Chapter 28

"Hello? Kai?" I say. She picks up the phone and I breathe out in relief.

"Listen, Michael's in a problem. I think he's been kidnapped."

"Kidnapped?!" Kai yells. I quickly try and calm her down.

"Well, yes, but by Diana. Can you get his bodyguards to come to this address?" I recite the address to her and she agrees.

"I told them, they're on their way. How did it happen?" She asks curiously. I tell her how the situation came about.

"Wow, that's crazy," she replies.

"I know. I'm going to go now, I'll talk to you after all of this is over." I say before hanging up.

Sam looks at me, concerned. I tell her and Jess what was soon to happen.

"Good thinking Bells. We'll make it through, alright?" I nod, giving each of them a giant hug.

Minutes later, a black car pulls up and parks in the lot, Michael's bodyguards emerging. I rush over to them.

"You're Bella?" One of them asks. Both of them are clad in black v-necks, jeans, and shoes. Shades sat on each of their noses and my eyes grazed over their buff bodies.

"Yes. And you are..?"

"Jose and Parker, Michael's bodyguards. Where's Michael so we can help him?" I turn around and point at the hotel.

"He's in there, being held hostage by Diana Ross. Well, I'm pretty sure, but the bottom line is he's in trouble. I need you to get past the security to her room and help Michael out of there. One of you get him here to make sure he's safe. Then, give me the signal and I'll deal with Diana myself. Got it?"

They simply nod and walk through the lobby, just like we did a short while ago.

"I pray this works." I say softly. It took me I while to realize how much Michael means to me. I can't live without him and I know that is definitely the truth.

"Everything's going to be fine. Have some faith!" Jess says. I laugh weakly. Somehow, she always knows how to cheer me up.

Time passes and I hear struggling and screams. Jose and Parker are probably at Diana's room. The signal should be coming soon. That witch is going to pay for what she's done to Michael.

The signal comes. Three very loud claps. Before I can rethink it, I dash back into the motel. On my way up to Diana's floor, I see Parker coming down with Michael in his arms.

"Bella!" He yells. I don't stop to look back, knowing that he and I will be together soon.

I follow the shrill cries and make my way straight to the end of the hallway. There, I find Jose holding Diana as she struggles to get out of his grip.

"So, this is Michael's new toy, hmm?" She says.

"I'm not anybody's toy. I don't know who you think you are, but what I know is that you need to mind your own damn business. You messed up your chance with Michael, but that's not anyone's fault but yours." I hiss.

"Oh please, get real honey. A person like Michael will never love you. Once he gets what he wants, he'll toss you out like used trash you bitchy--"

By this time, I'm fuming. How dare she say those things about Michael? I growl and then throw myself at her, grabbing at the bushy mane she calls hair. Jose stands to the side, probably finding amusement in the little scene. If I were an onlooker, I probably would too.

I take hold of her head and smash it to the wall, putting more pressure on it with my hands by the second. She squints her eyes shut and gasps at the pain.

"Don't you ever insult him or me ever again. You will let us be." I say before throwing her now weak body hard on the floor. She slowly lifts her head up and chuckles.

"You're going to regret that. Just be on the lookout. I would hire security if I were you." She gives me and evil grin and goosebumps spread over my skin. I hurry out of the suite with Jose on my heels.

We get back to the parking lot and a Michael instantly picks me up and spins me around. I punch his chest and he lets go of me.

"What?" He asks, his face genuinely confused. I sulk at him.

"Don't you know how much you scared me?! Don't ever do that, run off like you did, ever again. You had me worried sick Michael!" I shout. All he does is smirk. How badly I want to wipe that off right now..

"Aww. So you do care about me. I new it." He blows me a kiss and I act like I swat it away. He laughs and I push him into the car. Sam and Jess pile in behind me.

We return the two of them to campus and they say their goodbyes before leaving.

"Where to now? My place or yours?" I ask.

"Yours." He answers quickly and shortly. I agree and we start to drive there.
