Baby Fairhead (1)

A/N- I don’t actually know how old Louis is but in this fan fiction he is twenty.

Keagan’s POV

“Get off of me,” I exclaimed thrashing around on the trolley.

“Stay still, you’ll just cause yourself more pain,” The woman sighed as I carried on moving around.

“I can’t go in there, please,” I sobbed attempting to unbuckle myself from the trolley but I couldn’t move my legs and I couldn’t sit up.

The other paramedic stopped moving the trolley towards the door and leant over me so I could see him.

“I know you are scared princess, but if you keep moving you could seriously injure yourself, to the extent of paralysing you. Would you like me to contact your parents, siblings, or anyone else?” He smiled softly.

“My Mum’s dead, my Dad is at work and I don’t want to worry him, and my brother I haven’t seen him in years. I have no one to phone and I’m not going in there,” I frowned.

“Come on Princess, we need you to be treated because if you don’t there could be strong precautions,” He sighed.

I sighed. I know what I was doing was stupid but I would literally die if I went in there but I needed to take a risk.

“Okay, I’ll go in,” I frowned.

There wasn’t really anything else I could do. I had no choice but to face my problems head on.

“Thank God,” The woman chuckled as they began to wheel me in from the ambulance to the ED.

I tried to feel invisible in the hopes that it would stop anyone else from seeing me. It was a hopeless effort but worth a shot.

“Abs,” The woman called.

A youngish man came into my view as they began to talk whilst they carried on moving me through the corridor.

“What have we got?” The man asked.

“Unnamed girl probably between the ages of 16 and 19, she was involved in a RTC. She was in the passenger seat and the driver is making her way in, she lost sensation in her legs and has lacerations on her face, neck and forearms-“ The woman carried on talking to the doctor.

My surroundings changed so I only saw the ceiling of what I guessed was resus.

“We’re just going to move you over to another bed,” The male paramedic smiled.

Quickly I was moved to the other bed and I was left in a room alone with the nurse.

“Okay before we start, do you want to tell me your name?” He questioned.

I rolled my eyes and I wasn’t prepared to get my name in the area for my Dad to find out.

“No, I want you to treat me and get me out of here. I don’t want to be here and I certainly don’t want anyone to know I’m here,” I frowned, “Now just do what you are paid for before I put through a formal complaint.”

“Someone has an attitude,” He chuckled walking to the end of my bed, “Can you press your feet against my hands please.”

I did as I was told but I couldn’t feel my legs, so it wasn’t working too well.

“I can’t feel my legs,” I sighed with tears escaping my eyes.

“Okay I am going to send you up for a CT scan so I can see where you shards of glass are and also see whether there is any spinal damage,” He explained, “Could you please tell me your name though, or why won’t you?”

“Once again no, and because my Dad works in this hospital and if he found out that I was here he’d kill me and never let me out of his sight, he already has too much to deal with. Now can I go for that scan so I can get out of here,” I stated rolling my eyes.

I was now back in resus with Abs sat next to me pulling shards of glass out of my face. It wasn’t the most pleasant moment in my life.

“Shouldn’t a doctor be here, and why did you say I had to have a CT scan, aren’t doctors the only ones who can,” I frowned trying not to move.

“Yes but they are all busy, so you have me here,” He chuckled, “I have another nurse coming to help me and as your legs are only numb due to a shock to the spine, it’ll wear off soon. A doctor will probably come and check on you though.”

“How much longer will it take?” I asked.

“If you stop talking, it’ll take less time,” He chuckled.

I rolled my eyes as he finished doing what he had to, such as taking the glass out of my face.

“All done darling, now can you tell me your name, you’ll only be here a little longer,” He smiled softly.

“No,” I frowned, “I can’t let my Dad know I’m here.”

“Okay well, I’m going to go and find another nurse just to check you over and do your stiches,” He smiled.

I nodded leaning back into the bed I was lying in.

“And here is that nurse,” Abs smiled coming back into the room.

I looked up from my lap to see the one person I avoided.

“Keagan Jeanette Fairhead what are you doing here?” He exclaimed, “What has happened to you?”

“Daddy, please don’t be mad. Kelly was driving and someone drove into the side of us, but the side I was at. I can’t feel my legs and Nurse whatchamacallit has got rid of all the glass that has been implanted in my skull. I’ve had a CT scan and my spines fine, and so far I’ve been treated like a princess,” I smiled trying to make him feel better.

“So I’m guessing this is the Dad you’ve been trying to hide from?” Abs chuckled, “And I’m Nurse Denham.”

Well that seemed like a better name that whatchamacallit. My Dad literally ran over to me pulling me into a hug and kissing my hair.

“You haven’t been causing problems have you?” My Dad sighed.

“Well she’s refused to tell us her name, and age. She has also refused to even come into the building, also when I was questioning her she did shout at me about doing my job properly,” Abs chuckled.

“Keagan,” My Dad stated with a warning tone.

“But Daddy, I do believe that only doctors should be able to send patients to a CT scan, I was just following what you said,” I shrugged.

“Abs I trust you to take care of her. Don’t let her back chat you, and she has a little bit of an attitude issue, so just ignore her,” He smirked before kissing my forehead, “Be good Keagan,” He said before leaving.

My Dad was the only family I had left but he was terrible to put up with especially at work or if it meant I was in pain. I was surprised he allowed someone else to care for me other than himself.

“So how old are you Keagan?” He asked softly.

“Twenty, unless you ask my Dad then I’m six. I’m sorry for being a pain; my Dad’s too protective of me. I understand why, as my Mother’s dead and my brother’s gone AWOL, I’m the only one left,” I shrugged.

“Okay, well it’s fine. Either way you should be okay; can you wiggle your toes for me please?” He smiled.

I did as I was told and I could actually feel the tingling sensation in my toes making its way up my legs.

“I can feel my legs,” I smiled quite shocked.
