Chapter forty-one

"I should tell the spirits I have completed my test," Soren muttered to himself. He needs to find out where he came from and where the spirits live. They could help Lucius find his purpose, too. He was still so lost. As they continued through the forest, they came across a clearing, escaping the dark forest they once came from.

Soren could see the spirits and his friends waiting for him patiently. He took a deep breath and walked forward, feeling a sense of accomplishment wash over him. He glanced back at Lucius, who was still following him, his expression a mix of curiosity and apprehension. As they approached the spirits, Soren felt a surge of energy and excitement coursing through his veins.

"very well," the leading spirit.

Soren stepped forward, feeling the weight of the spirits' expectations on his shoulders. "I have completed my test," he announced, his voice strong and clear. "I have met Lucius; he tried to destroy the tree with magic, but I stopped him before he could do any damage. I told him about finding a purpose, and I was hoping you could help him," he explained, gesturing towards the man in dark robes. "He's lost and needs your guidance." He paused briefly, looking at Lucius again. "You can trust them, Lucius. They only want to help you find your place in the world."

The stranger nodded his head mutely. He didn't know what to say or how to feel; all these emotions were overwhelming him, but he felt a sense of relief and hope that there was a chance for him to find his purpose again. The spirits approached him, surrounding him in a circle of light and warmth, their ethereal voices whispering words of comfort and encouragement into his ears.

Lucius hoped the spirits could give him a sense of purpose again. He closed his eyes and let their voices wash over him, feeling the warmth and comfort they offered. Time seemed to pass in a dreamlike haze as their words sank in, guiding him back to the path he was meant to follow. When the spirits finally pulled away, he opened his eyes, feeling renewed and inspired.

"Thank you," Lucius said, his voice barely audible over the rustling of the leaves in the forest. "I'm not sure what to say. I feel different. Like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders." He turned to Soren with a genuine smile on his face. "Thank you for helping me find my way here. I don't know if I could have done it on my own." Soren grinned back, his eyes twinkling with amusement and pride.

"Happy to help! I've been through a lot myself, and I know how it feels to be lost. You're welcome to stay with me, and we can help each other find our way back to the village. Who knows, maybe we'll find some new adventures along the way." Soren offered, putting a friendly hand on Lucius' shoulder.

Lucius nodded his head in agreement, a newfound sense of determination burning brightly within him. "Yes, let's find our way back to the village. I'm sure there are people there who can benefit from our experiences, and I'd like to help them in any way I can." The two companions set off once again, their steps now lighter and more purposeful as they wove through the familiar forest paths.
