3 years later...

Ryan was busy taking bags out of the truck of the car when he heard his parents came out of the house. When he looked up, he saw his mother with her arms open.

"Oh my god Brendon you're here!" He watched his boyfriend embrace his mom. The man lifted the smaller woman and spun her once, getting joyful laugh out of her.

"How are you, son? You haven't been around for a few months. I hope the drive wasn't too bad." George embraced Brendon with his own wide smile.

"It was good. Ryan only cursed at eight cars this time." Ryan rolled his eyes as he made his way to the front door. His arms were full of bags. Brendon always packed a lot when he visited.

"That's a new record," George laughed.

"That's okay. I'll unload the car by myself as my parents give all the attention to my boyfriend and insult me," his voice dripped sarcasm.

"We haven't been able to get rid of you for the past week. You haven't brought Brendon over since New Years." Ryan rolled his eyes at his father as he smiled. Brendon giggled and kissed Ryan's cheek when he made it to the front step.

"Thanks babe," Brendon said sweetly. Ryan dropped his head and smiled from the kiss. They'd been dating for years now, but every kiss still felt like the first. He dropped the bags and circled his arms around Brendon's waist. He planted a quick kiss on the younger man's lips.

"I love you," he whispered softly. Brendon's smile grew wider as he mouthed an 'I love you too' back.

"Would you two just get married already? I want grandbabies."

"Mom!"

"What? I'm just saying," she said defensively. Brendon laid his head on Ryan's shoulder.

"I agree with your mother. I wanna be a pappy," George chimed in. Ryan pulled away from Brendon and began picking the bags back up.

"Can you help take these to the room?" Ryan asked, ignoring his parents' joking. Brendon nodded, grabbing a bag. They all filed into the house and Ryan led Brendon to his room.

"It's nice to be back," Brendon commented as he set his bag on the bed. "I miss it here and your parents."

"They obviously missed you too." Ryan sat on the bed and pulled Brendon into his lap from his hips. Brendon saddled him and wrapped his arms around his boyfriend's neck. "But I missed you the most."

"It's only been a few weeks since you saw me and you insisted we video chatted every night so you could see my face. Not to mention the four hour drive from my place here."

"I know but I still missed you. Sending air kisses isn't the same as kissing you in person."

Brendon kissed Ryan softly and slowly. A surprised noise sounded in his throat when Ryan's arms tugged him tightly against his body and deepened their kiss.

"Remember the last time you were here?" Ryan murmered into the kiss. His hands tighted on Brendon's hips. Brendon pulled away from Ryan, panting gently.

"Yeah, we almost got caught by your parents." Ryan gave him a wide grin.

"But we didn't."

"I don't think your parents would like me very much if they saw me naked on my hands and knees." Ryan shrugged and pecked his boyfriend's lips.

"They might not, but I sure do." Brendon shoved Ryan's shoulder playfully.

"I'm serious. I wouldn't want to give them a reason to hate me."

"They wouldn't hate you babe. They practically worship the ground you walk on. And we've been together over three years. They know what we do."

"Doesn't mean I want them to see us doing... that," Brendon mumbled as a blush decorated his cheeks. He looked down as his finger played with Ryan's hair. Ryan lifted a hand from Brendon's hip to his cheek.

"You're cute when you blush," Ryan said with a smile. When Brendon didn't look at him, he nudged his nose against his boyfriend's. "Hey."

Brendon peeked up but kept his head low. Ryan nuzzled Brendon's nose again. He could see his boyfriend trying to hide a smile.

"After everything you've done for me, my parents could never hate you. You even took a week off work to support me opening my auto shop." He wrapped his arms around Brendon's waist again.

"Yeah, about that," Brendon said unsurely. He brought his hand to Ryan's front and played with the fabric over his chest.

"What is it?"

"I thought maybe I could stay longer than a week." Ryan tilted his head in confusion.

"Are you staying two week?" Brendon shook his head. "How long are you staying?" Brendon's finger moved randomly over Ryan's chest.

"I've been thinking a lot since you left the office and moved here with your parents." Ryan nodded. "I know we've been doing pretty good with the long distance and all, but I really miss you."

When Brendon wouldn't look it him, Ryan tugged his body close to his. He kissed Brendon's cheek to get him to smile.

