Chapter six: Into the Uncharted Territory
Author's note: after Chapter five: sixteen years later where Caspian is sixteen for the rest of the book and his best friend is Soren, it took a lot of begging for Talvi to convince Cedar to start a family with her, they had five pups together and Soren is one of them, he does play a major role in the story and the rest of the chapters in this book, the time skip is sixteen years. I waited till chapter five for the time skip cause I wanted Luna and Jace to enjoy Caspian as a newborn pup for a brief time. enough chat! enjoy the chapter
Aurora flatters her eyes as she stirs from her sleep. She feels the warmth of the sun on her fur and the gentle breeze caressing her face. She yawns, stretching her limbs as she sits up, her golden fur falling into place around her. She looks around, taking in the familiar sights and scents of the pack's encampment, before her eyes land on Caspian and Soren, who are deep in conversation nearby.
"What's going on?" She asks, her voice soft and sleepy. Caspian turns to her, his smile warm and reassuring. "We were just discussing our plans for the day, little one. Soren and I thought it would be a good idea to take you on a little adventure." Aurora's eyes light up at the prospect of exploring the unknown, but she can't help but feel a pang of guilt as she thinks of her parents. "Are you sure it's alright if I leave them for a while?" she asks, her voice laced with concern.
Caspian gave her a grin, his amber eyes sparkling with mischief. "Your parents will be just fine without us for a few hours, trust me. And we're not going too far. It's just a little excursion to explore a new part of the territory we've claimed. Besides," he added, nudging her playfully, "you know Soren and I will take good care of you." Aurora couldn't help but feel reassured by his words, and her tail began to wag excitedly.
"Of course! I'll go with you guys, because I do know you'll take care of me!" Aurora exclaimed, her tail wagging even faster. She couldn't wait to explore the uncharted territory with her two closest friends. As they set off, Soren stuck his head out to see if the coast was clear, then took the lead. He waved his hand for her to follow him. Aurora took a deep breath and followed, her senses alert as she picked up on the scents of the forest.
"I can't believe we're finally doing this!" Aurora exclaimed as she bounded after Soren, her golden fur catching the sunlight. The air was crisp and clean, filled with the scent of pine and the sound of birdsong. The three of them had been planning this adventure for weeks, ever since they'd discovered an unexplored section of their territory.
"The unexplored section of our territory," Soren repeated with a grin, "that's what makes this so special. You and I might not have our parents' rank or experience, but we have each other. And we have Caspian. And we're going to make this pack great, you know that?" Aurora nodded, feeling a surge of pride and determination flow through her. She was growing up in a world where females were often seen as weak and incapable of leading, but she and Soren and Caspian were different. They were going to prove to everyone that they could beat just as strong and powerful a male.
