Where's Cassian and Nesta?

Emerie was left alone in the hospital. Shaking with fear and confusion. Nesta ran off. Cassian followed her. She didn't know why. Maybe she was scared to loose Gwyn. She always had trust issues with other people. Still, she didn't have to leave like that.

Emerie hugged herself, wrapping her arms around her knees. She didn't know what to do. She promised Cassian that she'd take care of Gwyn, but she hadn't heard anything from the doctors yet. Emerie got out of her chair and went to the front counter. Because she was too small to reach it, Emerie had to fly up to get the woman's attention. "Um, excuse me?" Emerie asked softly as the woman turned to her and took in her attire. She smiled sweetly. "Yes dear?"

"Do you know where my friend is?" she asked so softly the woman almost didn't hear her. The woman looked at her with confusion. "What is your friend's name?"

"Gwyn. Gwyneth Bedara?" Emerie said with such determination, the woman smiled even more. She looked at her clip board and check to see if her friend was on the list. "Oh I see. The girl with the injury on her head?"

"Yes, that's her."

"She's in room 26. Do you want me to take you to her?" Emerie nodded as the woman walked away from the counter and led the small Illryian through the hospital. When Emerie looked around, she noticed that the people inside the rooms were all gowned and sitting on a bed. She looked to the left to see a crying high fae holding a young males hand. She didn't know what it was but she didn't pry for answers. She looked to the right and saw a teenage girl arguing with what seemed like her parents. Emerie didn't understand what they were saying so she ignored it and kept pace with the woman. Just before they made it to the room, she was faced by an old man shouting and waving a sign. "THE END IS NEAR!" Emerie, startled by the loud noise, grabbed onto the woman's skirt and shut her eyes. She hated loud noises.

The woman rolled her eyes. "Don't worry about him. He does this every day." she said like it wasn't a big deal. Emerie nodded as the woman stopped. "Here we are." she smiled to her as she pulled the curtains from the room to reveal Gwyn in a nurses gown. Gwyn was sitting on the bed coloring in a book that the doctors have provided for her. She was also drinking an apple juice with a silly straw in it. Her head was patched up with a white cloth but Gwyn didn't seem to be bother by the injury anymore.

"Gwyn, someone wants to see you." Gwyn shot her head up at the mention of her name. She looked down and saw Emerie, shocked that her friend was okay. "Emmy!" she said as she got off the bed and ran off to hug her friend. Emerie hugged her instantly. "I'm so happy to see you. You won't believe how nice the people here are. They even gave me candy!" Gwyn exclaimed as Emerie smiled at her with excitement. "Really, can I see?"

Before Gwyn could answer, a siren noise began to form in the hospital. The girls screamed and held each other close. A voice sounded from the ceiling. "ATTENTION ALL CITIZENS! WE HAVE RECIEVE A SANDSTORM WARNING! EVERYONE PLEASE RETURN TO YOUR HOMES AND CLOSE ALL DOORS AND WINDOWS! WE WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN THE STORM HAS CEASED!"

"A sandstorm?" Gwyn asked as Emerie shrugged her arms not know what it is either. The woman looked terrified and turned to the girls. "Stay here okay." Before the girls could ask why, the woman was gone.

Gwyn looked around and realized that Emerie was the only one here. "Where's Cassie and Nesta?" she asked as Emerie looked down in sadness. "Nesta ran off and Cassian went to go find her. Don't worry, they'll be back soon."

"I hope so." Gwyn replied as she and Emerie got back on the bed. Emerie didn't know when they were coming back, but she knew that she'll do everything in her power to make sure Gwyn was happy.

——————-

30 minutes have passed by and still no news about the Illryian and the high fae child. The woman at the counter, who's name Emerie learned was Clotho, told her that nothing new has come by. Emerie was starting to worry about them. She had to find out something right? Turning to the sleeping girl next to her, she was about to get up and ask again until a commission shook the ground itself.

The sound was so horrid that even Gwyn woke up from her sleep. She rubbed her eyes and yawned. "What's going on?" Emerie walked out of the room, Gwyn following her in her gown. Emerie and Gwyn both made their way to the main entrance to find the source of the noise. When they arrived they saw a familiar Illryian on the floor holding a child in his arms. Emerie heard some soft noises coming from the huge man but she couldn't make out the words. The doctors and nurses were all concerned, confused, or annoyed by the sudden burst of noise. But Emerie and Gwyn didn't hear it. All they heard was their friend crying in Cassian's arms.