"I might've told Hurley that I'm quitting," Brendon rushed out quickly. Ryan leaned back in shock.

"What?" Brendon shrugged.

"I thought maybe I could get some small job here, look around for an apartment close by." Ryan's eyes widened.

"You're moving here?" Brendon looked up and met Ryan's eyes.

"Is that okay?" A smile spread over Ryan's face. He grabbed Brendon's face and pressed their lips together. He could feel Brendon chuckle and smile against him. When he pulled away, Ryan pressed his forehead against Brendon's.

"I have an idea," Ryan said.

"Yeah? What's that?" Ryan pecked boyfriend's lips.

"How about we look for a place together?" Brendon's eyes were the ones that went wide this time.

"Would you really want to do that?"

"I can't think of anything I'd want to do more. I love you, Bren. I would like us to start building a future together. You've been so supportive with me moving here to be a mechanic even though it meant we haven't lived in the same city for a year, only occasionally visiting each other. You've given up so much and I want to give something back. I want to get you a big house, maybe a few dogs if you want. We could adopt some kids one day or get a surrogate. I wanna stand at the altar and promise the rest of my life to you in front of our families and friends. I never want to be away from you. I want to share a life with you."

"Mr. Ross, are you trying to propose to me," Brendon joked with a small giggle. Ryan gazed into his lover's eyes, knowing he couldn't be without him. The question circled his head and the thought was starting to sound more and more appealing.

"Yes," Ryan said more to himself. His eyes unfocused from Brendon's. His eyebrows furrowed as the thought turned more in his mind. Brendon's mouth dropped. He gave a breathy laugh.

"You're kidding?" The more Ryan thought about marrying Brendon, the more he meant what he said. "Ryan, you're not serious, are you?"

He locked eyes with the man on his lap. The brown orbs were staring back at him and Ryan wanted nothing more than to wake up to those gorgeous chocolate eyes every morning, be able to hold the man whenever he wanted, have the privilege to call the love of his life his husband.

Ryan went to stand up, bringing Brendon to his feet also. He kept their eyes locked and held his hands in his own.

"Ryan?" Brendon asked nervously. When Ryan dropped to one knee, Brendon pulled a hand from Ryan's to hold over his mouth. "Ryan," he whispered behind his hand.

"Brendon Boyd Urie," Ryan started out. Brendon's eyes where already tearing up. "I love you more than anything else in this world. You are my sun, my moon and everything in between. I didn't know I was going to do this, but I know it's something I want. I want a lifetime with you. I might not have a ring to offer, but I'm asking if you would make me the happiest man in the world. Brendon, will you marr-"

Before Ryan could finish his sentence, Brendon launched himself into Ryan's arms. Ryan wrapped his arms around him as Brendon buried his face in his boyfriend's neck. Ryan chuckled softly.

"Is that a yes?" Brendon nodded and pulled back but kept his arms around Ryan's neck. The tears streaming down his face were paired with a big smile.

"Yes. Of course yes." Ryan lifted his now fiance up, getting the man to wrap his legs around his waist. He smiled and kissed Brendon.

The younger man tightened his arms around Ryan's neck. He let out a soft giggled when they pulled back from the kiss. Their foreheads were pressed together as they grinned like idiots.

"I'll get you a ring I promise," Ryan whispered.

"I don't nee-"

"You deserve a ring so I'm getting you a ring. You can pick it out. I don't care about price. Whatever you want, I'll get it." Brendon bit his lip softly before mouthing an 'okay'.

Ryan carried Brendon to the bed and laid them down. They stayed glued to each other as they repositioned themself to get more comfortable. Their legs tangled together and the rest of their bodies were pressed against each other.

"I wasn't expecting this when I came," Brendon said giddily. Ryan chuckled softly.

"Me neither, but I'm pretty sure it's the best decision I've ever made." Brendon nuzzled his nose against Ryan's.

"Should we tell your parents?" Ryan shook his head and tightened his arms around his fiance. Oh, he loved the sound of that. His fiance.

"Not yet. I don't want to share you with them just yet."

"Okay baby." Ryan closed his eyes and breathed in the closeness. He let his body fill with the warmth Brendon gave him.

"I love you, Bren." He gave his lover's lips a gentle peck.

"I love you too, Ry."
