"Ma.."
"Mar.."
"Maria.."
"Maria, are you okay?" Aphmau waved her hand in front of Maria who seemed to be trapped in her train of thought.
She glanced over at Aaron, who was standing by the docks, near the boat where Maria stood at the top. She took one glance at him, confused and worry if Maria was okay.
Suddenly, Maria had snapped out from her train of thoughts which seemed to be consuming slowly at her stomach making worry tremble inside.
She looked down at Aphmau, who had a worry expression plastered on top of her face and Aaron, who couldn't see much from where he was standing, seemed also confused by sudden actions.
"Huh— uh, yeah!" Maria could feel an unpleasant wave of anxiety touching down at her skin making her shiver.
"Are you sure?"
"I'm one-hundred percent—" She stopped midway through her outspoken sentence and thought to herself one again.
Maria knew she couldn't lie to Aphmau but it has felt like something inside of her had snapped — tired of hearing the bullshit the human had spoken of.
"Maria? You don't seem okay." She snapped out from her thoughts once again realizing she couldn't stop herself from going back like temptation.
"umm, about that," she spoke. "I'm not really sure if you would say one-hundred percent okay." She looked down at the ground, avoiding any possible looks she could get from Aphmau.
Maria felt as if she couldn't move, she felt as if her legs were going to collapse and everything in that moment would stop.
She knew it was stupid to think in such a careless way knowing Aphmau would never look at someone in a disgusting manner.
Instead, Aphmau had embraced Maria, her hands were brushing against her back trying to comfort the werewolf.
Maria had never felt such happiness overcome her and it disgusted her.
It disgusted her out of jealousy.
She couldn't feel much emotion as the jealousy inside starting consuming more quickly remembering the time when Aaron told her about the way Aphmau had embraced him.
It made him feel lighter and more calm when the rage inside of him starting taking control of him.
He never did like the immediate response of rage it had on him and if he failed to control them on time, it could lead him to lose Aphmau.
Maria sighed and embraced Aphmau as well making her feel less unpleasant about herself but the unpleasantry didn't change about the she felt towards Aphmau.
"I know you're not feeling well but I thought maybe you might need a hug from someone." Aphmau had broke the silence between us, addressing the unexpected hug she gave and pulled away from me.
"Thank you, Aphmau." She smiled.
Maria had realized what she was doing and soon, the small smile from her face had gradually started disappearing, "I think I'm just going to stay on the boat until I feel better."
"Are you sure you're going to be okay here?" Maria nodded her head in agreement.
"Okay then. Me and Aaron are going to set off to the amusement parks with everyone else so if you need anything, you can call me if needed." Maria nodded her head once again, watching Aphmau walk off the boat.
Maria had stood by, watching Aphmau reach the bottom of the stairs where Aaron was waiting for her.
Maria could see them casually talking to each other probably about her. She looked closer at Aaron's facial expressions as he seemed confused probably because he knew she was perfectly fine before the boat had got to the docks of Starlight Adventure Park.
She watched from the top of the boat as Aaron grabbed Aphmau's hand, intertwining their fingers together as they started walking towards the entrance of Starlight Adventure Park along with the others.
Maria, who was still watching them from the boat had felt her heart speeding up and an unwanted feeling in her chest.
Her teeth slowly started grinding up against each other sounding like nails being dragged down against a chalkboard.
"She's getting on my nerves! You don't love her, stop lying with those words!"
She put her hand over her mouth, feeling the sensation of her mouth slightly opening as her lips separated from each other but she couldn't.
Not with Aphmau around him.
It had became quiet, Maria glanced over at the docks and saw the couple had already made their way towards the entrance of Starlight Adventure Park.
Maria sighed beneath her breathe, as she started walking towards her room which happened to be located right next to Aaron and Aphmau's bedroom.
Although, each room didn't contain much in them, the rooms were quiet spacious and had at least two beds and a television which seemed enough to host quests for about a week.
Maria started observing around the boat as the bedrooms were located downstairs while the kitchen and living space were located upstairs at the front entrance of the boat.
She walked carefully downstairs towards her bedroom as she had walked passed Aaron and Aphmau's bedroom which caught her attention.
Maria stood in front of their bedroom door examine from the outside as the room only had one bed.
From where Maria had stood, the opened drawer which laid in a straight path seemed to be sticking out more than usual — which would turn into yearning.
She had forced herself to look beyond the other direction and to keep going but the temptation became too desirable.
Maria knew she shouldn't invade their privacy but it had felt like she had no control over her own body as she slowly started walking towards the opened drawer.
