Chapter eleven: Echoes in the Howling Woods

"I never had the chance to tell Solaris why I have wolf ears on my head!" Aurora exclaimed as they walked. "Maybe next time!" She fidgeted with her blonde hair, thinking about what Solaris had told them. It was all so much to take in, but she felt a new sense of belonging and purpose. "I wonder if everyone else has already found their spirits," she mused, looking at Caspian and Soren.

The boys shrugged their shoulders, not sure what to make of the situation. "I guess we'll find out soon enough," said Caspian. "I just hope they all find their spirits as easily as we did." Soren nodded in agreement, his gaze drifting through the trees as they continued on their way back to the pack. The air was thick with anticipation, and they could feel the excitement building within them.

"Imagine what we are going to tell our parents? They are going to freak out when they realize we venture off away from the pack like that," Caspian said, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips. Soren couldn't help but laugh, the sound filling the forest around them. It felt good to be able to joke about it, even if the implications were serious. "I guess we'll just have to break it to them gently, eh?" he said, nudging his friend with his elbow.

Soren laughed and shrugged, his expression turning more serious as he considered how their parents would react. "I guess we'll have to tell them slowly, one piece at a time. Start with the part about Solaris and the spirits, and then work our way up to the rest." Caspian nodded in agreement, feeling a bit relieved that they had come up with a plan. "And we should probably tell them about the responsibility that comes with it too," he added, "like how we're supposed to protect the pack and our people from any harm."

The sound of birdsong filled the air as the three friends continued on their way back to the pack. The sun was at its highest peak, it was still morning, and the forest was alive with activity. Soren glanced at Caspian, wondering if he should bring up the responsibility that came with being chosen by a spirit guide. He didn't want to scare his best friend, but it was important that they both understood what was expected of them.

"I can't believe we got chosen," Aurora said, her voice filled with awe as they continued their journey. "I mean, I've always felt connected to wolves and the spirit world, but I never thought it would actually happen to me." Caspian nodded in agreement, his gaze drifting through the trees as they walked. "It's an honor, Aurora. And a huge responsibility."

Aurora moves her fingers to touch her wolf ears on her head; they twitched in the breeze. "I know, it's just..." she trailed off, trying to find the right words. "It's like I've always been part of this world, even before I knew it." Caspian smiled at her, his amber eyes filled with understanding. "That's because you are, Aurora. You are now part of the pack and the spirit world in a way that most people will never experience."

Caspian sniffed the air, picking up a familiar scent. "It looks like we're getting close," he said, a grin spreading across his face. The three friends hurried through the forest, eager to see their pack again. As they approached, they could hear the joyous howls and see the playful antics of the wolves as they ran through the clearing. The sight filled Aurora with a sense of belonging and purpose that she had never experienced before.

"Mom!" Aurora shouted as she and her friends burst into the clearing, her blonde hair streaming behind her. The rest of the pack stopped what they were doing, their heads turning to watch as the three pack members approached. Caspian and Soren felt a weight lift from their shoulders as they saw the pride in their parents' expressions. They had done the right thing, and their pack understood.

"Baby, where have you been?!" Luna asked worriedly, running over to her daughter and embracing her tightly. Aurora smiled, feeling the love and protection her mother had for her. She knew that they would always be there for her, even when she faced the challenges that came with being a spirit guide. "We found our spirits, mom. Solaris, we have spoken to Solaris. She is here to help us, to guide us," Aurora explained, her voice filled with wonder and awe. Luna looked at her daughter, her blue eyes glistening with unshed tears. "We are so proud of you, Aurora. You and your friends have grown into such strong and responsible wolves, and we know that you will continue to make us proud."

Luna's blue gaze tries to look for Cedar, her long-term friend and alpha of the Luna eclipse Pack. Her eyes sparkled with hope, as if she were looking for a sign that everything was going to be alright. When their eyes met, she could see the relief and pride in his expression. It was as if he had been waiting for this moment for a long time.

"She has been chosen, all three of them." Cedar says, a smile on his face as he looked at his friend and her daughter. "Aurora, Soren, and Caspian. You three have been blessed by the spirits, and now it is up to you to lead your pack and protect us from harm. I have faith in you. You will not fail." The rest of the pack joined them, surrounding the trio, their voices and words of encouragement filling the air. Caspian could feel the weight of responsibility growing heavier, but he also felt a sense of purpose and belonging that he had never known before.
