『 c a t a n d d o g 』
the sound of a cart scraping and rolling against a tile floor as swell as the flurry of pidder-paddering steps were the only noise that echoed throughout the grocery store. takashi grabbed things off the shelves and put them in the cart; if he could reach most of things. he would look back, to see if the shy boy was fallowing him.
he frowned when he seen the boy limping. "hey, do you want to sit in the cart?" he asked him.
the boy with bandages stopped his aching legs, hesitantly looking up from the ground. the boy didn't understand a thing he just said, but he knew if he did not answer something bad will happen.
takashi's eyes knitted together, taking notice that the boy didn't answer. he decided to walked towards him.
[y/n] jerked his hands up in a weak defense, freezing up like an icicle in a snowy day. takashi immediately stopped. he didn't want to frighten him. "i'm sorry. i didn't mean to scare you. i just wanted to put you in the cart, so your feet wouldn't hurt."
takashi looked down, rubbing his right arm in guilt. "i-i-it's okay, toono." he looked up at the boy as he realized he didn't know how to speak proper japanese. takashi didn't get to respond as the boy hugged him; his hands slithered to his back, gripping takashi's brown hair. takashi became straight as a flat cardboard box.
what i'm i supposed to do? should i hug him back? if i do, he might get scared again!
many thoughts swarmed in his head, like a a nest of wasps attacking a victim for bothering them.
his thoughts were then cut off as he felt weight take him down. he stumbled a bit, rapping his arms around the other boy.
the boy looked up at him. "cart please."
takashi blinked his eyes. he took a look at the bandaged boy. his arms and legs rapped around takashi. he looked like a little koala clinging to its mother.
he replied, "o-okay."
takashi wobbled his legs towards the cart, the bandaged boy getting heavier and heavier by every passing second. he finally made it to the cart and put the boy in the. "you know, for you being so small. . you're pretty heavy."
the boy looked down to his knees. "i'm sorry."
"what are you sorry for?" takashi asked as a frown is placed on his lips.
the small boy replied, "for being heavy. didn't mean to be heavy for you."
takashi covered his mouth, a small laugh escaped his lips. "that's not a reason to be sorry for." he then, puts his hands on his hips. "now lets go get the rest of the things on our lists!" takashi starts to push the cart forward, down the tall shelves that had what any grocery store would have: food.
"so what's on your list?" asked takashi, grabbing the last item that was on his list. the boy looked down to the white piece of paper, reading it slowly even if it was in a different language.
"milk, eggs, bread. . . and tomato soup."
takashi seen the boy cringe at his last statement, only understanding the last item he said. "you don't like tomato soup?" takashi asked. [y/n] shook his head. "it's the only thing i eat. i hate it." he was going to ask why, but knew that he shouldn't. he ended up saying something else.
"sasuke is shaking."
"who?"
takashi replied, "oh nothing."
takashi continued to push the cart full of groceries and the boy.

"alright, we got the eggs, milk, and bread. now we need the tomato soup, right?" [y/n] nodded his head tiredly. "let's go then!" takashi once again pushed the cart forward to a different aisle.
they made it to a certain shelve with the thing they needed last. takashi tried to reach for it but he's too short. "i can't reach it," he said.
"don't worry. i got it." the [hair color(s)] boy said in a murmuring way. the boy stood up his legs wobbled in weakness, hand reached out to the can that was labeled tomato soup. he then, pulled his arm back to his side.
he heard a bark.
"was that a dog?" takashi asked.
[y/n] shrugged his shoulders. "maybe," he said.
another sound of a bark is heard. not realizing, [y/n's] cat-like ears perked up, picking up the strange barking sound. he looked down.
a small pomeranian dog wagging its little fluffy tail. tilting his head at the dog he asked, "problem?"
"no, no problem at all."
[y/n's] tired eyes widened like saucers.
the dog spoke! and he understand clearly what it was saying.
"dog, talk, me. . . korean?-" he sputtered out.
the dog seemed to ignore the boy and continued to speak. "you know, i never seen a boy with cat ears."
"wha-"
"yeontan!"
the dog turned his head the the right. "looks like my owner is looking for me. also, you might wanna check your friend there. . he looks. . confused. see ya!" the little dog trotted away, disappearing into one of the aisles.
[y/n] tilted his head, "friend?"
"you have cat ears?"
the boy with bandages turned to the brunette. he touched his ears, realizing that he didn't have them tucked under his [curly, straight, etc] hair. he began to fiddle with his white shirt. "i get it if you hate me now-"
"why would i hate you for?" takashi asked with concern.
[y/n's] ears fell flat on his head as he spoke.
"because, my parents said if people see me like this. . they'll think i'm a revolting creature. a thing that should have never been born." tears started to brim his eyes. "just because i'm different than everybody else."
takashi walked in front of the boy and smiled softly.
"well i don't think that."
[y/n] looked up with a puzzled face.
the brunette chuckled at the action. "i think you are just as normal looking as anybody else." he closed his eyes and smiled again. "even if you had horns on your head, you'd still be my friend." [y/n] faced takashi. "friend?"
takashi nodded happily.
"yes. from now on, you are my friend."
[y/n] smiled, he never had a friend before.
"o-okay! let's be the best of friends!"
takashi replied, "yes! friends forever!"
yeah. . .
. . . friends.
