"Come on! I wanna do something!" Phoenix exclaimed as we walked along the board walk.

"Shut up. We're going on a boat ride." I informed her.

It was dark already and the water looked like an eerie, black nothingness. The nothingness was soon illuminated with lights. Red, blue and yellow lit up the scene as we boarded the boat. Phoenix and I grinned and thanked Uncle Leo as he helped us into the boat. The boat began to pull out of the dock and go around the river. We looked up, admiring the beautiful lights in the night sky. Uncle Leo wrapped his arms around us both.

"Aren't you glad we waited till dark?" He asked.

"It's amazing." I responded.

"At last I see the light!" Phoenix shouted.

"Shh!" Uncle Leo and I scolded simultaneously.

"Sorry." Phoenix whispered.

We went under a bridge. I looked up to see all the lights lighting up in the trees.

"Thanks for taking us here, Uncle Leo." I said.

"Yeah. Thanks." Phoenix responded, smiling.

"Any day with you two is always a crazy adventure." Our uncle said, laughing.

Suddenly, his watch went off and began beeping loudly. Our uncle took his arm off me and looked at his watch. His eyes widened slightly and he turned it off. He looked at us and tried to act relaxed.

"What's wrong?" Phoenix asked.

"Nothing. It's nothing. After this, we have to leave. It's getting late."

Phoenix and I both nodded and exchanged glances. I shrugged and continued watching the lights.

Very soon, the ride was over. Uncle Leo helped us out of the boat and we walked to his car in silence. I got in the front seat, earning a scowl from Phoenix. I grinned in victory as she opened the back door and got in the back seat. Uncle Leo got in the car and started the engine.

"How about I get you two some milkshakes? I know you'd like that."

We both grinned and nodded. Uncle Leo drove us to a Dairy Queen and got us all blizzards. I got a Reese's blizzard, Phoenix got Milky Way, and Uncle Leo got Snickers. We thanked him and continued the rest of the ride in silence.
