~Calypso's POV~

So I'm going on a date.

With Leo freaking  Valdez.

My wrench tattoo was getting more and more detailed. And I have to admit, something in me wanted it to be Leo. I mean, he worked at his dad and mom's garage: Valdez's Garage Company.

He was a crafty ADHD guy, maybe we was my soulmate?

Leo told me to meet him at his family's garage, so that's where I was going. I just had to watch out for his half-siblings Nyssa and Harley, I know how protective they are from personal experience.

"Hello. Calypso, right? Leo's in Garage B," his dad, Hephaestus Valdez smiled.

"Thank you, sir," I replied, and made my way to Garage B.

When I walked in, a whiff of motor oil came my way. I saw Leo working on a truck, and he was slid under a car with a very familiar wrench.

That could mean anything , I thought, but seriously, how stupid was that?

"Hey, Leo," I said warmly. He looked up at me and smiled. "Hey Sunshine."

I rolled my eyes. "That was one time !"

"Doesn't mean I'm gonna let it go!"

"Yeah, yeah."

"Let me finish this car and then we'll go. Okay?"

"Alright."

I sat down on a little stool and looked around the room. I tried to think about something to talk about. And what came next made me feel horrible, but turned out to be an amazing bonding moment.

"Where's your mother?"

He looked at me with sadness in his eyes. I immediately backed off.

"Oh. Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings."

He gave me a weak smile, and finished his car.

"Shall we?"

I rolled my eyes. "We shall."

...

We ended up having a nice meal at Olive Garden. Don't ask me why, it was Leo's idea. After we ate, we went to the park.

"Look, about earlier -" Leo started.

"No, I'm sorry for bringing it up."

"Listen. My mom died in a fire when I was six. I always blamed myself for it because - "

And before I knew it, I was hugging the doofus.

"It's my fault for not telling you."

"It's a hard topic. I would know. I never knew my mom, and my dad was thrown in prison for..." I trailed off.

But Leo didn't push. "You don't have to tell me."

"...for killing my sister Zoe. Abusive."

And now he's hugging me.

"Well, at least we relate on something," he joked, and I smiled.

Later on, we were leaning against one of the trees.

"My family doesn't even know I'm on a date right now," Leo chuckled.

"Seriously?" I laughed.

"Well, I don't know if you remember what happened last  time I went on a date, but -"

"Nyssa and Harley?"

"Yep. After mom..."

"I get it."

Leo smiles thankfully at me. And we're getting closer, and closer...

"Leo!"

Percy. Why. 

I could tell Leo was annoyed, too. "Yes, Perce?"

"Jason's computer broke. He needs it fixed. Like now."

He smiled shyly at me. "We'll continue our date...next week?"

I smiled. "Of course."

And when I get in my car, I may or may not have thrown a little personal party.

I get a second date!
