vii. | WINCHESTERS

A FEW DAYS HAD PASSED in the alternative universe Castiel had been living on now, there was still no news about the brothers and that made Castiel feel uneasy about the whole situation. Even though the situation had complicated in the mind of the angel it seemed like Tony figured it out and made it important to keep him busy in the garage with him, it would be by cleaning up some tools or helping him being creative in some suits that Tony had in mind to make. It did seem like it had helped him focus on something else for the moment, Castiel even helped Pepper in the Stark Industry and that made it easier for him to keep contact with Aria but sadly she had no news for him.

It wasn't until a Tuesday afternoon in the condo Tony had in New York, Castiel had traveled with the hero back home to continue his work in the big city that he felt something different inside him, he felt a sense of some sort of serenity. He was standing in the living room while Tony had gone to his workshop to pick some things up when Samuel had knocked on the door oh the house. A shout to let them in was heard from downstairs and Castiel had walked towards the door, opening the first image he had seen was Dean and Sam, Samuel standing behind them with his smile.

"Cass." Dean said and pulled the angel to a hug, a hug that the angel and Winchester had been waiting for a while now, detaching themselves from the embrace Castiel walked towards Sam giving him the hug as well. "So this is where you have been all this time? Helping the Avengers?" Dean said a smile peaked on his face.

"You know about them?" Castiel confused at the question and he looked at the archangel Samuel who walked inside the home of Stark. "You told them about the Avengers or?" His eyes followed every step Samuel did and invited the Winchester brothers inside the house.

"I said something but Dean here," Samuel looked at the older Winchester with a proud smile "he knows about them from their own universe, something in between the lines of comic books as they grew up."

Comic books? He didn't know that about it, probably never even had the chance to read a comic of The Avengers. Now he was wondering if there were any type of mention of Castiel on this comic books since he has been part of the Stark family for so long.

"Who was at the door Cas?" Tony Stark had asked as he walked up the stairs with a cloth on his hands washing the oil and dirt off. He looked at all men standing in the living room and confused at what was going on. "Hello, Samuel, hi." He said with steps slowly coming closer to them. "Who are these two guys now?" Tony asked as he slightly pointed at both siblings standing next to the angel Samuel.

"These are my friends Tony," Castiel said and sighed before looking at the male again "Dean and Sam Winchester, they work with me." He explained as both siblings stood there as their mouths formed a simple line.

"They are bodyguards too? Bodyguards have a weird sense of style now." Samuel chuckled lightly as he looked at the three males, it made sense that their style had nothing to do with their "work occupation" Both siblings in flannel and jackets and Castiel with the brownish trenchcoat he never seemed to take off.

"Yeah well, they need to look the part of not being intimidating but their work ethics Tony, are amusing." Samuel said as he walked in front of the three other partners and smiled. "Their only mission is to protect others, in this case well, Castiel is here to protect you."

"I made a change of plans, Castiel here, will protect Pepper when I'm not around, I'm Iron Man, I got my suits and everything. I don't need the protection." Tony said as he walked towards the bar and grabbed a glass "Anyone wants something to drink, whiskey? tequila? water?"

"I'll do a glass of whiskey please." Dean said pointing up his index finger and walking towards the bar.

"That is not the plan Mr. Stark, with all due respect, Castiel has to protect you." Samuel's voice had turned deeper it surprised everyone in the room, how his british accent sounded rougher and it even seemed angered. "Pepper has you, if Castiel can't protect you, and you die. Who will protect Pepper?" there was a tense moment that filled the room when the angel had said that.

Sam Winchester coughed a bit and walked towards the bar where his brother had just finished his drink and Tony had a glass on his hand as his eyes looked down, clearly avoiding contact with either angels standing in the living room.

"I would like a whiskey as well, if that doesn't bother you Mr. Stark." Sam said and caught the attention of the hero who just shook his head.

"Not at all, what was your name again?" Tony said as he grabbed the bottle of whiskey and poured him the drink in the glass.

"I am Sam and this one here," with his hand on his brothers shoulder "this is my older brother Dean, he's a big fan of The Avengers." a cheeky smile had appeared on the corner of his lips as he had said that.

Dean scoffed lightly and smiled before he hide his smile with the glass of whiskey and took the final sip of his drink.

"Do you guys have anywhere to stay?" Tony asked as he took his whiskey drink in one gulp and set the glass aside.

"I'll take care of that Stark, I have already some unused apartments where they can stay." Samuel said as he walked towards Tony and the Winchester siblings. "I just came here since Castiel had been looking for these two the past few days and well he had been worried, just wanted to bring them to show they were safe and sound."

"And for that I am thankful Samuel, I will keep contact with you and these two." Castiel finally stepped in for the moment and placed his hands on the back on the brothers.

"Well sorry to have bothered you Stark, we will be going now, if you need anything just call me." Moving his head lightly he motioned them to leave the Stark and angel alone.

"It was nice meeting you Mr. Stark." Sam said as he stretched his hand out and Tony gladly took his. Dean standing up and doing the same as his brother before following the archangel Samuel towards the door and leaving the condo in New York.

"They look like nice guys." Stark said and walked again to the garage downstairs being followed by Castiel.

"They are, they are good guys, looking out for those who can't protect themselves."

"So that's why you chose on becoming bodyguards?" Tony said looking back at Castiel as he took the last step and entering the working station.

Castiel had forgotten Samuel had introduced him and now Sam and Dean as bodyguards, he didn't know how he was going to pull that off but he had to do something about it.

"I'm pretty sure you are tired Cas, I still have work to do and some of this suits I have to send them back to Malibu, but you are free to go home or choose a room here, I'll be up some more hours." Castiel has seen for a while now that Tony didn't go to bed -Castiel didn't sleep so he had heard everything and seen everything that Tony has done in the working station here in New York and in his home in Malibu.

But he couldn't tell him otherwise, he was sure Tony wouldn't listen to him and that he would continue working, distracting himself of something.

"Is okay Tony, I'll stay, I am not tired and well, we can finish up some things here." And with that Castiel and Tony stayed up all night making new suits.
