How they got their power: He was hiking with their family when the rains came down suddenly, weeks before monsoon season was supposed to happen. He and his parents started going back down, but Jian ended up slipped and sliding down a hill, into a river that was growing by the second. He blacked out, and woke up tangled in vines above the river. He discovered how directly after that.

Personality: Jian is normally a calm and quiet person. He possesses extreme patience for a child his age, as well as a maturity. Perhaps it's due to how he grew up. Recently, he's been pretty confused about his gender. He hasn't actually told anyone, but he prefers to be 'they', not he. Therefore, I'll be using he at first. He's well mannered and polite, and has a unique insight of the world. He's rather clever and smart for his age as well.

Backstory: Jian grew up in China, born into a fairly wealthy family. His parents were good role models, and supported Jian to do good in school. They were very untrusting people though, and could come off as cold to people, so Jian didn't have very many friends. Not that he exactly wanted many either. Their household was run strictly and properly, so Jian grew up following a set of rules. He started to question his gender fairly recently, but didn't want to tell his parents for fear of them not understanding, especially since he doesn't have a lot of knowledge on all that gender stuff, it wasn't common in his area. But, he knows several languages, including English, and learning Spanish. He has an accent when he talks.
