Dear Jimin,
How are you? Is everything okay down there?
I know I'm not.
I've seen this girl. And Lord forgive me, but I've never wanted a woman more in my life.
She's not too keen on me though, to my shock horror.
But oh well. A man must try.
I miss you, amigo. I know the Tomatina is barely months away, but you better come up with an excuse to see me soon. It gets too hectic with Jin constantly talking about that Namjoon I mentioned last time.
I'll write again soon. Piccolo still waits for you.
Tu amigo, Jungkook.
-
After writing the letter, Jungkook quickly shrugged off his suit and pulled on his leather boots as he left the estate, assuring the nurse that he'll be back by sundown.
On his way to the stables, he carefully slipped the sealed envelope inside his waistcoat pocket, making sure it doesn't crease.
Calling for a stable boy, he followed the child to the open faced wood hut, pulling the little gate to let himself in.
Pulling at a leash, the boy brought out a chocolate brown horse, huffing angrily at being tugged.
Jungkook waved his hands for the boy to stop, going over to the animal.
He put his hands on the horse's face, gently caressing it in an attempt to soothe it.
"It's okay," he murmured softly. "Easy does it."
Slowly, the once irritated animal began to calm down, neighing quietly against the boy.
"We've got work to do, Coco," he whispered. "And we must be quick."
As if understanding the boy's order, the chocolate brown horse let out a loud snort.
Jungkook, walking to the horse's side, grabbed onto the saddle.
Then, putting his foot upon the stirrup, he heaved himself up, swinging his leg over the horse and hanging at its opposite side.
Now atop the horse, Jungkook turned it towards the entrance. Leaning beside its ear, he whispered, "Let's go, Coco."
One snap of the reigns had it neighing loudly as it went up on its hind legs.
And with that boost, Coco sped out the gates, and soon the estate altogether.
Into the city it galloped, its hooves clattering against the concrete, racing like a jockey close to a finish line.
The wind whipped at the boy's face, messed with his dark locks as Coco rode faster, not for any sort of urgency but for the sheer amusement of it.
Some poor citizens nearly got trampled over, and made sure to glare at the boy as he rode past. Adrenaline, however, drugged his mind, his soul to a point of stripping away his sense of safety and the world around him.
He turned a sharp corner, nearly ramming into a carriage.
It made the madman laugh. He'd been in this situation too many times to count, most with the man he was sending his letter to, when the young boys would ride their horses into the city square and wreak harmless havoc upon the people.
Jungkook missed those days. Those days by his closest friend, who'd promised to stay with him till the day they died, then vowed to spend the days of his death and spread chaos at the Fiesta de Los Muertos.
But all of a sudden he wished to leave this country, and that's exactly what he did. Said it was to help his father in their food chain back in Rome, but it was all too quick for Jungkook.
Whatever, he thought, as he spotted the post office nearing him. At least we haven't lost contact.
Upon arriving at the post office, Jungkook pulled at the reigns, slowing Coco to a stop.
He got off her, tying the leash to a nearby lamp post, and went inside.
It was quite large, yet one half was barred with a slab of wooden planks, indicating the narrow reception.
After a quick greeting, Jungkook fished out the card, handing it to the woman.
"When will it reach Rome?" he asked.
"In about two-three weeks."
Nodding, the boy exited the building, untying the leash and hopping back on his horse.
Next stop, Namjoon's bar.
-
Jungkook burst through the black doors, instantly spotting Jin drinking a glass of wine at the bar counter.
"Oi, you big oaf!"
The elder's head snapped to the boy.
His face hardened.
"You thieving little shithead."
The boy strolled over to him, eyebrows raised. "And why have I been graced with that honourable title?"
"You've drained my fucking wallet!" Jin accused. "I've got hardly money to buy myself a tortilla."
"Chill out, big boy, I'll pay you back," the younger promised, snatching the glass out of Jin's hand and finishing the wine for him.
"Hey!"
"Gracias," Jungkook mused, earning a glare from his friend.
"Bastardo," Jin muttered, wheeling his chair around to face the stage.
"Jin..."
A heavy sigh. "What now?"
"Have you..." Jungkook leaned in closer. "Have you seen Aeri around?"
A snort sounded from him. "You don't just see Aeri Alvarez around. She comes and goes like the wind, unpredictable yet clear when presented." a pause. "Why?"
"I want to see her," Jungkook said.
Jin gave the younger a look. "Don't even think about it-"
"Dios, is that Namjoon I see over there-"
"Where?!" the elder shot up from his seat. He whipped his head back and forth, eyes darting in search of the owner of this bar.
"I think he went through that door-"
"I'll be right back," Jin started, following the direction of Jungkook's pointed finger.
When his naive little friend was out the way, Jungkook stood up, shaking his head as he made his way backstage.
As he went past the long white hallways, the boy racked at his brain for something, anything to say to the dancer.
Just act cool, Jungkook, like you always do. Don't say any type of bullshit, and you'll score yourself a date at the least.
The familiar red door greeted him once more, the similar scent of roses enticing his nose.
Right. No bullshit.
Jungkook raised his fist to knock on the door, but stopped when he heard noises from inside.
"...why...bring him here?!"
"I had no choice!"
That's Aeri's voice.
A sudden urge had Jungkook putting his ear against the door.
He heard a low grown. "Hobi, bring him in our-"
The voices stopped. An eerie quiet fell from inside.
Fuck, I think-
But Jungkook couldn't even finish his thought, as the door he leaned against opened suddenly.
"A LA MIERDA-"
The boy, being so dependent on the door, fell flat on his face, a burst of pain ringing through his head.
Fuck, the boy groaned internally.
"Yah, who the hell is this?"
Jungkook felt someone near him, squatting not an inch in front of him.
He felt his head being tilted upward, forcing to look up at a stranger's eyes, dark and grave and definitely not fuckboy friendly.
"Who are you?" the man guttered, his black head of hair cascading over his forehead, creating an even darker look.
"Who is it-"
Tap, tap, tap, the girl's heels clicked.
And stopped next to Jungkook's face.
The boy looked up at Aeri's galaxy-like eyes.
The dancer's gaze withered.
"You."
Jungkook could only smile sheepishly.
Ho, boy.