It had caught her attention almost immediately as her gaze met with a velvet black box in the corner of the drawer.
She tried to ignore the wanting temptation growing inside of her as her hands started inching closer to the box.
Her fingers had lingered around the small box, tracing around the woven tufted fabric with a short dense pile, which gave it a distinctive soft feel as it made contact with her skin.
Maria had stopped tracing her fingers around the fabric as the realization of what this box could have contain had hit quickly.
Maria never had opened something so quickly as she pictured herself like a child on Christmas morning. Her gaze locked with laid inside the box and a small gasp escape her mouth.
Her mouth had widen as she took a closer evaluation, studying the ring's features.
This wasn't just any ring.. it was an engagement ring.
The engagement ring was gorgeous — the way the oval-shaped diamond had shined against the light and fitted in between the gold band which held the diamond in place.
"He's.. going to propose?" Maria knew she should have felt this immense scene of joy and excitement but she had felt something more than just a smile on her face — jealousy.
The more time Maria kept a firm grasp around the ring placed inside of velvet box, the more she had felt jealous of Aphmau.
Suddenly, her heart began to race as the sounds from upstairs which sounded like someone else had gotten on the boat grew louder the closer it had become.
Maria quickly positioned the black velvet box up against the back corner were it had previously been placed before closing the drawer.
but from what could be heard from one of the bedroom downstairs sounded like nothing. It became quiet once again and Maria was relieved.
Still, Maria needed to be more aware about her surroundings knowing the same situation could happen again and could have been caught.
Maria quickly walked out of the room, entering the room next door.
She had laid down on top of the one of the bed in the room which didn't seem to comfortable at first.
She took one look around the rooms again, observing the decorations around the room to take her mind off from earlier as the mattress from underneath the covers didn't seem to make things better.
Her thoughts had started pouring in, which stuck like glue. It made it difficult to take her mind of the thought of Aaron proposing to Aphmau.
She was something more than what most people would call "a basic human" but to Aaron, it had never lead him to think less of her as a person.
Aphmau was everything to him and wasn't going to lose her again, let alone let her out of his sight but then again, Maria wasn't going to give in so easily.
Maria laid back onto the bed, slowly sank into the blankets, giving into the warmth sensation she had around herself.
Her eyes wondered opened, looking over at untouched bed and the silence exposure that traveled throughout her ears.
She pushed herself up pass the covers, which also pushed her legs off the edge of the bed, causing herself to stand up from the bed in this process.
Maria headed towards for the door, twisting the door knob which opened the door as she walked out the door.
The uncomfortable silence had still been in placed as no one seemed to be here, yet something else had her tangled up with her thoughts.
She didn't even noticed someone else had also been here as she suddenly stopped.
The butterflies in her stomach started go crazy as she wasn't expecting Aaron to be here, let alone anyone to be on the boat.
She didn't know what to say as it only seemed like he was the only one on the boat, making her realize it was only them.
Maria needed to get by him without making herself look like a fool in front of the guy who gave her butterflies and the feelings she had never felt before.
She calmly as she could, she had walked passed him thinking she had escaped but everything seemed to have stopped as his hand pulled her back.
Her hands were placed against his chest, finding herself making eye contact with the guy who made her feel like nothing before.
His hand cupped her cheek as he softly caressed it with his thumb. His other hand brushed the side of her waist as his face had approach closer towards her.
His graze upon her body seemed to have trapped her under his spell which deemed to be too resistible, making her weak under his touch once again.
She wanted so badly to close to space between them, giving into her weaken state but vigorous desire he had capture her underneath but she couldn't possibly do it as something has kept a barrier between their lips.
Aaron was lightly brushing away his lips against her, making Maria want to give in and just close the gap between them but he didn't seem to give in just yet as it was evident he was teasing her.
but it drove her absurd at the thought Aaron was only doing this to push her away because he had been paying close attention to exactly how she felt about him.
and what if this happened to be dream placed in reality which appeared too realistic to the mind
which occurred to have set her up?
The silence between them had also made an appearance to be echoing throughout the boat as they made no effort to talk to each other as the occupation connecting them had one hypnotized under the other's spell.
Her gaze never left him, making her heart tremble under him as he had finally closed the gap between them.
Maria was shocked as she didn't actually expect him to close the gap between them so quickly which filled her mind with so many questions mainly about how Aphmau would have reacted.
She wrapped her arms around his neck while he intertwined his arms around her waist, drawing her in closer towards him as the kiss deepened between them.
Her heart began beating more harshly out of her chest as Maria had been desperately waiting for the thing she had been desiring for so long.
Him.
