Chapter 10

Ryan left the room early the next morning before Brendon woke up. He didn't know how long he'd been walking around, but it was definitely a few hours. He just needed to clear his head.

When he finally got back into the room, he saw Brendon cross legged on the bed, scribbling notes on the case file. He was still in his pjs and had on his adorable glasses. He looked up at Ryan when he heard the door open.

"Hey," he said in a soft voice before looking down.

"What are you doing?" Brendon looked up again.

"I, uh, I'm just making a list of a few more places we can go to." Ryan leaned over close to Brendon to read the paper.

"This is a good list." Brendon shrugged.

"I wasn't sure how much longer we'd be here, so I made sure we had plenty of places to go." Ryan nodded.

"Where do you think we should go first?" Brendon looked at the list again.

"Um.. I'm not sure... Arcade?" Ryan nodded and Brendon was a bit surprise. "R-really?"

"Yeah." Brendon sat staring at Ryan. "Come on. You can't go in pjs," Ryan said with a small smile. Brendon smiled back and got out of bed. The two slowly got ready, exchanging a glance and smile every once in a while.

Pretty soon, they were in the car then outside the arcade. Ryan held the door open for Brendon before going in. He looked around at the various machines, many which he recognized from when he was younger.

"I'm gonna go get us some tokens. Don't wanna get kicked out for just walking around," Brendon said. With a nod, Ryan watched Brendon disappear around the maze of games. He walked around, taking note of the different people.

As he was making his way down one aisle, he felt someone jump onto his back almost making him fall forward. Ryan looked over his shoulder to see a grinning Brendon resting his head on his shoulder. The man wrapped his legs around Ryan's waist.

"Whatcha doing, Urie?" Ryan said with a raised eyebrow. Brendon's arms came around Ryan's neck. He leaned in close to Ryan's ear.

"There were some moms staring at you and I'd hate for them to come talk to you and interrupt our surveillance." Ryan gazed around, only seeing teenagers consumed in front of different games. He turned back to Brendon, wrapping his arms under Brendon's thighs to keep the man from slipping.

"We can't have that now can we?" Ryan smirked. He began walking around the arcade with the other on his back. Brendon would hop off Ryan to play a game that caught his eye.

As the two slowly used up their tokens, Brendon ended up pouting after constantly losing multiple games to Ryan. Showing mercy, the older would let the other win on occasion and smirked when the other did a small victory dance. After each game, Brendon would jump back onto Ryan and they continued roaming around.

Ryan spotted a snack bar in the corner and immediately walked up to the counter. He glanced over his shoulder to see Brendon's head perk up.

"What do you want to eat?" Brendon looked at Ryan then buried his face in the other's neck.

"Nothing," he mumbled. Ryan rolled his eyes and turned to the woman behind the counter.

"Could I have a basket of fries and two cokes?" Ryan tapped Brendon's thigh and the younger jumped off his back. He paid and waited for the order. When it was ready, he grabbed the tray and led Brendon to an empty table.

He set the basket of fries near Brendon. When the boy showed hesitance, Ryan pushed the basket closer to him.

"Eat." Brendon took a fry and ate it slowly. "Don't be shy. I've seen the way you snack," Ryan said and took a fry. As he took a drink of his soda, Brendon started to eat more fries happily. Ryan watched for a moment with a smile.

"This case is pointless," Ryan thought out loud. Brendon tilted his head in confusion.

"How come?"

"We're not really doing anything," Ryan sighed. "This just feels liked some vacation. All it seems liked we've done is go to a different place each day and spend time with each other."

"And that's a bad thing?" Brendon tried to hide his disappointment. He was relieved when Ryan shook his head.

"No. You're probably the only agent I actually like." Brendon turned his head to hide his blush from the comment. His eyes widened when he noticed a photo booth. He looked back at Ryan excitedly, but immediately shook his head at his thought. Ryan saw the man's change in mood and turned to see what he was looking at. He spotted the booth.

"Have you ever gone into one of those booths?" Ryan asked. Brendon shook his head.

"Always wanted to, but never had someone to do it with." Ryan stuffed his hand into his pocket and pulled out a token. He nudged Brendon. When the man saw the coin Ryan held up, he locked eyes with the other.

"It's our last coin," Ryan said quietly with a smile. He nodded his head toward the booth. When Brendon didn't move, Ryan stood up pulling the man with him.

"We don't have to," Brendon murmured.

"Everyone should do this at least once." They squeezed into the small booth. "Do you have any poses you wanna do?" Brendon shook his head. "It's okay. It's more fun to panic as the timer is counting down." Brendon nodded as Ryan put in the coin.

As soon as the timer started, the two started by simply smiling. Flash.

"Silly?" Ryan nodded at the suggestion. He crossed his eyes and stuck his tongue out. Brendon gave Ryan bunny ears while he rolled his eyes back and bucked out his teeth. Flash.

"Ah!" The timer started for the third picture. "Diva!" Brendon shouted out. They both quickly struck a pose, throwing their arms out and flipping their hair back. They had on wide smiled from laughing. Flash.

"Anything else?" Brendon asked as the next timer began. The two wiggled around indecisively. The next flash only got the pair moving randomly in a panic, most likely blurry. The final timer started.

"I'm out of ideas," Ryan laughed. Brendon looked at Ryan was facing forward. Without thinking, he surged forward and kissed Ryan's cheek. Ryan felt his whole face turn red. Flash. Brendon quickly climbed out of the booth while Ryan sat for a second in shock.

"This is so cool." Brendon was looking at his now developed pictures. When Ryan got out, he grabbed the second copy. He didn't look at them, keeping his eye on a giddy Brendon. "That was fun." Brendon smiled up at Ryan. "Thanks for doing that with me." Ryan smiled back, his confusion over the last pose escaped his mind at the sight of Brendon beaming.

"Anytime." They stood smiling at each other for a moment before Brendon spoke.

"We should head back to the hotel." Ryan nodded, but didn't move as Brendon began walking away. He looked down at the last picture, blushing slightly. He stood a moment longer before following Brendon with a shy smile.
