Chapter five: Sixteen years later

"Caspian! C'mon, dude, we gotta go!" Soren yelled, tugging on the sleeve of his best friend since they were pups. Caspian rolled his eyes, stretching his lanky limbs before standing up. "Alright, alright. I'm coming." He yawned, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. "Where are we going anyway?" Soren grinned impishly, a mischievous glint in his hazel eyes. "You'll see." He replied cryptically.

"It's six in the morning; do you have any idea how early that is? You're such a pain, you know that?" Caspian grumbled, but he knew there was no point arguing with Soren once he got an idea into his head. The two had been inseparable since they were pups, and even though they were technically adults now, they still acted like a pair of mischievous siblings. They shared a special bond, forged through countless adventures and shared secrets.

"We aren't the only ones going; your sister Aurora is coming with us! She needs to blow off some steam, and who better to help her do that than her favorite brother and her best friend?" Soren said, a glint in his eye. Caspian rolled his eyes again, but he couldn't help but smile at the mention of Aurora. The three of them had grown up together, and despite not being related, they had a bond that was unbreakable. He knew that Aurora would be thrilled to spend time with them.

"you're kidding? She's only nine!" Caspian exclaimed, feigning horror. "You can't take her to a place like that! She's not ready!" Soren just laughed, shaking his head. "You worry too much, man. She's tougher than she looks. Besides, it's not like we're going to some illegal den or something. We're just going to explore a cave system nearby. It's been mapped out; it's completely safe." Reluctantly, Caspian nodded. He knew that Soren was right, and he trusted his friend's judgment. Besides, he was eager to spend time with both Soren and Aurora.

"I know how Aurora feels when she is outside of the pack's territory. She's always so eager to prove herself and explore the world beyond our borders," Caspian said, thinking about his sister. He was proud of her determination and spirit, and he couldn't wait to see her face light up when they told her about their plans.

Soren had a glint in his hazel eyes, the very same color that Cedar has. He was determined and always had a plan, just like Cedar. They were both born leaders, and everyone knew that one day they would rule the pack together. Soren's father, Cedar, the alpha of the three former packs now reunited as one, had taught them well. They were respected and loved by all, even the elders of the pack.

During the past sixteen years, Talvi had finally convinced Cedar to start a family with her. They had a litter of five pups, and Soren as well as Thorin was one of them. Their daughters, Freyja, Eira, and Luna, were also growing up fast, all with their own unique personalities. Freyja was the most outspoken and independent, while Eira was more timid and reserved, and Luna was a tomboy who loved to explore and play rough with the other pups. As for Soren, he was always protective of his sisters, but especially of Aurora, whom he saw as a little sister.

Aurora is the little sister of Soren, but she isn't related to Caspian. They all grew up together and became inseparable. Soren is the son of Alpha and Beta; his parents are Cedar and Talvi. Aurora is the daughter of Luna and Jace; Cedar's former crush was Luna before she chose Jace to be her mate.

"Who else are we taking?" Caspian asked, curious to know if there were any other wolves joining them on their little adventure. "Just us three," Soren replied with a grin. "It's our thing, you know?" Caspian nodded, understanding. They did have a special bond, the four of them. Even though Aurora wasn't related to either of them by blood, she was as much a part of their pack as anyone else.

"Fine, if you're sure," Caspian said, relenting. He knew better than to argue with Soren once he set his mind to something. He looked over at Aurora, who was asleep in her nest of leaves and fur, her blonde fur ruffled from where she had been tossing and turning. She was growing up so fast, and he wanted her to have as much fun and adventure as possible while she still could. "But promise me you'll take good care of her, okay?" he added, giving Soren a pointed look.

Soren nodded his head solemnly, his hazel eyes never leaving Aurora's sleeping form. "I promise, Caspian. I'll take care of her as if she were my own sister. You don't have to worry." He looked back at Aurora, studying her features so much like her mother's and her father's emerald eyes. "She's going to be a great wolf one day, just like you and me. And I'm going to be there to guide her every step of the way."
