious about this. The expression on his face tells all.

"Bella..." His voice cracks.

I look away from his huge pleading eyes. He's making this much worse than it should.

"I feel like I'm bringing you down. Distracting you. You have a world tour starting soon and you've been putting off rehearsals because of me." I say quietly.

"But I lo--"

"It isn't best." I shake my head. "I'm not best for you and I'm sorry, but we shouldn't be together. The fact is that you deserve more."

"Where is this coming from? What are you talking about?"

I slide down the wall and hug my knees to my chest. Now this is a breakup I care about deeply.

"Bell, you can't leave me."

"Michael I'm sorry but I don't think-"

"Who the hell do you think you are?" He suddenly snaps.

I frown. "Excuse me?"

He pulls me up by my waist and keeps my back against the wall, holding my hands above my head. "No."

"No what?"

He smiles even though tears are welling in his eyes.

"No, you aren't breaking up with me."

I suck my teeth. "That is my decision and you're supposed to respect it."

"I'm not respecting bullshit." He hisses and I gasp as his grip around my wrists tighten. "You're doing exactly what the paps want. You're letting them win."

I sigh quietly.

"Do you love me?" He asks.

"Of course I do!"

"Then that should be the only thing that matters. You're staying with me."

I look at him. "Michael I love you but I already said no!"

"And I'm about to make love to you."

My heartbeat stops as his hands fall to my waist and he lifts me up, taking me to my bedroom.
